I have PTSD and a lot of social anxiety that makes finding a job hell. Most jobs require you to talk to people which I’m able to do, but really exhausts me. A job where I don’t have to talk to anyone and repeat similar tasks is not good for everyone, but for me it’s prefect.
EDIT: thanks for the likes guys!! Thought I’d give an update…
I’ve been working somewhere else for a few months now. Amazon was good, definitely not perfect. I think it’s depends on your site, your task, management team and your peers. My fulfilment centre was small and did not have a lot of the new technology, we moved a lot of stuff manually and it was too physically straining for me.
I agree. This job is a blessing to many.
You’re not alone !
“Most jobs require you to talk to people which I’m able to do, but really exhausts me.” I feel that all over well said
Same brother
I applied to Amazon and I’m like hopefully nobody will talk to me I just want to work😣
For those that starting at Amazon, ima give you an update on how its going for me. It's been over a month since i've started working with them, you don't have to deal with customers and 9/10 times (as long as you don't screw up) you will hardly see your managers/supervisors. It's hard work but as he mentions in the video, it's easy work. Headphones aren't allowed BUT if you have a neck gaiter, you can wear it and hide your airpods in it and listen to music while you're working, just don't get caught lmao.
I personally love it and it's perfect for people that don't want to deal with the general public and the karens.
Also, I start my new role as a learning ambassador next week! So if you work hard and show up on time, they promote extremely quick!
well said, just don't get caught lol.
How many call outs (calling in to work to tell you them you can't show up for the shift) before you get in trouble or written up?
@@cameronbarnes4157 what state are you in and did you get a raise for the learning ambassador position??

Thank you 🙏🏽 God bless you and your family 😌
I love it very organized .
This is very interesting and helpful. Thank you!
Great video.. loved all the details and clear views. Love how you placed the camera on the shelves, great view from that location.
Awesome, thank you!
Okay, I'm only a few seconds in but I just wanted to make a comment about the quality of this freaking video it's just fantastic wow
Thanks for this video. This one is more informative and picture convenient. I start on the 10th and I’m excited and ready

@@Servant1666 just be ready to take on your new career. It’s an easy job 1-2 weeks in once your body gets use to the labor. Hope you enjoy it and stay positive 🖤
Good job on this video Sugar Dad. Very informative
Great video I’m on my 4th week and I already had a “Viking moment” at my facility in Caledonia. I love it so far and I hope everyone has good managers like I do. I believe they make or break your experience at any fulfillment center.
I’m from the Caledonia location as well. Just started last week. Go Vikings! I’m Inbound Stow.
@@ForrestGump1212 my manager is amazing! I haven’t had a manager like him ever. I wish there were more people like my manager in this world. Who actually pays attention to there crew. He’s always asking about my foot cause I have a bad foot. He’s always coming around to make sure I’m good. He’s also very good at training people. Like my first week I was so lost. I had no idea what I was doing. Lol 😂 the trainers didn’t really train you they just stood there and asked me questions if I knew this or that. I’m like “Um no” lol 😂 a 5 minute video ain’t gonna train me. So after a few days my manager started to come around to every station and gave us tips on how to stow better and faster. I wish there was more like him around.
@Zac D Hey man I wanted to see how your work has been going for you lately. I’ve been looking to apply at the Caledonia location, as it’s the closest to me.
@@TheDinkledorf its peak so its tough but the money is nice. I still enjoy it!
To follow up he doing a new thing every week now where we get a post card and we write out our goals for the week on it like our rates and stuff like that. I think it’s awesome cause now people can’t slack around.
Im from Ontario Canada and his description on everything is very spot on
Idk if anyone would care but I’ll tell you what I just did for my first day. Just to be clear I only did customer returns today nothing else. So you walk in get your badge then they walk you to a room where you sit for 5 hours and watch video on what to do and not to do. Heads up get a seat in the back lol my neck still hurts from looking up. You take a 30 minute launch break between the 5 hours. Then you go on a Tour of the factory then after that they show you everything you will be doing. All you have to do on the computer is basic self explanatory stuff of the job you will be doing. It’s okay to Ask questions they know you don’t know anything and you don’t want to just stand there looking like a deer in the headlights. If you want me to go in depth of the job just tell me and I’ll respond
Great feedback! Of course we care. It’s helpful

Sounds like my kind of workplace 👍🏼
Just subscribed to your channel. I really enjoy the Sugar family! Congrats! questions: 1) if you can’t or shouldn’t carry your phone, when do you know your times for paid or unpaid breaks? 2) iHow loud is the warehouse, say for a person who has a hearing problem and where her hearing device is not suited for spaces that have continual incessant noise level? 3) are you still working at amz, and if not, how did it prepare you for your next stage career work?
1. you can have your phones in your pocket. the area manager will tell you the break and lunch times. it's the same time every shift. 2. it's not loud, but there are area's where there's a constant sound of air flow. like the air flow sound by the entrance of grocery stores, that blocks the bugs from coming in. when you speak to someone standing next to you there's no need to yell. 3. i left last year in december. The area i'm in now does not have a warehouse nearby. it helped me to be humble, i truly appreciate the opportunity and experience. I knew it's not something I wanted to do long term and helps me understand how the process works whenever i buy something on amazon. it's definitely not for everyone, but it's not a bad job as some may say. just different.
Thank you for the information ☺️
Thank you this was sooooooo helpful!

I think Amazon would be a better company if they allow people to be more comfortable at work. Allowing people to feel comfortable, safe and a sense of belonging can make a huge difference.

I'm on my day 7 of working in amazon. I used to do out-bound wall building and some times water spidering for the first couple days. Now i'm a learning ambassador. I know, its crazy to get promoted that quickly but my tip is to work really hard but dont push yourself too much. Just do the hourly targets and be punctual. And the most important thing is to be friendly to people, If someone needs help, you should help them especially if one of the managers needs it.
Nice work!
I started working at Amazon and I’m someone who overthinks a lot lol so the only thing I’m wondering is how to even get started. I did my safety training and orientation and starting hands on work on Friday. I’m not sure what position imma be in or where to go as soon as I arrive.

COMING FROM WALMART from the floor to management being ALONE is perfect. I HATE having to have my job rely on someone NOT DOIING THERES. Can't tell you how many times i would pull a 15 hour work day to come in the next night and only have to clean up after them again. NOTHING kills my motivation for work like being FORCED to clean up after another person. THEY WONT DO THEIR END and bitch the whole night while you pick up the slack. OH you came in a 4 am. There is 8 pallets of frozen in the freezer and the frozen dairy truck gets here at 8! GOOD LUCK! By yourself! This may be JUST the thing for me. I signed on for picker. 3 12's and to be honest. I am kind of excited.
Oh man, I know exactly how you feel. Let me be by myself!!
How is it going??
Same here
I think walmart needs to improve there employee treatment to get them where they want for BOTH sides. Way to much adjustments(one sided af also), inconsistencies and incompetence that leads to uncertainty. I had to solve everything myself because of hollow managers who feel the need to put others under stress because they are stressed.
I'm at walmart too I'm thinking about jumping ship. I prefer not interacting with too many people
I was cheering when you said easy and repetitive
Me too my interview is wed. I like boring. I hate having to learn new shit
@@momfromnj911 GL, hope you picked a good schedule because I butchered mine, working everyday except Wednesday with 3 doubles in a row, had to quit after about 2 months to save what was left of my legs, but now im working at wegmans part-time, 20 hours a week, kinda glad I did fuck up my schedule cus its way better here, worth the $2 decrease in wage, and all I have to do is splash water on dirty dishes

Packer look easy then being a stow yesterday i start as a stower its ok but i would like to learn how train being a packer
3:43 those original clippers bringing back the good old days when i met cool people. My first days and months. I got laid off recently. I worked there for 1 year and 2 months. I was always top 10 rate employees. But that doesn’t matter. Depending on certain days, you’d get a slow rate due to slow work or no supplies. In 2022, amazon was the slowest it’s ever been. They laid off many employees. It sucks a lot, because i know some people like me were hard workers as well. Now we gotta look for jobs to pay rent.
sorry to hear that, i hope you find another opportunity soon!
I just started today and we were stowing items all day. I was kind of interested in operating some of the machinery like forklifts and other stuff. Is there a way I can be put on that stuff or do I have to transfer departments?
if you are a blue badge you can put in a request to change jobs. the job has to be available in order to transfer to a different position. i would try calling HR and see how it's done. i've never done it myself but i've seen people move to different departments .
I work in a Delivery Station which is waayy easier than an FC but it is interesting to learn!
What do you do at a delivery station? I thought the only jobs available there are delivery driving positions?
U made it soo much easier
i hope so!
Awesome video
Hey man quick question, would it matter if i took my breaks at times, for example, my breaks are usually at 10:30 pm and everyone else leaves for break at 10:00 pm and there is no work for me, would it affect me clocking out for my breaks early 30 minutes with everyone else?
Ask your area manager. I’ve seen it where a few people come in during a mid shift so their breaks differ. The manager gives them work while everyone else is on break. Now if you’re not doing anything while everyone is on break then yeah they can get you in trouble for time off task (TOT) which can be termination. So be sure to ask your manager!
@@HaiandTerrie in your area would you get in trouble for taking a break earlier than what your original break time was? Since mine is at 10:30 and everyone elses is at 10:00 i want to take it the same as theres just so i dont have to worry about just standing there lol
Yeah we would get in trouble. Quite a few times I see people leaving to lunch 3-5 mins early and the managers will make an announcement telling them we have to leave at exact time.
Im surprised that Amazon even allowed you to release this. At my facility, they are super strict about not wearing earbuds while working. Heck, im even surprised that you got away with having the camera inside the building as well.
Yeah you sound like a Amazon snitch
All depends on the manager. Majority I feel like are cool with it. You just got unlucky with a shit manager maybe
Sound like a snitchhhhhh
What a piece of sht! I considered working at a warehouse during my studies. Amazon gives $1 more / hour than its competitive, but the competitive allows me to use headbuds! And its not crazy fast, you can take break whenever you want! I pass this one
I think because he works in an FC but different in. Sortation centre or perhaps he quit the job
All of these jobs sounds great, i hate interacting with people and this sounds perfect
Might be for you 😃
I loved rebinning we would often race each other!
really? thats a tough one for me, but i see some people try to go super saiyan on rebinning. i like packing, it's more relax

Love your video. Gives a lot of good information. There was a mix-up when I first attended my orientation they must I missed me. I did completed all my training. But do not have a schedule. How long does it take amazon to complete your schedule. I have a blue badge.
your schedule is the first thing that you select during the application process. do you remember selecting days of the week and seeing available hours to select from? awesome, blue badge means you're a permanent employee and not temporary or seasonal!

Just to add Your video have helped me so much and thank you , thank you
@@marilynfulgona4216 have you set up and appointment for the photo ID? when you get your photo ID taken, they're going to let you know your exact start date.
Hello, great video ~ Does Amazon require back-to-back 12 hour shifts only or are you allowed to work standard, 8 hour shifts? I've heard stories of people having to work 3-4 days in a row of 12 hour shifts and that seems very physically demanding. I am 57 years old and wonder if I'm allowed more days of work in a given week but with shorter shifts; so am I allowed to do that ~ (???) Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Typically it’s 2-4 days a week with longer shifts. During the application process you will see exactly what shifts are available, and the total hours a week. You basically select your schedule during the application process. Watch my part 1 video to see how to apply. from my experience The only Amazon location with short hours are Whole Foods.
@@HaiandTerrie OK ~ Thanks very much!

Good informative vid... I start at Amazon tomorrow 😬
That’s great to hear! Thanks for watching. I hope you have a wonderful first day
Do they train well? And are your daily work areas clearly laid out to you? I’m worried that I’ll be confused as to where to go in such a big place
some trainers (learning ambassador as they call them) are very thorough. some just throw you in there and only help when a problem occurs. good thing is that the majority of the jobs are very simple. the work area is not clearly labeled, but it's typically very easy to learn. the difficult part is that it's very repetitive so it can get extremely boring. delivery stations on the other hand can be much more fast pace and demanding. your first week you're with your new hire group and trainer. they will tell you where to report each day.
The position that I just applied for in Warehouse Shopper/Team Member. I used to work as a Seasonal Amazon Prime Shopper at Whole Foods last year. Working at whole foods allowed you to have one headphone in to listen to music and shop around in the grocery aisle and pack the ambient, frozen items up and put them in the right location so that way the Amazon Delivery team can pick it up delivery the items. Being a seasonal amazon prime time shopper, I was basically the middle person before the delivery team delivers everything. How is it as a Warehouse/ Shopper Team Member? Am I still going to be shopping around like I was at Whole Foods? I'm in New York City btw. Is there any difference with these positions? Thank you for your response in advance!
honestly, i never worked at the whole foods division. from what i have seen the whole foods position near my area only offers 1 day a week/flex hours. where i work it was called Amazon Fulfillment Center.
@@HaiandTerrie Thank you for responding. I'm assuming the Warehouse is basically like the Amazon Fulfillment Center. How are the shifts? Can you work four five hour shifts at a time? Or does it have it to be 8 to 10 hours? Can you choose to make your own schedule at the Amazon Fulfillment Center?
@@realizenreality most shifts i have seen are 9-10.5 hours . I am part time. i only work 2 days a week. 20 hours a week. it doesn't change. you select your shift during the application process on Amazon Force. check my Amazon Part 1 Video for how to steps and link.
I applied twice for this position and was turned down. Didn't seem like any special needs were needed and my schedule was fully open. Now I'm at Amazon.
Was there anything you feel would help next time I apply?
Lol at least now I can say I have warehouse experience
Ok Ive been at amazon for a month now and u have helped me with info more than anyone at my sight lol. Please let me know when does vacation accrue i just got converted to blue badge from seasonal and haven’t received it but in the papers i signed it mentioned it
Is there a way to change your schedule on the first day ? I want to see if I can work a different shift
not that i know. more than likely they will tell you to resign and reapply for a different shift. they're not very accommodating. but it's worth asking the HR office. there should be an HR office in your warehouse
I only lasted there 4-5months. They don't let you talk to your coworkers or have any music playing.. physically not a hard job at all, but I noticed that my mental health crashed hard by the end of the 2nd month. I would've loved to be able to have at least one earbud in just to listen to something other than the loud machinery.
You’re absolutely right.
I'll bet the loud machinery is better than listening to Top 40 crap with the same playlist playing over and over every day with Taylor Swift and Katy Perry screaming their crap in your ear. I'd rather listen to machines droning and banging any day of the week. This beats retail I am sure.
Why tf can't you have an earbud in stupidest rule ever
New building ways of doing things is so weird. Rebin is strange at that FC. Old school buildings you are surrounded by 3 rebin carts, a giant robo cart piled full of usually 100s of items, you scan each item and put them on one of the three carts. Then it gets wheeled to a pack location or packer. Also strange that your FC uses boxes only rather than also using poly bags and jiffies.
Excellent💯👍.
Thank you 👍
If I decide to bring my own book bag does it have to be clear and transparent or can it be any color? Also will get in trouble if I decide not to use a locker?
It has to be clear and transparent. You don’t have to use the lockers. You won’t get in trouble for not using them.
@@HaiandTerrie What about a clear fanny pack, can I keep it on me while I work?
yes, you can carry that. i've seen most people just set it by their side on the floor as some of the work requires a lot of movement.
hi! do you have any idea on what to do in vendor returns? im watching your videos from step1-3😅 so i can get some ideas. ill be starting soon
I haven't done vendor returns. I'm not familiar with that position. good luck on your first day and congrats on your new job.
well! ill just keep on watching your videos about what you do and how you do your job 😅 Thank you
great video.
🙏👍
Thank you I start on the 19 of this month I am nervous
it's normal, especially if you've never worked in a warehouse setting. hope you have a great first day.
So I recently got hired and my first day is the 20th, I was told at the hiring event that I’d be making 17.20 an hour for overnight premium but the emails about my hiring say that I’ll be making 16.70, who would I take this up with on my first day?
You didn’t see any additional numbers in the offer letter next to the words “shift Differential (if applicable)”? Also when you originally applied for the position did you see that it showed $17.2? I would call HR. Log back into your Amazon force and the HR number should be at the bottom.
Hey seabass have some troubles did they fixed yours?
No mention of the mandatory (MET) overtime? That actually violates labour laws here in Canada. An employer can't force you to work over 40 hours a week unless you agree to it. I was just handed a revised contract stating that there will be MET at my site.
from my experience during the holidays and during the week of Prime day is where MET pops up. if you're a full timer, they want you to work 1 extra day (on top of your regular 40 hours week). also we would come in 1 extra hour early in the morning too. so if you were scheduled Sun-Wed 7AM-6PM, during holidays and "peak season" we would have to come in Sun-Wed + 1 extra day 6AM-6PM. hope that helps.
