- So what was “Grunge”? At the start, it was a joke. Then it became a simple description of a sound/attitude, as well as a Sub Pop hype promotional term. Ultimately, it became a quasi-genre of music based simply on bands’ Seattle origins. But whatever the meaning is, it’s clear that the term “grunge” has permanently linked those 80s and 90s northwest musicians in music history.

It's really not that crazy to think they hung out at least once. Pac, Snoop, n Nirvana all *DOMINATED* MTV back in the early-mid 90's... Why is it so hard to believe their paths crossed once or twice?

Nirvana spent significant time in LA just before the release of Nevermind. This was just before Snoop became big. They were definitely in the same place at the same time.

NWA/rap groups were some of Kurt’s favourites - he knew all those ppl Dre, 2pac etc. Ppl now forget how much black ppl LOVED Nirvana, and it went both ways in 1989 touring Bleach they would play rap records in the van and Kurt and Krist knew every word. It wasn’t like todays world. Those artists had a lot of underground crossover and love for each other. Especially Nirvana. Later, after Nevermind, Kurt lived in LA for over a year and there would’ve been many occasions they would’ve hung out or crossed paths at parties or via management etc etc. It’s not weird in the slightest for anyone old enough to remember those pre internet times where music wasn’t just about identity and genres.

I don't know why someone would make up a random story like that. At first glance it seems unlikely. But their paths could of easily crossed at some point at an award show something. I dunno. Or maybe at that time snoop might of met somebody else in a band and with the passage of time conflated that with Kurt. But he seems very matter of factual here. Or maybe he's trolling.

There's a photoshopped pic of Snoop with Kurt and Krist confirmed it was fake and the editor came forward, 2pac knew of Kurt but there were no real pics showing they knew each other. That faked one was Pat Smear's face replaced with Pac's.

I believe they could have certainly crossed paths but I don’t think they would have hung out with each other more than a brief meeting. I don’t think he hung out with many famous people except the ones he looked up to or respected.
Kurt didn't really look up that much to people he saw them as artists and peers. He was kind of normal like that, didn't like the 'idolizing' culture that comes with commercial fame. He mentioned being star struck by Iggy Pop the first time he met him though.

Lies. Gin and Juice was released in January of 1994, and Kurt died a few months later. There's no fugging way.
Gin and Juice was out on Doggystyle in November 93 before being released as a single in January 94. Not to mention he was on the Chronic in 1992.
Kurt and Tupac hung out all the time, there are videos of them partying together. Of course Snoop also knew Kurt, the host is just young and dumb but Snoop checked him and kept his cool.
