  • @MoeTheG
    @MoeTheG Рік тому +3

    If you’re chasing after the “burn/pump” do what he’s saying
    If you really wanna grow your delts do this:
    First of all you don’t need a day for them, just spread them out throughout your main muscle group days (back & biceps(rear delts), chest & triceps(front delt), legs(side delts)
    Front delts: Gets trained during chest day so no need for an exercise. If you insist on doing them, just do one front delt press exercise (machine is highly recommended than dambells)
    Rear delts: One exercise during back day since you already hit it during your back workout. I’d recommend reverse rear delt fly machine/dambells.
    Side delts: Just do a side lateral raise exercise (do machine if your gym got one).
    That’s it !!!
    No need to kill yourself with million exercises and fatigue yourself inefficiently.

    • @Moin.R
      @Moin.R Рік тому

      Really? That's it? The shoulders are the biggest muscle in the body, shouldn't it have a designated day? Plus training muscles to failure causes hypertrophy so please elaborate on how this will only help with the pump

    • @MoeTheG
      @MoeTheG Рік тому +1

      @@Moin.R
      Really ? “The shoulders are the biggest muscle in the body”? I think you meant in the upper body. Anyways, I agree with you that training your muscles to failure will cause hypertrophy. The question is, do you need a designated day, AND, to do all these exercises to reach hypertrophy ?
      -The delts is divided into 3 muscles.
      *anterior deltoids (front delts)
      *lateral deltoids (side delts)
      *posterior deltoids (rear delts)
      2 of these muscles are being worked during certain muscles group days.
      *You got the anterior delts (front delts) getting activated HEAVILY during your chest day. I even would argue that a lot of people have this muscle over developed. If you don’t think you’ve reached muscle failure, (which honestly I doubt) you can add one of your favorite front delt exercises to reach failure. Anything you do beyond that point is just non productive as the muscle had already reached failure.
      *You got the posterior delts(real delts) getting activated during your back day. I would say adding one rear delt exercise after your back exercises should have that muscle reach hypertrophy.
      *You got the lateral delts (side delts). This is the one that needs the attention the most since none of the mentioned muscle group days mentioned above activates it. I normally hit it during leg day (usually before I start with legs, and optionally another at the end of legs), but you can choose whatever day you want to include it and train them to failure.
      I believe doing it this way is a lot more effective than giving it a day. Part of the muscle growth process is allowing recovery. The muscle needs 48hrs to 72hrs to recover post-workout. Will your shoulders have enough recovery time if you incorporate a designated day for them in your weekly workout routine as opposed to spreading it out like mentioned above ?
      Going back to the chasing after the “burn/pump”. I stand by what I said. Doing all of these super-setting exercise will make you feel a good “burn/pump”, but will it get you to hypertrophy ? First of all, feeling the burn/pump and reaching failure that way doesn’t mean you will be reaching hypertrophy. I could put on lower weights and do an exercise until I feel a burning sensation and reach failure, will that get me to hypertrophy ? Would you agree with me that in order to grow muscle you would need progressive overload ? Do you know how tough it is to do progressive overload with these super-setting exercises ? It’s tough! Why do it ? And he’s got exercises where he’s doing one side at a time, so you’re already tired by the time you get to the other side which means sloppy form or might not finish the reps. Also doing those “one side at a time exercises” take double the time if you did both, so here you are at the gym instead of doing 1 hr, you’re here for 2 hrs, r you could be doing them faster but will you be able to progressive overload ?
      Just focus on one exercise for each muscle (still talking about shoulders) and with training to failure, progressive overload, and enough rest times between sets, you will absolutely reach hypertrophy.
      I apologize for my too long response but I am very passionate about this subject and I always like to share my opinion.
      Thanks if you made it through btw lol.

    Honestly this video helped me get over my embarrassment of not being able to do dumbbell lat raises at super high weights cuz he was using 20s (not in a bad way I’m just new to the gym)

    I did the rowing for rear delts with resistance bands. That was incredible. You must REALLY also focus on pushing your arms OUTWARDS and not just backwards. ❤

    These videos are on point! I would say maybe they could be just a little bit longer? Like maybe just slow them down just a little? I know I could do that on my end but in all honesty these deserve more time. 👍

    It's crazy to think Davis used to be a pro Strongman with an 800+ deadlift. What a transformation he has made.
