- 👀The intro to Gojira Flying Whales sets you up for a soul-pounding journey. This Gojira reaction took me through some super trippy and complex sonic dynamics.

Howzit!! 🔥🔥 Here's the ART OF DYING reaction I did a few weeks back - AWWWRIGHT!! ua-cam.com/video/yeS7qCzgAtU/v-deo.html
You shoud do Pray live at red rock its absolutly incredible, love watching your reaction bye the way thnks for all you do
Would love if you give your reaction on an Indian Metal band named DEATHLORE .. Track name FORBIDDEN DEMOCRACY
I’d love to see you do a breakdown of Murmaider III or DEADFACE by Dethklok. Ethereal vibes, along with heavy crushing but melodic riffs. Flying Whales definitely exudes some big Dethklok energy.
“Trancing us out” is a perfect way to describe a lot of Gojira’s intros and outtros. Some people find it repetitive, and boring.. many of us never want it to end.
Love me that born in winter. Had to learn(attempt) it on a couple instrumnts after geebz touched on it. When that drop comes after the trance...yow.
Planned Obsolescence has one of my favorite Gojira outros
Very rhythmically based and definitely on that groove. One of my favorite bands for sure.
There's three kindss of metal heads: those that listen for the groove, those that listen for the harmonies and melodies, and those that loves both but loves one a tad bit more than the other.
man pull a couple bong rips and go on a metal journey with gojira
The Art of Dying needs to be the next Gojira track you do. So much to breakdown. It's an amazing song.
PLEASE GEEBZ!!! THIS IS THE SONG!!^^^
Yes, I loved Gojira thanks to The Art of Dying
This is top priority
The drums in the intro are so damn good, and hook once they get into it is absolutely brutal
Literally one of the greatest metal songs ever.
From Mars to Sirius is pure magic. Gojira caught lightning on that record.
Such a cohesive album, too. So different from their other work.
7:48 all of us when we heard that build up for the first time
I love being able to see someone else react to hearing it for the first time. That's been such an awesome moment for myself and my friends over the years.
That riff hits so. Hard. I love how it hits and then hits HARDER. HELL. YES. GOJIRA BABY!!!!
I said this to myself when he looked up
Still do that everytime
lmao perfect reaction
The Art of Dying has to be next on the list for Gojira reactions!
Joe Duplantier has some of the most tone-rich growls in any metal. First time I heard "World to Come" by them I thought it was a duet because it switches from powerful-yet-soulful growls and beautiful clean singing. Then I watched a live video and was blown away to find out it was all him.
That's the song that got me into them! "IM SITTING BY A LAKE!!!"
And he plays guitar in the same time
Josh middleton of Sylosis is also good at that
@@jestemlegendom I keep meaning to check them out.
@@swingonthespiral ‘born anew’ is a good introduction
If you ever get a chance to see these guys live, don’t pass up the opportunity. I saw them a few years back and it’s hands down the best show I’ve ever been to.
I need to see them and The Ocean live, they've both been my favorites since like...2006. I can't wait to get back to a concert or two!
For sure. I saw them once as a headliner and once as support and no matter where they are on the bill, they blow everyone else out of the water.
I saw them at a small venue in Portland Maine ..they rocked the place and was very appreciative of the crowds energy I saw them with Mastodon and Russian Circles
@@crashingatom6755 The Ocean! Underrated band of the decade right there.
@@Darkstarex2 I agree 1,000%. Robin Staps is a composer, so their music is truly epic compositional pieces, and I love it. Love to find another fan!
This track is so goddamn heavy. It just emphasizes the HEAVY in heavy metal.
Lots of bands are harder, but this has _weight_.
You could say it's The Heaviest Matter in the Universe
Every Gojira song PERFECTLY fits the title, just on an inherent level
THIS SONG IS F***KING AMAZING IT MAKES ME WANNA SCREAM MY LUNGS OUT
WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALES
AYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
@@fletcher_sealander I CAN'T BELIEVE MY EYEEEEEESSSSS
BUT ITS TRRUUUEEEEEEEE
THE WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLELEEESSS, here for you
Art of Dying is a neat track for people like you. Trying to figure out the time sig and letting it all come together is for sure an experience
45/4
@@donkeyhodie8500 Don't give him spoilers! lol
Go Leafs!!!
Esoteric Surgery too, for the same reasons.
@@gst013 esoteric surgery always seems like 4/4 to me, easy to follow imo. however, i could be wrong
A Heavy Metal classic. A reference track. A testament in a career filled with them.
Fantastic way to put It. I agree 100%
"Super trippy and complex sonic dynamics" Geebz you literally just described Gojira's sound, well done my man
I accidently got to see them live, got tickets to a Metallica concert and didnt even look at the lineup. Got a FANTASTIC surprise when Gojira opened for Avenged Sevenfold who then opened for Metallica.
Wow, you got your monies worth. I would have gone home after Avenged happy with my night. 😂
Wow what a line up. Not really a fan of A7X but I'd see em live if they came by my part of the world.
@@danjackson1016 i saw them in 2013 and that was a great show albeit for their (arguably) worst album
@@2510LuL Honestly you get a crowd big enough it doesn't matter who's playing eh?
Was this the Metallica tour in 2009??? I saw Gojira open for Metallica in Nashville back then and had never heard of Gojira.
Best Gojira album right here in my opinion.
I couldn’t pick between any of their albums.
This is just one of those albums that a great listen all the way through. One of my favorites to turn on for a long car ride
Gotta give credit to Terra Incognita tho, Tho this album really brought it home
My favourite too
The Way of All Flesh for me, with From Mars to Sirius and Terra Incognita close behind.
my favorite part of this track is when the intro riff makes a more heavy reprise in the middle of the track.
7:36
That moment when you realize you are about to be hit with a HUGE WALL OF SOUND
I love to introduce people to Gojira with this song because their faces in this particular moment are priceless ahahah
Awwwright!
About the growling, it is a spin off to what is known as belting in opera. So they are actually singing, thats how they manage to avoid damaging their vocal cords. But it requires a lot of control because you can damage your cords if you mess up. The fact these guys can tour for months and play full sets without a damaged voice is testament to their singing ability.
Heaviest matter of the universe, remembrance, global warming, from the sky, where dragons dwell, ouroborous, vacuity, the art of dying, toxic garbage island, I mean they're all damn near classics
Can't forget Ocean Planet. Super underrated.
Everytime I see people listing Gojira songs, I know it's going to end with "basically all of them". haha.
-damn near- classics
Backbone?
@@Quarkbait Thank you!
You need to listen to Death - Flesh and the power it holds
Death is so dope. And it seems criminally underrated these days?
@@Infernio911 Death is not reflected well in youtube reaction content but still one of the most indispensable bands for metal as a whole. Chuck would have wiped the floor with most artists out today in songwriting, guitar tones and vocals
@@bb-sw6ur Yeah but I rarely see them talked about in any music forums/subreddits I follow either. They should be up there imo
I vote Crystal Mountain instead
7:39 That look when he's like 'yo, shits about to git naasty.' :0D so good. so good.
I've never clicked so fast like I've done now
Same
Yes. Oh my god what a track, this is such a good one
Cause you're a Gojira fan or of this fellow?
@@jason_108 Both of them brother
@@am9619 me too!
Joe is such a unique metal vocalist. He has the ability to create legitimately melody, even using guttural vocals. Those Black Metal style screams he does are so damn rich sounding.
Joe has a way of grunting, growling, corpe-crying and Just heavy vocals without missing a sense of emotion, wanting, needing. Just 'feels' nice
This is not black metal screaming... More like death metal
Black metal is the one that sounds like a pig
@@Gabrostil not necessarily. Death metal has a ton of gutteral grunts, and high screeches are super common in BM
@@cosmonaut999 but he was saying about Joe's vocal style
Heaviest Matter in the Universe is another great Gojira track that deserves attention. \m/
YESSSS!!!!! You have to check out The Art of Dying! Much love from Oregon
Yo from the Southern Willamette Valley! :)
The pillow in the background seems aptly appropriate for this video.
Thank you so much for reacting to this track. Gojira are truly inspired and this album is an educational tool for those who wish to learn about the nature of reality. "Awwwrite!!" 🙏💜
Nature of reality.. how so?
Gojira - in the forest. an amazing underrated song of theirs that has so much to offer!
These French boys like to make noise
This is from album number 3, all the way back in 2005. It's actually a concept album, absolutely incredible. Silvera was from their most recent album (Magma, 2016), Born In Winter was from 2012's L'Enfant Sauvage (you really need to do the title track of that one!)
He needs to figure out l'enfant sauvage rudiments :)
the first Gojira song that was recommended to me (about a two years ago) was “Where Dragons Dwell” ...and lemme tell you ... I am ETERNALLY grateful that a coworker told me about Gojira
Geebz, it's so rare to see no down votes. But it happens on your channel often. Much love
Pheeew Geebz, what a reaction. I absolutely loooooove your subtle vibe moments, where you're just feeling the song. Keep rocking out awriiiiight
I'm late to the party, but on that note about washing the guitars out with reverb: Gojira actually used to stack a ridiculous amount of guitar tracks on their records. I remember reading Joe saying that they had like 18 guitars playing the same riff on "Backbone." So that reverb sound you're hearing is just the small human differences in each track creating all of that space!
GOJIRA!!!!!!!!!!
Lets get a SWANS reaction
Impossible to choose one song though
this song is stupid heavy its batshit crazy
So happy to see you get this one under the belt! Hands down, my favorite Gojira track. It has such a massive, heavy sound and a riff that reminds me of a ship getting thrashed around by the waves of a violent thunderstorm. Awesome breakdown from a (de)composer's perspective!
This is a mainstay on my work Playlist.
Aww hell yeah, another one of my fave bands! Everyone is excited for the new album dropping at the end of this month. Amazonia is a new single off of it, and everyone's reactions are getting blocked. My guess is because proceeds from the song go to a thoughtfully-researched charity working to preserve the Amazon forest's nature and indigenous people. So they are trying to funnel all views to their channel for that. Could also be because, as you said, the project hasn't been released yet. There's more info about their charity thing in the official vid as well as a separate vid just about the effort and on their site. Great tune.
If you had fun with this one Gojira has a few slower more melodic songs that are fantastic. I'd recommend Pray, Low Lands, or Born in Winter. Easily in my top 10. Love the breakdowns of my favorite bands!
He's done Born in Winter! Check it out!
world to come live 2010 blow all of these out of the water, it's amazing.
Low Lands would be a great breakdown. It’s a drum and vocal centered track
Omg Low Lands always hits me in the gut.
been waiting for this one
Thank you so much for doing this. I was so waiting for that first drop reaction.
I'm here! Stoked for this reaction!
Love this
Yes!! i have been waiting for this!!!
Been waiting for this one since your first Gojira reaction 👏
Finally!!! Great stuff
I've listened to this song so many times and I still get chills when it starts
Thanks!
YES! YOU DID IT! I was extremely excited for this vid and you've delivered once again.
YES, waited for this for a while, literally screamed in happiness seeing it!) Know that I'll enjoy this video immensely :)
Absolute legend
Always dig your reviews braddah!
geebz! thank you for gojira tonight! be well! \m/
Awesome that you covered this. Thanks, brother. \m/ \m/
Cool vids, Sir, keep it up
Epic! Love this band, can't wait for the album to drop end of this month 🤘
Yoooo he did it!
I just got the notification. Stoked!
I'll be digging into this in a few minutes.
This is one I was waiting for
Absolutely love watching your reactions and listening to your breakdowns on music in general. There's something really gratifying to see you smile or nod at a little change that we the listener have uncovered ourselves through many play throughs. It's kind of a validation that we are understanding the music for the amazing piece of audio art that it is =) Don't stop man and keep rolling !! Thank you !
One of there best! The intro is hypnotic
Oh man, the OG banger.
That “peoples elbow” riff must be one of the coolest riffs ever. If you don’t automatically involuntarily headbang, you have no heart.
Love this song!
The transitions are so well done, and the song is just well done in general, this is one of their best songs, and rightfully so.
Happy to see your channel blowing up!
This track is an absolute monster. Genius in every way. Great to see your reaction!
I actually said "Yeaahhhhh" as soon as I saw the notification. Thank you Geebz Mahalo 🤙
"They're coming to get me"😆
Great video as always, looking forward for more Gojira on your chanel!
This is definitely one of my top Gojira tracks. Big Love!
Woot!!!! Woot!!! I am SO happy you finally did this song!!!! Thank you my favorite composer ♥️♥️♥️
Thank you so much! This channel is just great in so many ways, really makes my day. You Sir, are an inspiration to keep on listening different kind of music. There's always something more to learn and always More cool stuff to hear. Thank you!
Great choice!
Absolutely one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite bands. 🤘
I love the technical engineering insight you have. Don’t hold back!
Fun to see your take on the song that started my journey into Gojiras music, bought this album 2 days after hearing this song for the first time.
Dude I love this mans passion! Thanks for sharing! Cheeeeeeeee!
This tune absolutely crushes! So powerful.
OH YES!!! my absolute Favorite Gojira track, love the reaction and seeing the love for this track! This song absolutely sick with in the car with a insane system in it ;)
you sir, are amazing
So excited to see you do art of dying next 😁
OMG YES!!!!! GEEBZ my man🤙 I absolutely love this song. You just can't go wrong with Gojira. Just AMAZING what they do. Truly special in the world of metal🤘
Your reactions represents us all! When listening to Gojira for the first time.
I really admire this band.
I need to do a deeper dive into this band. Amazing track!
I just want to thank you for being you.
I enjoy your vid alot, keep em comming as long as you enjoy doing it.
First Gojira song I ever heard back in 2010 and it was love at 1st hear. Love the intro to your vids BTW, just makes me smile. Thx for what you do! Al-right!!
I'M SO EXCITED TO WATCH THIS REACTION
I'm glad you dug this one. This is the quintessential Gojira track for me. The groove they have throughout this one is just so funky it's impossible not to bob your head along to. And the beginning is such a great journey into the rest of the mood.
Haven't got to see these guys live yet but my god this song is just so beautiful, absolutely one of my top examples of pure artistic endeavor in metal
I found your channel through Gojira and I'm glad I did because you're great man. Their older and newer stuff is all great. More gojira please. Low lands is one of my favorites.
Sir, I just wanted to say, I love and appreciate your videos!
Ohhhhh my cup of coffee finally paid off! Woooooo! Ty sir!
I live because of Gojira reactions. Now a Geebz Gojira reaction? I'm ascending.
You my friend have found a pathway to many splendors 🤘
When I first heard this song and the entire album, it really changed my view on what makes heavy music great. Gojira always push the boundaries with their music and it pays off for the listener. Especially those listening for the first time. Great video and reaction.
Whoa, my favorite band, playing my favorite song, while I happen to be wearing the t-shirt from the album cover, as I watch my favorite YT reactor. The planets have aligned!
I wish I could give you more than one thumbs up!
I really enjoy the way you analyze music because it's very much the way I do it myself. Great reaction my man.
Im going to see them live this Saturday for the first time and Im so excited!
The energy that comes off this song live could power an entire city. Gojira is great on record, they are unreal live.
