- Why is Your Fridge Freezing the Food?
Refrigerator freezing food? In this video, we're going to help you find out why the food in your fridge is freezing. There are a few reasons why this can happen and we're going to take you through each one and how to fix it. If you have a Whirlpool refrigerator freezing food, or any other brand of refrigerator, this video could be very helpful!
One reason for this is a faulty door seal. You can purchase a replacement door seal for your fridge freezer make and model on the eSpares website:
www.espares.co.uk/search/pt15...
Another reason is a faulty thermostat. For this, you may need to replace the thermostat itself or the temperature PCB and the main PCB. You can find links to these replacement parts here:

Worked perfectly, thank you! Replaced the PCB thermostat and the control PCB at the back as per the video. No more ice build up on the internal wet wall.

Hi John, thanks so much for your comment...hopefully our video has helped you to find the cause of your food being frozen in the fridge?
Useful. Perhaps best to check items 3 and 4 first before going for the thermostat change
Every time my fridge has started freezing food is because the bloody temperature control knob (Bosch...) is conveniently placed to be caught by anything placed on the top shelf.
Same applies to my mother's fridge freezer.
These dials need some sort of lock-out to prevent unintentional movement.
I've wedged mine with a piece of plastic cut from a milk bottle...
I have same problem with my beko fridge freezer
for me, its only the top part of my fridge thats freezing, the setting is as low as 1, i have a beko fridge and i cleaned the coils on the back, still have the top part freezing up
Hi checked door seals, replaced pcb board same as video 2.50, defrosted. Cleaned little hole at bottom of fridge, and defrosted twice. Still the same. Freezer is working fine. Beko frost free fridge freezer 5 years old. So likely to be main pcb on back of unit? As gas is fine because freezer is working. Beko CXS5104W main board not listed on your website and cant find manual? Thanks
Hi
Have you sorted it successfully?
@@danielostrowski7471 hi I gave up and bought a new fridge freezer.
You have missed out the most common cause of the Beko freezing food in the refrigerator compartment. It being a faulty thermistor fitted just below the main circuit board hidden under the foam insulation
you mean the 99 out of hundred thermistor fault lol .. all of this and nearly always the thermistor fault...in fact i dont think in all the bekos ever repaired with this fault of over freezing fridge across whole of the back... has been the thermistor
@@sharkyxxx4057 Hi, my Beko CF5834APB f\f comes on and constantly keeps running, freezing the contents in the fridge with the control set at min, are you saying it's most likely the Thermistor? and not the main pcb. Thanks
yes it wll not be the pcb... if you have an even frosting over the full back wall of the fridge building ice and freezing food stuffs it will be the thermistor situated in the back wall of fridge from rear....@@Edge_Effect
@@Edge_Effect if you have poor frosting across rear wall of fridge not a full square then it will be a weak compressor so make sure it is an even feed of frosting..if so it will not be the pcb... when these pcb fail they usualy will not run at all and fail on capositor of pcb.... hope this helps
@@sharkyxxx4057 Thank you, yes it's an even frosting over the full back wall. I unplugged the thermistor from the pcb and measured the ohms while the fridge was reading -1.5c, was getting 3.571 kΩ which believe is way out of spec. Ordered new thermistor to give that a go.
I have a Side by side and I can´t find the bloody thermostat
My beko cxf5104w is freezing foods in the fridge , I've replaced the main and thermostat pcb's but it's still freezing food in the fridge
it will be thermistor not pcb... its faomed in to rear wall
Except for when it doesn't and all the lights light up 🙄
My 3 year old electra fridge freezer is doing this. Ugh.
Hi, oh really sorry to heat this, we hope our video has helped you to identify why your fridge could be doing this.
Did you find a fix? My Electra fridge freezer is also freezing all our food currently and want to fix it!
@@nathancollins5160 no I didn't have time so I just bought a new fridge instead
This keeps happening to my fridge
