Dissing a small displacement bike about power is like complaining that your car doesn't fly. It's a great bike for the price.

I completely. Agree. I didn't intend to come off that way. My biggest complaint is the top end as a general remark. But at the same time it Is a 300 class bike so the fact it'll go 100mph is absolutely outstanding. It is more than enough to get around legally.

Your experience and expectations are much different than mine. The MT-03 is more made for smaller riders than you are. Certainly bigger riders can and do have this model but it is NOT tailored for larger riders. I am 5ft 5 inches tall man and weigh around 150lbs and the bike fits me well is not cramped at all and the brakes are acceptable for the average rider who the bike was designed for...inexperienced riders, youth and smaller females. For the price point it is a good buy for a new bike with a full warranty. It accelerates well for its engine size. IT IS NOT going to accelerate like my R6 did. I am now 63. I have owned numerous bikes in my life from the CBR900RR to the R6, the Honda VF500, GS750, CB400F to name a few and I bought the thing because insurance is cheap and it is an easy non intimidating bike to ride and because it is much lighter and easier to handle for me. I have not watched any of your other videos nor know anything about you other than what I garnered from this video but sounds like you should have bought a bike with a bigger overall size and a bigger motor. I bought the MT-03 because I am now an old man who knows that his mind can write checks his body can no longer cash. I have been young and dumb and over the years I matured and realized now that it was time to act my age and be wise. Thanks for making the video.

It definitely has its pros for your size. It's a great bike and I enjoyed it but for my size it's not the most practical if I ever have to get on the highway. Recently got a zx6r and it feels more comparable to my size.

I went from 350 2 stroke, 55 bhp, 150 kg, 330 lbs to a sports 600, 95 bhp, 205 kilo, 450 lbs. The extra weight was huge and made the handling much slower for changes of direction.
Looking back I can see I was lucky to have had the time on the much lighter 350 than starting on a 600. Shortly after getting the 600 I accelerated briskly on a city street and a car came from a side road and turned into my path and blocked it. I baked hard, the car driver just froze, made no attempt to undo their blocking of the road, and i was able to brake, steer, slide the rear wheel accidentally, the front was steering safely to the side of the car, but the rear was sliding so it was still going in a line towards the edge of the car. I released the rear brake and it gripped and stepped enough for me to avoid the car.
Way more power, acceleration and weight, which made it harder to get out of trouble. And a lot easier to get into it.

So anyone going to a 600, just a heads up that they are not as maneuverable as a 300.

100% I upgraded to the 636 and was in the exact same scenario. I thought it was a learning curve just get used to it. After about a yeah I got the mt03 back and rode it a few times. It's not as exhilarating speed wise but the handling of the mt03 is amazing and very maneuvers very well

Loved the review! I ride a ‘20 MT03, fully stock. Definitely agree with a lot of what you’ve said. Although, I like the seat! I can go on 2.5-3 hour rides and towards the end it’ll hurt. However, for my 30 min to an hour rides it’s not bad!
I know I want to upgrade my MT03, but I don’t really want to waste the money because I know I can easily get an R7 or ZX6R very soon. Probably going to be done riding in a month or so too since it’s getting quite cold.

That's exactly where I'm at with it. I wasn't really planning on doing anything to it other than the throttle but every month or 2 I come across a good deal and get it haha. I'll be getting a zx6r hopefully as soon as spring breaks.

An interesting and comprehensive review of the MT 03. I agree with everything you say. I think some factors depend a lot on your build as to how the bike fits and feels. I’m only smallish and quite light so I suppose the brakes work a lot better for me. The seat height is perfect and I suppose the acceleration is better too. I’ve never felt the seat to be too hard, maybe my bum is better padded or it’s just the right shape. I’ve considered upgrading but there aren’t many lowish bikes out there that I fancy. I look forward to seeing what replaces the MT. BTW, yours does look a little “well used” in fact it looks like something out of Mad Max ! Just joking, I’m sure someone will buy it. Best regards from England.

I kinda agree with everything you saied, but as my first bike after riding 125 and 150cc bikes and scooters, it's awesome without changing even a screw. It's a very good teacher for you to practice and learn a lot of stuff.
If you plan to sell it after 1 or 2 years don't do much things to it, or even better keep it stock cuz none of us is looking for sh modified bikes. And trust me you will cuz you will get bored of it.
After you gain some experience you can upgrade to a mt-07 or even a Tracer 7. On these bikes you can modify everything you want want cuz you will keep this bike for a long period of time.
Btw sorry for my English, im Greek and Romanian at the same time. :) :)

      @boringkhaos  7 місяців тому +1

That's so awesome! I have met many from Romania and they're all great people. I agree with what you say. However, I personally can not have anything stock. I felt unsafe with the throttle tube I had to replace it as the amount you had to turn the throttle to get the response was way too much. And I like noise. And didn't like the looks of the stock exhaust. Other than those 2 things I could do without the upgrades. Also I was able to let a friend learn with the bike and now I have it back and plan to use it to learn some wheelies and other small stunt things for fun. As I now have a zx6r. I really like the tracer 9 gt I think is what they call it. It looks like a tin of fun and I like the idea of exploring.

bike has become like so flickable, moves fast and agile even better than before.
Anyways I have ordered flash cables from ftecu, and have a plan of smog block plates install and take off canister and o2 sensor. Iam so glad for getting this Mto3❤

This bike is amazing for what you are looking. It if very light and so easy to flip around corners and maneuver. It's tagged as "beginner" so there's very limited controls. It's the very basic. You get abs and lights and that's about it. It's nothing too much. The only downfall Is It's not overly torqued. But it'll do a little over 100. I recommend it to everyone

Bro your crazy on comfortably unless you're seven foot a three fifty four hundred pounds your out of your mind I am 6 foot 5 265 pounds and the bike is completely comfortable for me I me I'm a very big guy though I am more of an athletic type 0erson granted In not in good shape at all I'm also disabled and have a bad back and this bike is comfortable for me I have one complaint on ergonomics and that is the foot peg placement and the way your feet sit on the pegs! But other than that no complaints on sitting posture! It's like riding a dirt bike or cruiser you are completely able to sit up completely comfortable not having to lean forward over the gas tank like a regular sport bike! The seating is absolutely comfortable for me and I'm a big man! Now yes if you're over three hundred three hundred fifty pounds and over six foot at that weight it's to small for you and that's why it's uncomfortable for you! But like I said I'm 6 foot 5 and 265 pounds! And I am completely comfortable on it for a few hours of ride time at least! Due to it being such an upright comfortable seating arrangement! The handlebars are more of a dirt bike style with the. Protaper handle Barr's and very comfortable hand position at that! So I absolutely love the handlebars and seating ergonomics. You gotta let the people know your size so they know when it starts getting uncomfortable.! Imbur with my size I'll tell you you reaching the Max any bigger than six foot five inches tall and 265 and you are at the limit the bike can handle three fifty four hundred pound riders all day granted you gonna be putting some strain on the bike. That being said if you're three hundred pounds and five foot tall you don't want to ride this bike! But if you're three hundred and 6 foot two 6foot 5 your gonna be completely fine on this bike! But that's about the max for this bike. Any more and your gonna want to go up to the Mt 06 and your gonna love it! And if you get the m 09 your gonna be having an absolute blast being 300 plus pounds as long as your a semi athletic person! And can handle the power! Mt does stand for Max torque so the bikes Definitely have some torquy power to them! And you are gonna need some upper body strength to handle the bike! Granted you really need some decent upper body strength to really handle Any motorcycle properly other than a touring cruiser! Style motorcycle! Cause on them style bikes you can be comfortable and cruise at eighty years old! But any sport bike or hybrid like this bike especially once you reach the six hundred seven hundred and eight hundred cc bikes your gonna need a little more upper body strength. I'm not saying you have to be a body builder by any means. But a little extra upper body control is a good thing! If you're not in any kind of shape and can't do a few pull / push UPS you don't need to be on these kind of bikes in the first place! You need a cruiser and or touting bike! Yes you're very accurate. I'm about same weight as you just a couple inches shorter. My biggest complaint in comfort would be how thin the seat is. And I wish I could go back and make a new review video as there are some other things to be said as you have stated. And having a zx6r now I have respect for how comfortable it really is and honestly of they put thicker padding in the seat it would be a chariot. Don't get me wrong I've had many 8+ hrs days riding the mt03 and it is pretty comfortable to ride comparatively just could use more padding in the seat.

@@boringkhaos oh yeah I got you. I could use a little more padding. Imagine if you could find a Harley sportster or goldwing sport bike seat that would fit the Mt03 I have looked but if they do that would definitely make a crazy difference! Them Harley sportsters and goldwings are built for straight comfort! And to have that comfort made seat on a sport bike hybrid with the ergonomics and comfortable posture of the Mt03 being a semi sport cruiser hybrid would make it in comparable in comfort! For sure!

@jesse smith I definitely have looked lol. And I can't remember the name of the company but there is one I found you send your seat in and they add an inch of foam to it. I thought about going that route.

Thanks for the words. I'm working hard but still not achieving. I'm broke asf. Since 2013 I was dreaming to own a bike. I used to ask my father to buy and he used to say he will buy one and I would daydream like I was riding a bike but the sad part is the dream never come true and after 2 years I fed up of asking. It's been five years my father had passed away and I am working hard but couldn't afford it. We have to experience some fun at some age after the age passes we can't enjoy I want to experience at this age. If you are rich and concerned about me help me. Minimum $100-$500 is enough.
