Really fantastic info. Thanks! There's not as much info on the TDCi. I managed to get a 2007 puma in great condition. I'm enjoying it a lot. I don't know if it's better than the TD5 but it's definitely a bit more comfortable!
I’d recommend filling the new oil filter and bowel with fresh oil. So that on first start up the oil pump has pick up and isn’t momentarily running dry.
@@offtrackfamily it’s generally accepted in the industry that if you can, then you should. Of course when the filter housing is positioned upright such as with many german cars, it isn’t possible. Most engine wear occurs on cold start up. Anything you can do to stabilize the oil pressure quickly is a good thing
Hi. Thanks for video! Comments on equivalent Ford spec oil. For driving in higher sulphur diesel fuel countries (350ppm S +) use the wss-m2c921”A” or 913”D” oil only. The 913”C” oil is suitable for EU low sulphur diesel fuel use only. Even with the “A” or “D” oil, consider 5000km service intervals when traveling through africa as sulphur ppm can exceed 5000 ppm in some countries.
Hello, love and thanks for the great video. I’ve done the transfer case, front & rear diff. oil change with your help. I appreciate your great vids. Do you guys look into two stroke oil into your fuel? If so, nice if you could share your thoughts.
You can squeeze the top coolant hose near the radiator and you will be able to see the coolant level move in the expansion tank. - despite the semi - opaque design.
Bonjour.
The Oil wont change the overheating problem. Get the PUMA Hood from Nakatanenga and also the bigger intercooler. Especially when you drive longer highway distances.
Hi! thanks! The puma has only one oil filter. two filters was for the TD5 I think but not sure. About the 2.2 not sure if it's the same as 2.4. I saw some cartidge type so it's maybe better to ensure what is the correct filter you need for your exact model and then you can do it. But what is sure it's that the process is almost the same.
We changed the fuel filter during our trip in Montenegro so we won't create a "how to" video for the moment. But we do show a little part when we changed it at the end of our travel video. It's at about 14min30 ua-cam.com/video/nnoiCbWABEw/v-deo.html Hope it can help.

Puma the best 👌
We also enjoy our puma very much and think it's good for what we do with it. Air con & heated front seats are a must ;)

It makes sense, but I never eared about this procedure. Will make some search about it. Thanks

Definitely not critical but good practice non the less

Thanka for sharing. Love this feed.
Thanks!
Good info ,well done , by the way you're truck is way too clean.
It's true it's quite clean these days 🤔
Last time use Motul 5w30, specification Ford.
It's good to follow the specification and ask a professional if you plan to take another one :)
Graet Info👍

Nice video. Sorry about the expensive cheaply made Land Rover.
Thanks!

Happy it helped! Why would we put oil in our fuel?
Can I ask what is the best oil to get for puma 2.4 engines , is synthetic 5w-40 shell Rotel good for the engine ?
Note the coolant expansion tank that you cannot see through, and have to struggle to view the level when cold. Oh shame.
Not perfect but we know quite well our Defender after all those years, we try to upgrade its imperfections but not always possible ;)

PURFLEX is the OEM manufacturer of the filter body they make a far superior filter cartridge compared to the LR one.
I don't know about pureflex but for oilfilters we decided to keep the LR one.
Oh dear. Land Rover / Ford went real cheap on the oil filter housing and filler plug. What other stuff have they diminished ?
Certainly a few other pieces ;)
Oil plug o-rings are available in a packet of x 10.

Great video is it only one oil filter? I heard 2 oil filters? 2.2 L engine also use the same oil filter?

Have you ever tested whether it's really worth it to purchase a Dooxi Car Adaptation products?
I don't know. What is it?

What's the "correct amount" of oil?
It should be in the workshop manual, we put 6.85 liters
13MM drain plug - real LR's have 1&1/8 drain plugs
On the LR Defender 2.4 TDCi it is a 13mm drain plug.
