Im almost making a year at a fulfillment center because I started off nights it took a really long time to get used to sleeping schedules here are some tips for newbies that I wish I knew beforehand: 1. Stay hydrated before shift take electrolytes and carry Advil if needed 2. If you have any previous surgeries or injury buy a compression sleeve for that part I wear a knee one and it took pain away 3. You have to break into the steel toe shoes there’s no way around it soak feet after work and buy epsom salt if needed and buy cushion gel for heels 4. I switched to Flex and am
Really happy with their program I pick when I want to work and if at the last minute I can’t I don’t go in just be mindful of attendance 5. Buy a portable fan for summer time 6. Find what you like and do the best you can do and they will keep you in that department I worked hard to be in packing and it’s the best 7. In summary it took 4 months for my body to get used to the work and it took 6 months for my mental to adjust now that I’m about to make a year work is a breeze I would recommend it

I'm in pack flow at Amazon. It's alright, I just really boring. I would like the job more if I was allowed to listen to music. I don't understand why they are so against it. All we do is pick items and put them into boxes.

I’ve worked in the DS and it’s a physical/mentally nut show. I went back to delivering. Great benefits inside though.

I use to Deliver for an Amazon Dsp,loved delivering those packages a lot unfortunately my Dsp's contract to deliver was cancelled, im starting at a Amazon warehouse as a package shorter and filling totes and staging them in the warehouse so the drivers can load them on the vans to deliver them to the Customers. I hope to someday soon get the opportunity to work for another Dsp and deliver packages again.
can u tell me about what an amazon deliverer does other than delivering packages? and are there any valid risks (like if someone tries to rob the packages on the van)

@@xochitlahuiayou always be aware of your surroundings while delivering. If it’s a sketchy place, always take your keys, park in light and lock your doors.
@@xochitlahuia You have a time limit to complete your delivery route, plus you will always be recorded, you can take short and quick breaks to eat or urinate, you cannot steal packages because they will know that it was you who had to deliver them in addition to the cameras, if you steal is a permanent ban from Amazon

within 5 years the picking and packing jobs will have robots that can successfully do those tasks, I think the jobs which lead to injuries will be taken over by robots in that time. Robots are great for the 3"D"s of work: Dull, Dangerous and Dirty.

@@haroon3414 it should be Amazon jobs.com or Amazon careers, I only worked there about 2 months because it was seasonal just for the holidays, but I think they are still hiring in other areas, you have to check out the site and see 👍.

@@celenajones6352 it was ok, thx for asking but it was only seasonal, they let a lot of people go after the holidays unfortunately so I only ended up staying about 3 months, those 12 hour overnights 4 days a week were pretty rough, it took me a a week and a couple days to get used to it but it was fun, good people and we got paid pretty good. Im trying to get back in as a regular but my application is still pending.
