Hi Thank you for the information in the video. My Maytag was not cooling in the refrigerator and the freezer sections. I followed your recommendations. I unplugged the refrigerator for 5 minutes and I think that resetting the computer board may have been enough for a positive response as the sound from the fans running could be heard. Had to listen closely as they are quiet but before the reset there was absolute silence. I will be giving time for the cooling process to take hold. Just in case, I have a call into the appliance repair service. Selling house and the appliances have to be in working order so no time to waste.
This was a super helpful video. It saved us a lot of money by following the suggestion to clean the vents and coils. Our fridge is working again!! Thank you!
Try this to get the freezer working again. I have an LG Top-Bottom Fridge that was having similar trouble. Compressor and exterior fan were working fine but the freezer was not cooling. I removed the front interior trim of the freezer and saw that the evaporator fan was not working. I carefully unscrewed it from the housing frame behind the trim and checked the resistance and continuity on the wire connector which were excellent. Now I've seen repairmen who would just tell you to replace the fan but at that time of day that was not an option. Having done this before with a standing fan, I realised that all this fan wanted was a cleaning and lubricating of the magnets and impeller respectively. Eventually over time with these two there is a build up of dirt, and rust in some cases, which must be cleaned and so here is where WD 40 is your best friend. I used some of this on a paper napkin to wipe the two surfaces after which I used some treadmill silicone oil, you can use something similar, on the curved surface of the impeller as well as the shaft and end joint housing. I reinstalled the evap fan and plugged it in. Not only did it spin, but it spun faster than before. Also, make sure you clean the plastic fan blade which should just pop off the impeller shaft. I placed mine under the faucet and used some dishwashing soap. Hope this tip helps someone to save some time and money. 😀
your fan was stacked? when you moved it with hand it was hard to turn the fan? because mine seem to turn by hand normally.. the refridge working fine. the motor back sound is ok the back fan working. but at the Freezer i dont hear or feel any air and it can only reach down to 19 celcius... so i think it might be the internal fan not working well because of what you said or the motherboard it turned bad and some component or all need to be replaced..
This was very helpful. I put my hand on two of the vents in my LG fridge (located on the left hand side) and the top one I don't feel any air coming out of, the bottom one has very cool air. My refrigerator is not cooling properly. I've done all that you suggested too. Any more suggestions? I have discovered that very few companies repair LG refrigerators. Oh! Joy! I called LG and they gave me a few to call that are far away from my home. I wish it were easier.
I despise my LG refrigerator. Ice machine broke within a year. Compressor broke within 3&1/2 years. Under warranty however there was only one repair shop that serviced that warranty. Appointments for just looking at it were two weeks out. Then it would be another two weeks before they actually repaired it. Had to pay $380 out of pocket so I didn’t have to wait a MONTH to have my fridge fixed. I will never buy anything, especially appliances, with the LG brand on it again. Plus the damn sales man at the store sold me one too big for my space for it and I couldn’t exchange it without paying MORE for a smaller fridge.🤬 Edit: LG also gave me two listings that were repair shops two or more hours away, obviously they don’t service my area and basically laughed at me when I called. Edit #2: and yes I’m here looking for solutions to my fridge and freezer not cooling enough. Four years since the compressor was replaced.
Try to changed #1 the thermostat, its located behind the back pannel #2 check the heat element me sure it has conduit. Test them with a voltmeter you can get one at harborfright, a 20 voltmeter bucks will do it, set it to omms , it should drop down to 0.0 that means it has conduit. Same thing with the thermostat. It the thermostat works but its not defrosting its because the heater element its broken, the thermostat it will tell the heater element to Start defrosting, when the element its good but the thermostat isn't working is not sending signal to the heater element usually happens every 6 hours the defrosting cycle, when is not defrosting the coil get clogged of frost blocking the air flow to chill the entire frege, good luck hope this will help you to fix the problem. A good thing is that the freezer works so thats a plus.

Thanks for the insight! My fridge is a side by side (exact one in the video), and it is at 45ish, but the middle divider that the doors suction to has a surface temp of 124°. Ran trough all of these....so sadly I'm going 2 have to call a repairman, but still thanks a lot. My condenser coils were really dirty so I ruled that out.
Very helpful tips and tricks. Thank you. My fridge is cooling well but it is making a loud noise. Could you let me know why I am getting the loud noise off and on from the fridge
Sorry to hear about your noise! It's hard to say without seeing your fridge, but there is a chance that it's just a noise the fridge is meant to make. They tend to be really loud appliances. Sometimes in the owners manual manufacturers will list some noises that you can expect to hear, so you can check to see if it is a normal noise. It could be something like the ice maker making ice.

Thanks for the information, i will try and get back to you, i figure something is wrong becasue i have bought milk 3 times and in 3 days it is spoiled.
It's very important to keep your appliances at the proper temperatures. Keep the refrigerator temperature at or below 40° F (4° C). The freezer temperature should be 0° F (-18° C). Check temperatures periodically. If the temperatures aren't kept at the proper settings the more chance Listeria, a bacterium that causes foodborne illness, can grow, especially if the refrigerator temperature is above the safe temperature. Thermometers are the best way of knowing these temperatures and are generally inexpensive.
I have an LG fridge and the temperature says it's at 37F, but it is clearly not cold enough inside. It's not warm, but not as cold as it should be. I have noticed that one of the vents inside the fridge does not have any air coming from it, white the other does.
my fridge says it's at 37 degrees and the freezer is at zero. I have Almond milk that should have lasted until the end of October and it's already gone bad. I had a guy come out, which he was glad to do for $99. He said what the part was that I needed, but when I ordered it and was ready to put it in, I realized it was the wrong part! I told the technician, but he never responded. No ethics these days.
Thank u very much for your advice. I did the unplug and plug and my refrigerator work again. So helpful. Save me a lot for the repair. Watching from the Philippjnes. New subscriber.
I have a Whirlpool Gold Series and my problem is that it stops cooling. I unplugged it from the wall for 30 seconds and plugged it back. Furthermore, I can hear the compressor kicking in after that, and it will start cooling for about 24-36 hours. Then I see water dripping out of my ice door as the ice has started melting again. Will it be the compressor switch?
Hi I have a Beko American style fridge freezer top compartment evaporator fan not moving can’t hear it at all that compartment not cooling properly food tends to go off before expiry date I’m thinking of attempting to change fan myself I’ve located fan to purchase from Beko direct any tips
SERVICE RECOMANDATION: Let it defrost 1-2days, you need a second fridge but it works, this is for all new models, specialy no frost ones, if freezer is working but fridge temps are up, this might save a trip to service, also for summer better set temps 4 , -19
@@Glo2GoSprayTan_danielle My Liebherr already out of warranty last year, since the service guy came worked until this summer, than try defrost it for half a day and didn't work, so had to move again everything in another fridge & leave it for ~2 days with all doors open, working ok now, but it's very annoying for some one that doesn't have a second freezer to move the food.
@@KEEVVY please keep me updated I don’t know how the freezer works. The fridge is reading 58 now. When I unplugged it for a day ( after all my food was ruined in the fridge) it worked perfectly for like a week.
Comprehensive explanation = Thank you! I'm trainable, so following your instructions helps me help myself. If you had a phone or chat, a "hotline" (charge by call or by a minute or another time frame), that would be helpful too. My two refrigs are nearly identical models both 17 cu ft; one Amana one Whirlpool = interchangeable shelves, door compartments, etc. The Amana is older by about 5-6 years and is located in garage, the new Whirlpool is located in kitchen; keep up your good work. I'm in metro Boston, MA area, it appears you are located in Utah. so remote communication is essential.
No it should not affect how cool the refrigerator gets. Generally you see cooling issues when the refrigerator side is overfilled but not the reverse like you’re saying.
Good video! Like your phrase reboot the refrigerator. I got an error code and it seemed to be warmer than normal. I rebooted (unplugged and plugged back in) and all was well. Good tips.
My sister said our fridge made three huge pop sounds and there was a burnt smell afterwards. What do you think happened?? We're going to call around tomorrow.
Question: I have a Jenn air fridge, had warm air in fridge and not cooling. The control board doesn’t lower temp, it stays same. Noticed compressor wasn’t on so replaced starter relay and cleaned coils as well and it’s still warm (but now I hear the compressor which stays on for hours). No ice build up and I can hear fan too, but it’s still warm after 12 hours with compressor running full on. Do you think is thermostat or control board? I appreciate your help
Sorry for the late response. I'd wager you have a low freon situation. The compressor is trying to move the gas/vapor and its having a hard time because of a lack of quantity.
:Your video was informational, Thank you. I have a question we have a 2015 Frigidiare the problems we are experiencing are the refrigerator keeps raising up to 65% and marking H Temp not allowing us to reset the temp. We have notice the freezer box in the fridge is condense with ice. We have recently unplugged the water line because this was happening every few weeks and since we did that refrigerator started working again but just for a few weeks again and we are experiencing the same issue. The freezer stays cold but not as cold to keep items frozen and the refrigerator at a luke warm temp. Any suggestions?
My recent experience was that the Samsung unit I have went into demo mode for some reason. I've never touched the panel so I was glad to find a video that showed exactly what needed to be done to take it out of demo mode. Working again! I'm glad I had a big chest freezer to dump my meats to before they hit critical temps.
Appreciate this. My midea refrigerator has ice building up in the inside back of the refrigerator. Inside the vents. This is causing the refrigerator to get warm. I am having difficulty getting a repair person to come out as I am told they won’t service midea. Hoping for a suggestion
What’s the trick of getting a heavy double door fridge out of a small compartment in your kitchen like how do you really get it out? I know it’s got brakes on the wheels on the bottom, but how do you actually pull the damn thing when you got maybe a quarter of an inch on both sides.
My 2009 kitchenaid refer runs Google for 2 weeks than warms up. The compressor is fine coils clean evap motor runs. Is it the thermostat or the circuit board? Is the cooling sensor normally open or closed thank you
Thank you for the video. Returned from one week vacation with spoiled milk in the fridge. Seemed fridge was not cold. Checked the coil and it was caked with dust. Clean and reset and the fridge seems to be working so far. fingers crossed
my Refrigerator still working but the cooling is not very freezing like always only in the under side but the top side is cooling just fine, even when i put it to the max level its still not enough all my drink just feel almost cold but not freezing what should i do?
It's hard to know without seeing your fridge for ourselves. Go ahead and try the tips in our video, and if none of those seem to work you might have to call out a technician to diagnose the issue. Thanks for watching!
The refrigerator left behind when i purchasd house was an antique unit. It is an ugly looking yellow in color from 1980s. I never maintain it and as of today, after 11 years of my ownership, it is still running strong. I had to replaced a whirlpool refrigerator due to water dispenser.had a mind of itnown.
My Kenmore Elite side by side refrigerator temperature (s) will not stay at 0 for Freezer and 37 for the refrigerator (digital control). It is 18 years old but I'm hoping I can reset something before I need to buy a new frig. What do you suggest I try? Thank you for your help!
Apparently checking to make sure your outlet is working is also key. Outlet was fine for the first few years in the apartment and suddenly it stopped working.
We have a Model: GTH18XCT2RBB fridge. The freezer on top is fine, but the fridge, even maxed out on the dial, is cool, but not cold. WHat are some possibilities that can be checked?
How long should it take to see the refrigerator and freezer are beginning to cool down? I unplugged for 5 minutes. It’s been about 20 since I plugged back in.still showing H1 and adjusting temperature.
I have the exact same one as in your video, how many circulation fans does it have? Mine isn’t cooling in the top. I also think it’s icing up behind the inside wall. Would the fans not working correctly cause it to ice up?
I have a kenmore 106 515 691 01 model refrigerator. Recently, the technician replaced REF DEFROST TIMER SWITCH. And, it seemed to work, but, I noticed that on the refrigerator side [the freezer side works perfectly], i do not feel any air coming of the bottom vent. Hence, refrigerator side does not seem to work optimal. Any thoughts on how to remedy it. Thank you.
Hii have a hitachi two door (freezer on top) and freezer is dripping. Tech guy says the swivel hole of lower large door is frayed so its not shutting fully and hitachi only changes doors. The door is not kind of shutting with a spring action. Do you think this could be the issue or something as easy as drain hole clogging in the freezer area?
What do I look up in Google to find a professional who can help me fix my unit? I have done everything in this video and it still is not cooling well :(
I just refilled My refrigerator with food etc, also the freezer. And like 2 days later I noticed my milk was barely cool, and the freezer isn't freezing my food! I had to throw my meat out etc. I'm guessing I need to get a new refrigerator? I checked the filter and all the vents etc seemed clean. I dont know if its worth fixing, probably better off getting a new one id assume.
I have an old LG model number; GR-409GQ refrigerator! The compressor seems to be working okay but its not cooling inside! Thought it was the evap. fan but i removed it and connected it to 230 volts of power and it seemed to work just fine. Help me out with ways of troubleshooting. and no there is no frost build up, theres just no cooling at all in both compartments
In the course of a couple of weeks, I had massive temperature changes, So I had to adjust the thermostat 4 different times. One moment stuff was freezing the fridge, the next moment it was too warm and that was with only a change of a half setting. I have frigidaire 7.5 cu ft unit. After the 4th change of setting or so in the space of week or more, the fridge compartment stopped cooling. Can changing the thermostat too often cause this? I waited at least 24 hrs between changes.
With my freezer on a Kenmore side by side only getting down to 15F so it is hard to make ice, my repairman came in looked at the coils said they were clean. Asked how old it was and said I need a new compressor. Is more analysis needed than that? Can it be something solvable for less than $1000?
Hi I have a Kenmore coldspot the cooling is not up to par I was able look at the coils underneath. They were quite dusty and clogged Iwas able to vacuum the front and the very back coil .There are more in the middle that seem next to impossible to get too. Any suggestions would be appreciated Thanks
I have an Midea side by side and I may overshoot the process and lose money by changing the circuit boards. I changed one and that wasn’t it, today i got the main circuit and that didn’t make a difference as well. The inside fan is working but I believe my compressor is inop. The unit is 6 months old and I assume it’s not the compressor. Just to think about it, the fan at the compressor doesn’t turn on. The compressor isn’t hot and tomorrow I will check if the lines are leaking. Im so frustrated with this fridge and I don’t want to dish out more money to where it’s cheaper to buy a used unit
I have tested my heating element under my coils and that needs to be replace…and my evaporator fan is not working but don’t know if it is the fan itself or maybe voltage to fan that causing it not to work
I have a side by side Frigidaire not cooling at its peak I crams the condenser and fan located in back I noticed the freezer walls in the back is iced could it be the condenser fan that is froze or the heater not working ? I’m getting ready to remove the panes inside to take a look . What should I be looking for ?? btw no experience in refrigeration 😳
My fridge-freezer ( free frost) isn’t working well. It still produces some cold, but it doesn’t look right, especially because the freezer does not freeze even a small tray of ice cubes. Also, the fridge has a long time gap when it becomes quiet (2 hours or so). Please have any suggestions about how to fix the problem?
My freezer door of my fridge was open at least 24hrs and I've cleaned everything and plugged it back up it works about 3 days then doesn't, is it worth or able to be fixed
GE refrigerator not cooling. Checked and cleaned coils(dirty but not really clogged), fan is working -not stalling, condensor motor is working- can feel it vibrating, freezer is cold but could be colder, unplugged for good 20 minutes checking everything. Still same problem.

What would be the cause of the freezer is working, but just not the other compartment?
I realize this is an old comment but my guess would be that you have a dual evaporator fan setup and that the fridge fan is not working.
In my case it was fixed by a thermostat change.
My damper between fridge and freezer stopped in the closed position, so no cold air was flowing in. Replaced the damper and all good.

they dont make it like my childhood my moms & grandparents used to have one for 20 years , all these days dont matter is f*n American made or not breaks down after few years need to replace this & that or paying services chargers , these days all about make one quick & sells it quick they dont give a F** about quality anymore..is f**ked up corrupted world , specially in U.S these days. .even American made Products is sux & breaks down soon enough
great advice. thanks for sharing. but the one question, if the fan is not running, how can it change?
Thanks for the information, i will try and get back to you, i figure something is wrong becasue i have bought milk 3 times and in 3 days it is spoiled.
We're sorry to hear that. Hopefully this video helps you locate the problem!
Sir I have same problem as your reply how to resolve it
So why have a thermostat inside fridge.
I have an LG fridge and the temperature says it's at 37F, but it is clearly not cold enough inside. It's not warm, but not as cold as it should be. I have noticed that one of the vents inside the fridge does not have any air coming from it, white the other does.
@Wesmancan you can adjust but it does effect the life
my fridge says it's at 37 degrees and the freezer is at zero. I have Almond milk that should have lasted until the end of October and it's already gone bad. I had a guy come out, which he was glad to do for $99. He said what the part was that I needed, but when I ordered it and was ready to put it in, I realized it was the wrong part! I told the technician, but he never responded. No ethics these days.
thank you this vedio was good information . i bought this 1 1/2 year and now the freezer is not working. i will try your steps and get back to you
Which steps did you try? I removed everything from the fridge and my freezer works better now 👍
Thank you so much my fridge is now working 👏👏👏👏👏
Thank u very much for your advice. I did the unplug and plug and my refrigerator work again. So helpful. Save me a lot for the repair. Watching from the Philippjnes. New subscriber.
He's a good teacher
I have a Whirlpool Gold Series and my problem is that it stops cooling. I unplugged it from the wall for 30 seconds and plugged it back. Furthermore, I can hear the compressor kicking in after that, and it will start cooling for about 24-36 hours. Then I see water dripping out of my ice door as the ice has started melting again. Will it be the compressor switch?
Please let me know how you solve the problem. Thanks so much!!!
I have a Gd5yhaxnl00 year 04, now and in the future, how do I tell if my refrigerator has a computer? Thank for your video.
Hi I have a Beko American style fridge freezer top compartment evaporator fan not moving can’t hear it at all that compartment not cooling properly food tends to go off before expiry date I’m thinking of attempting to change fan myself I’ve located fan to purchase from Beko direct any tips
How did the repair go?
SERVICE RECOMANDATION: Let it defrost 1-2days, you need a second fridge but it works, this is for all new models, specialy no frost ones, if freezer is working but fridge temps are up, this might save a trip to service, also for summer better set temps 4 , -19
Thank u you just help us fix for fridge for free thank u
I just unplugged mine for 2 days and it works. Thank goodness because I didn’t have money to buy a new one.
Its doing it again please help 🙈
@@Glo2GoSprayTan_danielle My Liebherr already out of warranty last year, since the service guy came worked until this summer, than try defrost it for half a day and didn't work, so had to move again everything in another fridge & leave it for ~2 days with all doors open, working ok now, but it's very annoying for some one that doesn't have a second freezer to move the food.
@@KEEVVY please keep me updated I don’t know how the freezer works. The fridge is reading 58 now. When I unplugged it for a day ( after all my food was ruined in the fridge) it worked perfectly for like a week.
Efficiently explained!!
But what makes the compressor get too hot??
20 year old kemore works great and never clean the back. Now all is overengineered to fail for profit. Keep it simple and demand better not fancier
Will too much food in the the side door freezer effect how cool the refrigerator gets ?
No it should not affect how cool the refrigerator gets. Generally you see cooling issues when the refrigerator side is overfilled but not the reverse like you’re saying.
@@BoulevardHome thanks.
I will try all that you said. Hopefully its just a reboot thank you. Very informational for me
My new AEG refrigerator does not cool or freeze even after 24 hours, but your videos are nice, yes.
The compressor is trying to move the gas/vapor and its having a hard time because of a lack of quantity.
freezer side cools, fridge does not. I don't think the fan spins. Is there a video you'd recommend for fixing that?
:Your video was informational, Thank you. I have a question we have a 2015 Frigidiare the problems we are experiencing are the refrigerator keeps raising up to 65% and marking H Temp not allowing us to reset the temp. We have notice the freezer box in the fridge is condense with ice. We have recently unplugged the water line because this was happening every few weeks and since we did that refrigerator started working again but just for a few weeks again and we are experiencing the same issue. The freezer stays cold but not as cold to keep items frozen and the refrigerator at a luke warm temp. Any suggestions?
I have the same problem
Looking for solution right now.
Thank you for the video, very help full, just a question how to identify if the evaporator van or the evaporator fan motor need replacement ?
My recent experience was that the Samsung unit I have went into demo mode for some reason. I've never touched the panel so I was glad to find a video that showed exactly what needed to be done to take it out of demo mode. Working again! I'm glad I had a big chest freezer to dump my meats to before they hit critical temps.
How do I restart compressor?
Appreciate this. My midea refrigerator has ice building up in the inside back of the refrigerator. Inside the vents. This is causing the refrigerator to get warm. I am having difficulty getting a repair person to come out as I am told they won’t service midea. Hoping for a suggestion
Do black plastic / nylon bags pull more energy when in the fridge ?
What’s the trick of getting a heavy double door fridge out of a small compartment in your kitchen like how do you really get it out? I know it’s got brakes on the wheels on the bottom, but how do you actually pull the damn thing when you got maybe a quarter of an inch on both sides.
Your teaching is very helpful, keep it put sir
My 2009 kitchenaid refer runs Google for 2 weeks than warms up. The compressor is fine coils clean evap motor runs. Is it the thermostat or the circuit board? Is the cooling sensor normally open or closed thank you
Thank you. I will try your suggestions.
Thank you for the video. Returned from one week vacation with spoiled milk in the fridge. Seemed fridge was not cold. Checked the coil and it was caked with dust. Clean and reset and the fridge seems to be working so far. fingers crossed
Still working?
@@humza9460 yes nice and 🥶 cold
my Refrigerator still working but the cooling is not very freezing like always only in the under side but the top side is cooling just fine, even when i put it to the max level its still not enough all my drink just feel almost cold but not freezing what should i do?
Not cooling sometimes it does but not long is it fixable or trash?
It's hard to know without seeing your fridge for ourselves. Go ahead and try the tips in our video, and if none of those seem to work you might have to call out a technician to diagnose the issue. Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much very informative
I have old Kenmore. It’s has a bottom freezer working normal. The top food refrigerator stopped cooling. What to do? Do you have a video??
It’s a good idea yo have a refrigerator thermometer that can read actual temperature inside.
Thank you so much sir for your kind information and suggestions about refrigerator
Thank you.
Hi!! My Samsun fridge freezer, which is at the bottom, works from time to time. Now it stopped working but I can hear a fan running on top.
Ur video is interesting I have a inverter frigadare its not freezing what should I do about it
Thanks a lot for the information, it helps a lot
Glad to hear that, thanks for watching!
8yo Kenmore Elite. Freezer is great, still making ice, but inside fridge temp is a balmy 62°. Vacuumed out a couple of weeks ago already…any ideas?
Does too much gas make a chest freezer freez slow ???,, I need a answer to this please
Great professional job. I learned a lot.
Great explanation thanks
Thanks a lot for your help and details
What do I look up in Google to find a professional who can help me fix my unit? I have done everything in this video and it still is not cooling well :(
I just refilled My refrigerator with food etc, also the freezer. And like 2 days later I noticed my milk was barely cool, and the freezer isn't freezing my food! I had to throw my meat out etc. I'm guessing I need to get a new refrigerator? I checked the filter and all the vents etc seemed clean. I dont know if its worth fixing, probably better off getting a new one id assume.
Very informative thanks will do the steps
Glad that we could help, good luck with the steps!
I did exactly what you said but the fuse blew again. Do you know what I can do?
I ordered the fuse you recommended. I have the same fridge.
Any suggestions would be appreciated
Thanks
Can you use canned air to try blowing out more dust? That's what I did.
I have tested my heating element under my coils and that needs to be replace…and my evaporator fan is not working but don’t know if it is the fan itself or maybe voltage to fan that causing it not to work
I have a side by side Frigidaire not cooling at its peak
I crams the condenser and fan located in back
I noticed the freezer walls in the back is iced could it be the condenser fan that is froze or the heater not working ?
Thank you I know where to start and go from there. 👏☺️
