In 1984 I worked at McDonalds for $3.35 an hour and no benefits or time off. They could send you home any time they wanted and you got a half price meal. That was 37 years ago. My rent was $225 a month for a one bedroom furnished and utilities paid. No phone or cable. I drove a 1975 Chevy pickup that I borrowed $3000 to pay for.

To put 'bling in a bag'.
I pack, rebin, indict (not any more) and pick. So it's more like 'I scan bar codes'.
During Peak 2021, my take home pay checks are around $1500 per week (no federal taxes taken out as I pay that during tax season myself).
I have degrees and was studying law before I realized the world is ending...and look, it is. lol
If I was upwardly mobile I'd be an AM by now or higher but, it I wanted good money over easy money, I'd go back to corporate work. The job is mindless and you don't have to talk to people, talk on the phone, operate a computer or anything complex... It's the equivalent of bending over and picking up a quarter every time you do.
What do u do now?
Best thing is to stay out of debt so that one can have options
My son went from working hard on a hay farm to being a package driver for Amazon for one dollar more an hour. He loved it at first but that love quickly wore off. As he kept making his delivery time goals each week, they kept pushing him more and more without any bonuses. It was never good enough. He was working 12 hour shifts. He was exhausted, going up flights up stairs carrying packages daily.
The better he was, they more they worked him until he completely gave out. Once he tripped on a step and he was terrified to tell management so he wouldn't get yelled at n get a mark against him or get fired. I cleaned his elbow and super glued his elbow skin together and put butterfly stitches on it send sent him back to work.
A year later, after 2 years of no raises, tighter goals to meet, no recognition for safety, and reaching his goals, he gave up n quit.Km

Hey love the videos man, my pre hire appointment is on Wednesday and hopefully it goes fine. I do have a question though , I’ve done the math and being paid 15 while let’s say working 24 or 25 hours a week , wouldn’t that bring bring home around 300 something with taxes ? Because I’m seeing 200 something on 32 hours on your screen so I’m highly confused. If you don’t mind me asking. Have a great day sir.
the hours column that you're seeing is combinging my regular hours $15 and my incentive hours $3.5 together. so to get the accurate hours that i actually worked just divide the hours you see by 2. i have no idea why they combine it like that. for example i work 16 hours, my pay is $15 and i get a $3.5 incentive for my shift. so in total i make $18.5 an hr. on the screen you saw, amazon combined 16 hrs which is for my regular pay of $15 and another 16 hours for my $3.5 incentive pay, thus displaying the 32 hrs. but in actuality i only worked 16 hours. 16 x $18.5 = $296 (before taxes). watch it again and pause it on the screen. i hope that helps!
How are you only grossing 372 at 40 hours? That should be around 600, right?
What does non worked paid time mean? Does that mean I will be getting paid or not? *for those wondering* I was supposed to start on the 29th of July but the building opening got delayed 2 weeks so amazon said that they were going to compensate for it
yes you will get paid. it basically means you're going to get paid even though you're not working. it happened at my warehouse when we were scheduled to work but had to close for 2 days due to a hurricane. also if you have racked up enough paid time off hours then you could use them and it would be categorized as non worked paid.

1.5 points for calling off. .5 point for 5 min late. 1 point if you're more than 30 mins late. i believe after 6 points they let you go. points expire after 90 days from when you received them.

deadass?
its expectations. some people go in thinking it's going to be like working retail at old navy so they end up quitting the first week or day. most positions are very easy to do and you pick it up quickly. the problem is that you do the same thing repetitively for 10 hours+ with no music allowed and often times little to no walking. boredom starts to kick in and time passes slow. but look on the other side, consider it a blessing that you found work!

It’s not that hard to hit rate if you’re packing. Don’t doubt yourself. Just give it a try. They don’t fire you left and right for not hitting rate. I’ve worked with so many that don’t hit rate. Many times your rate is dependent on others. So many times it’s even out of your control. I’ll explain in the next video or 2. $15+ an hour and hiring during the holidays, I would take it. They don’t fire you so easily for rate, it takes time and they give you a chance people just usually quit because the work is crazy hard

you would have to pick up shifts to get more hours. there should be plenty to pick up especially with the fall season coming. as for moving to full time, i don't have knowledge of it. maybe someone will see this comment and give us some feedback.
@@FinanceFaithFamily thanks so you just do one day of orientation ? And then you just pick up shifts ?
@@jayinvestments163 when you apply online you see will see what shifts/jobs are available. whatever you choose will be your schedule. you basically choose the available schedule during the application process. orientation is online, consist of watching videos and answering questions on the computer. I did it at home. once you're hired you can check if there are available extra shifts through their app, Amazon A to Z.
I should start tonight lol wish me luck 🤣
I hope you have a great first night.
@@FinanceFaithFamily thankyou me 2 😂
Hi Terrie. I watched your videos about Amazon warehouse work. And I have some questions, can I have? If you don't mind. Firstly,You now I filled all papers and sent to stuffing agency. And sent to me the contract,I signed and sent back to agency. A few days ago I received letter regarding my visa information. And I would like to compare with your papers , of course if it is possible. Help me, because I am planning to move to Dubai Amazon warehouse.
Thank you.
i'm not familiar with international policies.
$345 a week that’s it? How can people say it’s good to there
I was thinking the same thing , I know people at a dollar general market that get paid more than for 30 hours a week
$345 for 2 days of work isnt that bad?
@@Vvsectomy did you not read the comment?
@@BruceLee-dp9sj Did you not watch the video?
@@BruceLee-dp9sj it’s $345 for two days. Divide the hours by 2. If it says he worked 30 hours he really worked 15 hours
Why do they use military time?
No idea
Likely for automated payroll. This helps for the 12 hour RT shifts. Otherwise you clock in at 6 and clock out at 6:30 when you are really clocking in at 0600 and clocking out at 1830. With Amazon associates, military time is probably saving HR and Payroll about 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 unneeded questions. Hah!
How long you been working at amazon? And how do you like it?thanks
I worked there for a total of 5 months. My position in AFE was easy and it was good overall. My experience was a good one while I was there.
Do they have refrigerator for Amazonians to keep food before lunch
Yes they do
@@FinanceFaithFamily thnk you
Are you allowed to listen to music while working? Because the day would go a lot faster if you could
amazon does not allow headphones, or airpods. yes it would make a world of difference.
Is there overtime avaliable during the rest of the year? Not just towards the holidays
prime day in the summer. i think it's mostly holidays.
Flex is what you want if you want to work overtime, can work up to 12 hrs per day but I think there's a 60hr cap. Gotta apply for it through the app.
What about if you need days off? How does that work?
If you have Paid time off that you accumulated then you can use it. If not then you can go to the Amazon AZ app and click where it says request time off. If it’s a last minute thing then you will take a hit by losing 1.5 pts for every absence. 6 points is max. After 6 pts they let you go.
@@FinanceFaithFamily what if someone wants to take a vacation?
@@arminius4986 you can request off through the amazon A to Z app (which is like HR on your phone)
@@FinanceFaithFamily yes I know but the points bro... you know
@@FinanceFaithFamily Wait so they deduct points for requesting the days off? or they only deduct if you dont show up?
I applied, it says you get paid every Friday. My schedule is Sun-Thurs. Does that mean the first week, I’ll get paid that Friday. Or how long does it take to get your first paycheck?
it's been a while so i have forgotten, but i'm quite sure it's for the previous week.
No you get paid the week after so basically for your first week you’ll get paid on the second week and the second week you work you’ll get payed for it on the third week and it just keeps going on like that
Do you know if full time seasonal employees get VET or MET or that lightening extra pay?
believe you do. i was a white badge employee (not permanent) and i was offered VET and lightning shifts.
@@FinanceFaithFamily Thank You!
Hey man I recently applied and about to start my first day within the next days! For my position I am a $21.05/ hour employee, unfortunately on the A - Z app it shows as just $17.55/ hour , is this just base pay? I’m confused 😕 My differential pay is $3.50 / hour ?
what does your offer letter say?
@@FinanceFaithFamily it’s says $21.05, but shows as $17.55 on A-Z
@@froylangonzalez836 you will get 21.05 because the base pay plus your differential adds up to 21.05
Wait, so you can basically work any day you want? And as many hours as your want? If it is available of course
So long as you don’t go over 60 hours and the extra time is available, yes. You’d still have to work your schedule shift, but the extra time you can choose whatever day or time slot
@@FinanceFaithFamily makes sense now, thanks!
nah yo, what did i apply for, there's no way im losing my faith working here
