    Setting up the hei module outside the box( the distributors).Very cool.I just brought and msd 8401 ,hei distributor coil in cap delete .Where i purchased an external oil filled 12 volt coil to replace the one in the distributor cap.For coil heat reasons that gradually destroy the epoxy filled hei coil( layer shorting) in cap which slowly destroys the hei ignition module in distributor i hear.Car runs better than it did in a long time.Had to touch the hood of car to see if engine was still running.What does that tell you.Any way nice modifications,awsome idea and video.

      Thanks and I’ll look into that coil. Sounds interesting.

    Now don't forget to open up the gaps on your plugs cuz it has a higher voltage now.

    Cool! I have an old dodge 318 LA. I think the original ignition is toast. It would breakup at higher rpm. Now it doesnt work at all. Which distributor do you recommend?

      It won’t need any special distributor and I just make sure I don’t go too cheap from the parts store.

    What's the small terminal on the module

      That’s one of the two that goes to the distributor.

      I’d say It was a success! A couple mpg better gas mileage and just runs better.

    if you live in a high humid part of the country its a upgrade, moper spark box don't last long always had issues on all my mopor since i was a young guy and so don't my mopar buddy's,

      @stage0garage  Рік тому +1

      I haven’t had a lot of experience with them but the simplicity of the setup and availability/price of the module is a big plus.

      and all car manufacturers recognize it being the best and that is documented, so it is a upgrade stock mopor, and a lot of mopar guys with fully restored old Mopars will take one of them and use them in a hollowed-out stock Mopar ignition control box so it still looks stock with GM parts hiding in it

    That is not a upgrade

      I suppose I could have just said ‘conversion’, but I’ll still go with ‘upgrade’.

    If Dodge built this truck today it would sell like hot cakes.

      Every now and again you do see a Lil Red concept but it never goes anywhere.
