Thanks W!! The simple tips you provided helped me fix the problem. The ice box was not completely seated!!! My wife was going to call service, you saved me a bundle and I (with your help) made my wife happy!! Thanks again!!
The vertical hinge prevents the doors from closing automatically. The plastic notch hits the curved groove and the door stays ajar. The doors should shut on their own. It should not be necessary to apply direct pressure. This design flaw is not covered in this video. In fact at 1:11 you see his door ajar, and he has to manually press it shut, but doesn't even mention it.
BULLSEYE! The damn doors should simply fall closed... you know like a normal refrigerator door. The intended design flaw does it's job well conditioning brainwashed, dull witted consumers to tolerate shittier & shittier products. Whoever came up with the folding center panel design should be publicly executed for stupidity. $2,600 bucks for an otherwise good fridge and the fucking doors don't close for shit.
You are brilliant! I've been opening and closing my fridge for an hour trying to figure out what the culprit was. Have you found a way around the issue?
@@ZalexMusic We just make sure to shove the thing closed, really. Seems like a design flaw.
Thanks, your advice worked for me. A very simple fix
These tips work for me. Make sure you clean your appliance folks.
What is the white/clear gooy substance on the verticals hinge seal that helps lubricate it so it slides easily into the groove? Would like to buy to reapply to help my door close better
Thank you for getting to the point you're awesome I did no have to hear you go on and on and on and on
Thanks Mr. Obvious.
The mullion isn't fully seated in the pivot block, so it doesn't 'flip open' when we open the left door first. So we have to manually 'open' it before closing the door. This seems to be a super common problem with no stated resolution. Suggestions??
Did you ever find a solution? For me, when opening the left door, the mullion isn't retracting all the way and when you try to close it strikes the right door.
@@greghicks5960 Yes! We slightly unscrewed the white plastic piece the mullion is supposed to slide into, so that it sits a little lower and now catches the mullion and flips it. Works great!
@@mrscmwilliams I will look into that. Thanks for the reply.
Thanks this was a GREAT help it worked
Our vertical hinge doesn't always hit the groove properly so the doors don't close
Middle seal part won't go into slide so we have to close the left side first to make sure that seal part is engaged. Otherwise, we have a huge gap.
Anyone know the fix for this? Drives us nuts
I just got a Whirlpool counter depth model number WRS571CIHV01. When I open it and then close it, it seems like the fan kicks in and/or it seals and causes some kind of expand/contract and the doors make a creaking noise. What's going on? Is that normal? I'm getting a tight seal but it seems so loud.
My verticle hinge won't go into the guide and close properly due to some door sag. How do I fix the sag? I don't seem to have an Allen alignment bolt (just a round hole plastic tab where the other video shows to adjust for alignment).
My sis got me same type refrigerator shown in the video when i moved to my new house. And left side door dropped from original place and now it wont close properly. Its only been 1 year. My other refrigerator is from Kenmore elite and its been 16 years, still working. I guess when you buy cheap to save money this happens.
Hi, I have a fridge with three doors the bottom sliding is not sealing and its a new fridge 12 months olds! cheers
My issue was a shelf! This saved me a lot of headache!
I heard 'action' at the beginning of the video! I make movies😀
0:30 Where can i buy a replacement vertical hinge?
Hello im Having the same problem did you find the part ? And if so where ?
@@ElPathorin I have to pull mine open then close it
Same here!
So... if none of those common sense remedies are the issue... ?
Sorry, but this was not a very informative video.
Hahah right!
Thank you buddy for saving the day for me after doing what you advised about in the video my fridge door closes properly and the fridge is functioning well.
AND for older model ones the Door Cam needs to be replaced!
So….how do you correct the problem ?
My freezer door is not flush with the other doors when closed, but the gasket seems to have a tight seal all around. How do I fix this? Does it need to be addressed?
Yeah, it should be addressed because it’ll only get worse with time as well as wearing out the hinge. My right door on the top of my GE profile needed to be adjusted today. I had to open the slide out door below it and turn an Allen key a few times counter clockwise to raise it. It wasn’t hard. Our last fridge needed a wrench at the bottom hinge to adjust. I’d say check out the owner’s manual if you have it or search for videos on your specific model. It’s a quick job once you find out what to turn. Hope this helps
My hinge won’t open when I shut the door unless I do it by hand why??
Same here
How do I keep the doors open? my left door closes automatically.
Same! It's frustrating but no info anywhere to be found
thats all, nothing more, OMG LOL
Nope. Mine is the same and the left door will not close. All of a sudden. Monday, closes great. Tuesday? Nope, will not shut.
To whirlpool: a stupid video
WTF
Teaching Muricans how to close a door? :D
How about poor design; the middle flaps keep breaking apart on us . Time for a Samsung I guess
Samsung and LG have law suits on their refrigerator products. Buyer beware.
Samsung is pretty shite tbh
They should stick to phones
The flapper door on the left door is not working all the time and our Samsung fridge is only 5 months old.
