    Yeah you're right that was a great movie, but you can't always juice. At some point you will have to eat food again, but of course that's after you lose all the weight. So I believe you're correct in saying that eating potatoes was the best way to go.👍

    Thank you for this experiment! I am actually a medical epidemiologist (so doing medical experiments is my job) and I wish more people were doing what you are doing. A question: what type of B12 are you taking? What dose?

    • @SpudFit
      @SpudFit  8 років тому +3

      Wow that's so cool! I wish more people were doing what you're doing :-) For B12 I take a methylcobalamin spray which is 500mcg, I just take it every few days, whenever I remember, probably twice a week I guess.

    Nicely done spuddy. Do you find there are some days that you can really pack them away, but other days your appetite has you wondering if you will even be able to put away many calories. I try and let my body tell me what it needs, but still knowing that i have to function physically as well as mentally.

    • @SpudFit
      @SpudFit  8 років тому +1

      Yes I definitely have bigger days and smaller days, doesn't really worry me though, I just try to trust my body.

    Lol spud island!! As I sit here and eat my tato breakfast I'm thinking, do you have a plan for the end of the year?

    • @SpudFit
      @SpudFit  8 років тому +3

      Yes I plan on following a whole foods plant based diet, along the lines of the starch solution.

    I find all you are doing quite fascinating. You have taken charge of your health in a most unorthodox way. Keep the faith 😊 (although it seems I don't doubt you for a second) 💞😊 xx A video suggestion if I may; a look at all you ate in one day.

    • @SpudFit
      @SpudFit  8 років тому +1

      Yes I've been meaning to do that, I just have trouble remembering to film every time I eat!

    • @mikkecaber3918
      @mikkecaber3918 8 років тому +1

      Who says you need to film? If it is easier just write it down and go over it in video. You could do a couple different formats where you discuss in kilos or pounds what and how you did with them or just mention how many plates or how big a plate of such and such potatoes.
      So many just can't understand, eat until you are full and stop, repeat every time you are hungry.

    • @SpudFit
      @SpudFit  8 років тому

      +Mikke Caber very good point, I wouldn't even need to write it down, at the end of the day I can always remember what I've eaten so I could easily just talk about it!

    Thank you for sharing your decision making process. I am wondering if you drink a large amount of water daily? Thanks Andrew! Potato on!

    • @SpudFit
      @SpudFit  8 років тому

      I don't track my water intake, just drink when I feel like it and if my piss is yellow I drink a glass straight away as that's a sign of dehydration.

    • @SophiesChoice01
      @SophiesChoice01 8 років тому +1

      +Spud Fit You drink just fine, it's wonderful. People are over drinking now. There is a test done on over hydrated people and their electrolytes are watered down - for want of not using a technical name. The person is then actually dehydrated from over use of water. Our body is perfect for knowing ' I am thirsty drink ' 😃 also, just another note: mineral water is your very best option.

    For me it was eye opening when (I think, from memory) one of the Vegan Rockstars advised we know enough fibre is in the diet when it takes less time to evacuate our back passage than it does to empty the bladder.
    My seventy-three year old dad has diverticulitis, which can be alleviated or perhaps even prevented with an adequately fibrous diet because there is less stress on the bowel.

    • @SpudFit
      @SpudFit  6 років тому

      can't get too much fibre :-)

    ok, my brother who lives in Florida is overweight and is having symptoms of diabetes is considering trying your all Potatoe diet but he's afraid he'll get tired of potatoes real fast, he's not much of a cook! he works long hours and eats out most of the time.

    The Aussie webpage is
    www.wholefoodsplantbasedhealth.com.au/
    and there are lots of links in this to the sources you mentioned.
    Another reason to choose potatoes is that they are very convenient and transportable.
    Raw they store well for a long time. And cooked they can be kept up to 4 days in the fridge.
    eg Today Im on a train journey of several hours and have cold cooked spuds (slathered in mustard) to sustain me.

    I would like to know, what type of a diet will you follow when the year is over....I am afraid you will gain it all back, if you'll follow a 'standard American diet'. So, did you ever think of becoming a Vegan?

    • @notyouagain1609
      @notyouagain1609 8 років тому +2

      I'm sure he said he's been vegan for 8 years. :)

    • @SpudFit
      @SpudFit  8 років тому +5

      Yes I've been vegan for 8 years now. There's so much vegan junk food available that just being vegan is not enough for me, I'll be following a whole foods, plant based diet.

    Do you use butter on your potatoes ever at all?

    • @SpudFit
      @SpudFit  8 років тому

      Never ever. Butter is terrible stuff, full of fat and cholesterol and extremely calorie dense.

    • @hazelbrown6468

      Not even the Grass fed Kerry Gold Butter so many on UA-cam are saying is so healthy for you?

      +Hazel Brown no way. They've been sucked in by industry bullshit.

    • @SpudFit
      @SpudFit  8 років тому

      +Hazel Brown a study came out a little while ago that concluded that saturated fat "may not be as bad as we thought". They never said it was good but somehow people have decided that means butter is a super health food and we should eat as much as possible. There is zero evidence to support these claims.

      +JOHNNYRAVIOLLI Yes, he has been vegan for 8 years. My husband is overweight due to stress in is business life. Many vegans are overweight for various reasons.

    • @SpudFit
      @SpudFit  8 років тому +1

      Yes I've been vegan for 8 years. On average vegans are certainly skinnier than the general population, I hate to think how big I would have been without it! Veganism certainly doesn't automatically mean you'll be skinny though, there are plenty of obese vegans.

    • @strawberrysnout1072
      @strawberrysnout1072 8 років тому +3

      +JOHNNYRAVIOLLI yeah, I am too 😀 personally my priority as a vegan is cruelty free so delicious vegan deserts and high oil / processed vegan junk foods were fair game lol... it's only now - almost a year later - that I'm looking at my health and fitness. I hope this explains one reason for overweight vegans 😊
