    I watched your videos before my training and I went in knowing most of what they told me. We dont have to tape the top though and we use paper to fill the top (I dont think we use bubble wrap anymore). I was reaching 44 boxes an hour my first day with 0 quality error marks against me on Friday. (Our rate is around 60 I believe). Thank you :)

    The battery label location is wrong, must be a location training thing.
    Gift receipts are called P-Slips
    Shipping labels are placed on by a Slam machine or a SLAP Packer.
    At old school FCs, you dont get a chart. You dont follow the box suggestion, because most are wrong. We choose what we want, know what it'll be closest to to how tight the product will fit in the box.
    You can make rate super fast, if you actually go faster.

    I would like a video about how you put stuff in boxes. What I mean is, how you deal with different sized items, items of different densities (let's say you pack a brick and box of pencils) and heaviness, and items of different levels of fragility. I've watched several of these out of curiosity and I was shocked how many were just tossed in big boxes (that the computer selects) loose and with no packing material.

    • @HaiandTerrie

      that's a great idea. i will try to post a video about this to give the customers an idea of how their packages are packed. the computer has no compassion, if you order a 12 pack of gatorade or cat litter with your kids school supplies...the computer is going to put it all in the same box.

      @@HaiandTerrie Funny, but your reply came just as I was wondering how an Amazon order works from me placing an order online to the moment it is delivered. I don't know if you could that, but I'm curious. I don't want to work at Amazon, but I'm curious about them since I'm kind of dependent on them.
      BTW: I can remember a long time ago when Amazon only sold books and I think I still connected to them with dial-up.

      i do remember those days. i sound old just saying that. yes i do remember amazon only selling books, that's all they were known for...buying college books and selling them for 1/3 of the price you bought them for 4 months later lol.

    GE. Your videos are very informative. I have accommodation for my hands and back. I have been working at pack single for five months I was told they want a 90 rate every hour some I make 80 or fee times 70. When the boxes are heavy to life my rate may come down to 67. Which I am trying to improve. My problem is basically the paper dunnage. If I put one or two papers on it. it is not enough. When you put more the boxes get kick out. That's basically my issues right now. Thanks to that I got the majority information from your video. Some of the ambassadors don't really train you.

    Thank you so much. I have learned more from your videos than l did during my first week, which was HORRIBLE!!! Tape dispenser kept on getting jammed and some stations were on auto and some not which was throwing me off. They kept on moving us to different stations during the night which really screwed up my rate. Day one was in my 30s, day two in the 40s and day three in the 50s. Maybe l am too old for this job???

    • @HaiandTerrie
      @HaiandTerrie  2 роки тому +1

      thanks for the kind comments. it may be helpful just to ask someone close by when you don't know what to do. i did that plenty of times. if you were at the job for a month you were considered a veteran. i wouldn't worry too much on rate. just do your best and learn the process. learn how to solve a problem when it comes up and you'll be fine. run out of boxes? learn to go get them yourself and not wait on the water spiders. missing an item? learn to bypass and skip it so that the problem solve team will figure it out.

    Sometimes the item is smaller than the box, so it is suggested to break the box a few levels, from the sides, from top to bottom. But i find this to cost too much time and i was wondering if you can skip this without getting into trouble ? Thanks for advices.

    • @HaiandTerrie
      @HaiandTerrie  Рік тому

      if the item is way smaller than the box you will have to select incorrect size box on the keyboard and choose a box that fits better. if you just put the item into another box without going through the computer, then it goes against you. you will get a notification on your screen telling you not to do that. sometimes i just throw the item in the box anyway and pack it. if the computer says to put a pack of pens in a 36'x 20 box then so be it. i'll throw in some bubble wrap and move on to the next. i wouldn't worry about the item being too small for the box. i would worry about the box being too small for the item.

    Hi,
    I do stowing now and it is hurting my back a little and knee. so thinking transfer to pack single but your video this is also a not a easy job. very fact pace packing. have you ever done stowing? which is better? ( I am a short person 5.3) thank you

    • @HaiandTerrie
      @HaiandTerrie  4 місяці тому +1

      i have never done stowing but when i was at amazon we had some people come from stowing. They like AFE dept because there were 3 jobs in that area. packing, rebin, induct. most people seem to like packing as it was quite easy. I personally did not like rebin because it requires a lot of twisting and turning around..grabbing things from the converyer and putting them into the shelves behind you, and beside you. induct was probably the easiest most boring position IF you had a helper. if you have to induct 2 conveyer lines it can be very difficult.

    I'm debating transfering from a sort center to fulfillment. would you recommend?

    • @HaiandTerrie
      @HaiandTerrie  2 роки тому +1

      absolutely! sortation centers are more hectic. my wife was there for 1-2 months. seems like the only available shifts in sortation centers are overnight... fulfillment centers are larger, more jobs, more shifts. when i picked up extra hours i got to see how the night team worked at the fulfillment centers. it was SO much more relaxed than the day shift. there were times where i was waiting around 30-45 minutes for work....sneaking my airpods and listening to music. but overall, fulfillment centers in my opinion are more "fulfilling" pun intended. why do you want to switch?

      @@HaiandTerrie Well i just started at the Sort center a few weeks back at a brand new Amazon facility in my city. As of right now, it's very slow and the training is kind of spotty. I'm learning by asking fellow trainees and even they are in the dark half the time.
      I guess I'm debating transferring because i want to be busy and more deliberate with my work instead of running around kind of lost at the sort center.
      I suppose it'll pick up over time as this facility is brand new, but just a thought I've been having.

I just quit after 2 days reason are; like u said computer tells u the box was wrong how the happened? they moved us station to station i complained this to the ambassador some station were they moved u are messed up, system are horrible. And u have to memorize evrthing in 3 days replacing labels,the water for printer, damaged items etc Its very easy but the systems was bad. Im a packer as well like you.
