One thing that I love about Gojira is something that I love about Tool, they are not in a hurry.
Yeah same reason I like Meshuggah
They never in a hurrry on albums that’s why they have a slow instrumental in the middle to build to their hard songs
sometimes delayed gratification makes for the best songs
Exactly!!!
Tool needs to release another fucking album already.
Lost In Vegas - breaking stereotypes and promoting unity one video at a time!!

I love lost in Vegas! 😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😘❤️

Art Of Dying by Gojira is one of the best songs I have ever heard, you won't be disappointed
Thanos Sakogiannis Yesss thank you!!!!
yes its my fav song, but mars to sirius is the best album
Agree 100%
Thanos Sakogiannis ναι γαμώ την τρέλα μου
As a African American male I grew up surrounded by hip/hop and R&B culture. I branched out musically thanks to bands like Pantera/Metallica/Fear Factory. I grew to enjoy different genres of Metal but honestly my interest and love for it grew stangnent for an extended period of time. Gojira has brought the love back, so much fire and depth to thier music. It's great to see others hear them for the first time and grow to love and appreciate the greatness of this band.
Nice glad to hear a black person who doesnt listen to lil pump sixnine xxxtenticion ect
As an African American....
Brandon McCaskill same
Hosein what did you want him to say kid
Same here...🤟🤟🎸🎸
The way I like to describe gojira is they peel your face off for two minutes and then very politely apologize and set about putting it back on and giving you a lollipop for your trouble... and then they peel it off again....
Lol remembrance in a nutshell
That's... An analogy.
Yeah like a bad boy
Repeat cycle
that is their class french upbringing and education.. Notice none of them have tats or piercings.. Their mother was an American.. Though they were raised in france.... They are amazing people !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love that you guys are digging Gojira so much. They're so refreshing. A distinct lack of traditional guitar soloing and an obsessive dedication to the groove, bludgeoning heaviness, and melody is such a winning formula that they pull off like almost no one else.
Holy shit, I dare someone to give a better description of this band. RIGHT ON.
Here here! Well expressed.
To understand the Song you need to listen to the whole Album, as it is its own Story. In the Story Humans come from a different Planet, Sirius, and were sent here by entities from Sirius.
Unfortunately humans ruin the Earth and need to find a way to save it. So they ask the Flying Whales for help. The flying whales teach humans how to fly and the humans fly off to Sirius to ask the entities for help with saving the earth. The last song on the Albumthen basically isa warning to not let it get as far with the real earth.
very true. gojira is a very thematic band and all their albums are meant to be experienced in full as an entire organism.
George: I hope the whole song isn’t like this tho...
Me: 😏
You know it's Gojira when George gets the ole stankface.
FYI, Gojira is an extremely environmentally-minded group of guys. Really care about the planet, nature, the earth, etc. So read into all of their lyrics with this in mind.
Metal Hippies!!! 🤘✌️
yeah metal hippies. great guys though lol
I just read that Gojira (official account) said they would give these guys backstage passes
Damjan P On Twitter or Facebook?
Serious? Well deserved! Would love to see some of that video.
On facebook
Jeff Torres It was on Facebook. Gojira's official account shared this video, and the top comment below that post was a guy saying they should give these guys backstage passes, and Gojira responded to that by just saying: "Yes!".
Edit: Not sure if it's really gonna happen, but it's safe to say that guys in Gojira like the idea
Sweet....we need these cats to do an interview with them 🤘
WHAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSS
This
I CANT BELIEVE MY EYES
BUT IT'S TRUUUUE
You missed about 20 A's there man :)
You guys missed the FB shout out from Gojira regarding this video, with a prospect of backstage passes.
Oh, that is a great offer of them! Hope they will act on that prospect
Anyone have a link to it?
how did no one tell them if that actually happen
Here is the link to Gojira's post (actually the embed link) about this review:
Did they pick up on this yet?
Guys! A little bit of the story behind the album. _From Mars to Sirius_ is a concept album that relates the resurrection of a dead planet through an interplanetary quest, tackling environmental issues as well as broader themes of life, death, and rebirth. Explaining the meaning behind the album title, Joe Duplantier (vocals and guitars) said that "In some cultures, Mars symbolizes war and Sirius peace. I'm simplifying! It is a journey of a state of war, even if in France we are preserved, but it can be a war within us, in our flesh, in our mind, a war with ourselves". (From the Wikipedia page of the album)
I fucking love this channel.

7:13 "Gojira is the truth." CORRECT
I want t-shirt that says that.
I came to the comments hoping someone else mentioned this hahaha
As a French 40 year old guy, I revere Gojira. Think that's the best french metal band ever. Technical and creative music, deep lyrics and really cool guys.
I really enjoy seeing you reacting to metal tracks.
A lot of respect to both of you for being so open-minded and just loving music of any kind.
I wish there were more people with your mentality.
You gained a new subscriber!
Two of my most favorite bands are French. Alcest and Gojira! Both of them being spectacular bands. You guys in France should be proud.
They put France on the map for Metal, very good band you guys should be proud.
Best metal band ever*
Emil Johansson opeth
Gorod are another excellent French band
Ryan's comment on Gojira "putting it all together" is such a great point. To transcend musical genres and make great art, it's all about the end result of the music and not just about how awesome the musicianship of the individual tracks are.
It's all the result of the Duplantier brother's upbringing. Read about it and you'll understand why. : )
Ryan and George love Gojira. Mission complete
The bass line in this track is probably my favorite part.
yesss, so creative. During the intro the bass stands out to much.
The bassist is dope af! Born in winter has some sick bass lines
I never got into the growling side of metal but this song is just something so different to me that made me absolutely love it.
Gojira is great another great grow Uli gesagt band with appeal for everyone is Jinjer
Someone with the Gojira connect get these guys VIP tix to their first show! Hook them up! New fan of Gojira
FUN RAD
I second this!
Gojira - The Art of Dying!
Incredible drums and song you guys won't be disappointed!
I have never heard of Gojira, but wow, thanks for doing your reaction to this, it opened my eyes to a new awesome band.
Tracy Allen mars to Sirius is one of the best albums to listen to on your headphones ever
I really suggest all of them. My favorite album personally is The Way of All Flesh. Check out their lyrics too they are absolutely amazing too with all the sick riffs killer bass and unbelievable drumming.
Me either. And I have to admit, what a found! Amazing band!
Revisiting this video.... 7:12 I need a t-shirt that reads "Wooooooo! Gojira is the truth, man"
Pantera - Domination live in Moscow
YES YES THIS
Mother of god yeaaa
Man I've seen so many bands live, but almost none of them compare to how amazing Gojira is live. They have such a great stage presence and the sound of their instruments are just overwhelmingly heavy. And not only is the band fun to watch, every Gojira show I've been to had a great crowd as well. Definitely the band to see for your first metal show.
ProgPro96 true, I saw at Monster Aftershock last year (2017) fucking amazing live
ProgPro96 and the strobe lights behind them that go in tune with the base. They are phenomenal live. They headlined the smallest stage at carolina rebellion last year and they ended up being the best band at the 3 day festival! Was lucky enough to meet them as well
Best concert I've been to as well! I'm a 5"2 female and the moshpit was so much fun, intense yet before anyone actually hit the floor it's like four people were already picking them up. I crowd surfed during The Gift Of Guilt out then brought more beer and came back in the mosh pit in a matter of 15 minutes lol, does it get any better?
I'm black. Gojira has been my fo to metal band for over 10 years now. Been to 2 of their shows and trust me, that is where the fire is. This is one of their best albums.
I love that you guys are digging Gojira. They are a hella underrated band outside of their fan base
You guys are being shared on Gojiras page on fb!!!!
ART OF DYING BY GOJIRA!!!!
Devon Walenga first song I ever heard by them!
YES PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Yes.... Just yess
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES PLEEEEEEEEEEEEASE
Why does no one mention low lands? It's such a good song
BigBen270 true :(( I love that song but I guess it's because it's from Magma and not everyone is fond of it
Ethan Byrne It took me a while to get into Magma, but there are some absolute killer songs on that album. Silvera, Stranded, The Cell, Pray (holy hell that breakdown is heavy). It’s different from their previous 3 albums, but it’s still Gojira.
I just discovered that song and the video. It's great!
It was my most listened to song in 2019 on Spotify. I love the way it builds up and explodes at the end
So 👏 good 👏
I remember when I first heard Gojira and it was Flying Whales. were three phases:
1 - I fell in love for the beginning and the whole part of the whales singing.
2 - I started liking the guitar riff at the beginning and I hated the vocals.
3 - I started to love the whole song.
After all this, I became a Gojira fan. Obviously, i went through other songs like Oroborus and became hypnotized by the Mario's drums
exactly omg i used to hate the vocals at the begining too
For me vocals were great from the beginning. Being used to growls from before it sounded amazing
Tool - Lateralus
The Art of Dying is probably the most epic song in their library
Justin Kropff for me it's Death of me and Wolf down the Earth
Andrés Iraci Death of me is so damn groovy
Completely agree. I'd love to see that one reviewed.
Justin Kropff yes yes yes
Andrés Iraci Where dragons dwell for me
Gojira is coming to Las Vegas on August 2nd
I hope they see this comment.
I hope so
If we keep liking this comment they will see 💚
I hope they don't get LOST IN VEGAS
they're touring with the deftones, so it should be an epic concert.
Gojira did a collaboration with Devin Townsend and Fredrick Thordendal (Meshuggah's lead guitarist).
It's called "Of Blood and Salt"
Y'all should check it out, mixes all 3 of their flavors very well
Kenneth Townshend fuck off!!! Damn im a gettin on that shit. Thanks for the hesds up
@Lamont the song came out years ago and I'm shocked that I've only recently heard it. Its supposedly from an rumored album they've been working on for years and years to benefit the Sea Shephard Conservation Society which is an organization that helps to preserve Marine wildlife. We know they've done some work on it, as evidenced by this song, but who knows if the album is ever actually going to get released. It's been pretty hush hush but if it ever gets released I'm sure it's gonna be phenomenal
@@m00n_g0d im late but they actually recorded the whole thing but they somehow lost the hard drives and didn't have the time or funds to re-record it. The only reason we have Of Blood and Salt is that it was released before the rest of the album was deleted as a single.
@@thomaskovacs986 I've since found that out lol I thought I saw somewhere Joe said in an interview that they were still working on getting the album put back together.
Whaaaaaat how did I knot know of this I love.gojira and Devin Townsend project
Tool - Lateralus! You guys will LOVE IT !!
they are going to hate the long middle section
Not a chance! ;)
YESS!!!
Hands down, the best channel on UA-cam. It's so refreshing to see some positivity in this world today. Makes me feel like a kid again
Can I be honest? I've listened to metal since I was a little tike and now you've turned me onto a new band through your reaction vids! They are incredible! I've heard of them before but never tried them out. Fly!
Blackgold1155 no, you can’t be honest.
Guys thank you very much. I discovered this band thanks to you. I listenet to the art of dying, then 5 minutes later i decided to listen whole album. I listened to "From Mars to Sirius" and that opening track. Oh my god, that blew me away, i was alone in my room but i had to smile loudly, this is so powerful music that i dont think im gonna listen to anything else next few months :D
Ocean Planet does not get nearly the love it deserves. Straight up
#lostinvegas83 I will personally set up a gofundme for y'all to see Gojira live!!!! When they post a summer tour schedule, lets do this! I'm sure all the #freethinkers will help!!!
They do have a few dates for spring and summer, including Mexico! MAY
05
HELL AND HEAVEN FESTIVAL
MEXICO, MEXICO

To piggy back on this, Gojira Live is essential! They bring the energy and it is infectious as hell. I never miss them when they come by. Let’s do this!
I almost cried the first time I saw Gojira live. So intense, so beautiful, so tight.
I saw no one suggesting The Art Of Dying here in the comments, which bums me out a little to be honest. Such a mighty song, the groove and the rythym plus the lyrics ... I'm sure the boys would enjoy it the most of the songs they listened up to this point
Significant Otter The Art of Dying has one of the most intense lulls and builds of any song I have ever heard. The climax to that song is absolute perfection. I’m glad to see someone finally suggesting this song!
indeed man the best gojira song.
I've seen a couple people suggesting it. That beginning rhythm paired with the throat singing would blow their minds lol, and that snare Jesus it's technical
Art of Dying is awesome. I'd like to hear The Way Of All Flesh as well!
I've seen it requested on their vids a lot lol have you been looking? But yeah I agree it absolutely must be done
Me, my brother, his wife and possibly my son are going next month August 18 to knotfest to see them. Slipknot and gojira are headlining in Missouri.
I always find myself coming back to this reaction. This is hands down one of their best songs and one of my personal favourites but to listen to you two break it down and get excited over it just adds a whole new layer to the experience. Keep up the amazing job!
Gojira-The Art Of Dying
Determinism of Morality right!!
I think they are ready. :)
yesssssssssss
This is the masterpiece of Gojira
First Gojira song I heard
You guys are becoming a drop everything and watch channel
Gojira Needs to react to this!!
You guys are absolutely genuine. Love this channel, love your honesty. Keep it up. And The Art of Dying. Need that reaction.
The bored ass looks on your faces in the thumbnail had me scared you weren't going to like it.
I thought that too xD
Please do some video reaction of Howling in the Fog (Underground one man band project from Italy)
Check their reaction to The Heaviest Matter Of The Universe. That one is great. . They truly are fans of Gojira from the looks of it
Yeah I saw that one. I decided to show one of their more atmospheric songs to my drummer and he hated it and it turned him off to them. So I was worried that was going to happen here.
Not Important Yeah it's weird, I find that most of the time they'll be honest and say they straight up didn't like the song, though they always try to find something positive to say either way. But other times it's so clear that they're just pretending to enjoy it so as to not offend the band/the fanbase. I get it though, it's probably a lot of pressure knowing your videos are going to be seen by tens of thousands.
I appreciate that they have a different perspective than I do on a lot of songs I'm very familiar with, particularly lyrically. And they they know what they're talking about a lot of the time, they're good listeners. They usually pick out what is unique about a particular artist which, if you've ever tried to play a metal or prog song to someone who doesn't listen to that kind of music, you'll know is not a common feat.
It's definitely atmospheric. This is why Gorjira and Devin Townsend are all that and a bag of weed. This is another amazing song. Just love your excitement guys, great job guys as always 🤘❤️
5:43 George's face is just perfect. It has that child smile when he discovers his new favorite toy and I can't stop rewatching it
Your channel brings me so much joy. Gojira is one of my favorites! Thanks for leading by example and keeping an open mind! I always say that I believe you can tell everything you need to know about a person by seeing what their musical tastes are and how open they are to trying new things. Thank you!
Gojira is one of the best bands doin it right now and it is amazing that you guys see what so many of us other fans see and hear with Gojira. The drums, the bass lines, the riffs, the lyrics, the vocals, everything about them exudes modern metal.
I really have to say thank you to you guys, big time. The last 6 weeks have been the darkest I've ever experienced, with things having progressively become more devastating without letting up, but for the 15 or 20 minutes that I get to watch your videos, especially reactions to one of my top 3 favorite bands (Gojira), has been one of the very few things able to break through, silencing the grinding for a moment.
Thank you for doing what you've been doing.
IAm TheBlurr you will get through this! the river ebbs and flows :)
Keep your head up bruh. If you look around, believe it or not, someone has it worse
How are things now buddy ?
Great choice with wanting to see Gojira! I love the idea of you two filming your adventures at a metal concert. Gojira is a perfect first band!!!
That excitement and atmosphere you're talking about in the beginning of the song is even more palpable at a live show. I saw them a couple weeks ago here in Vegas, in a small venue; House of Blues. But the energy was insane, we were ALL feeling that music. Most amazing crowd to, Gojira fans are some pretty badass people. \m/ I'm a new fan, but a fan for life now. Loving your channel, new here to, rock on!!
Definitely go see Gojira live!! They are amazing.
Best band I've ever seen live, without a doubt!
Gojira
Watching your guys' videos on reacting to the songs I grew up with is like reliving the moments I first listened to these. Keep the videos going and keep exploring all kinds of genres, love that you're willing to check out any music no matter what style it is
I'm french following them since their first album, I'm so happy you guys love them. By listening album after album you can even see the evolution of their own music. They are incredible and their concerts are amazing!!! Hope you'll see them soon!
Your explanation around 9:35 was awesome, actually made some sense
You guys actually turned me onto Gojira with your video on The heaviest matter in the universe. After seeing that video, I looked into them a bit more and found this song as well, and it has become one of my favorite metal songs. I'm glad you guys finally circled back around to this song, because it's definitely one of the best. If you can, check out Dream Theater - Panic Attack. it's definitely more on the metal side of their catalog and in my opinion, would be a better introduction to the band.
I was the exact same way!! The same day I saw that video I listened to the entire From Mars To Sirius record and was completely blown away. Since then I’ve listened to all their albums and am so glad these guys found Gojira cause if they hadn’t, I wouldn’t have either
Exactly!! Panic Attack was the first song I heard by Dream Theater! They should definitely check it out. I think they’ll enjoy.
lqid10t panic attack lit asf
Also it’s funny that you have 3 replies...all from Deadpool avatars 😂
Panic Attack is a great song, to help turn 'em around on that initial reaction. Octavarium was an incredible album!
BORN IN WINTER - GOJIRA next up guys
Nice avatar
George just reminds me of myself when I first discovered gojira
Man this channel is so addictive lol. Love it.
Sepultura - Dead Embryonic Cells. Hands and knees, i beg you guys to check that one out. it goes hard, groovy, and has one of the best breakdowns.
B.C. Gaming That breakdown is head banging epicness
I’ve watched this so many times. I already loved Gojira but your enjoyment of this song is so infectious. Huge respect for how you can go into each song open minded.
As a metal head, this channel has got me listening to hip hop and other kinds of music.
This channel is damn amazing! These guys are truly unbiased and I can't stop watching! Their breakdown of metal is sincere...props to these dudes! More Tool...Pantera...Chevelle...NIN...A Perfect Circle...System of a Down...Disturbed...so much more to metal. Love y'all guys....keep it up!!
From Mars to Sirius is a concept album that relates the resurrection of a dead planet through an interplanetary quest, tackling environmental issues as well as broader themes of life, death, and rebirth.[2] Explaining the meaning behind the album title, Joe Duplantier said in an interview that "In some cultures, Mars symbolizes war and Sirius peace. I'm simplifying! It is a journey of a state of war, even if in France we are preserved, but it can be a war within us, in our flesh, in our mind, a war with ourselves".
-From the Wikipedia page of the album with both 'Heaviest Matter' and 'Flying Whales' on it.
No idea when Gojira is touring near you again since they were in vegas in august last year: www.setlist.fm/setlist/gojira/2017/the-joint-at-hard-rock-hotel-las-vegas-nv-3e55533.html
Tool - "The Pot" is awesome.
They'd love The Pot. Its only a matter of time! But I really want them to do a lot of Tool... Schism, H., Eulogy, Third Eye, Lateralus, Parabola, Rosetta Stoned, Right In Two, Swamp Song, Sober, Ticks and Leeches .... yeah
cragnog all good suggestions!
I think ticks and leeches would be a wrap...pushit, eulogy, triad - let it rip gents!
That’s how you become a metal head!
Super awesome that Gojira posts your videos on their facebook page. That's how it should be, you guys are promoting them and their music.
They're touring Australia and Europe this year, so you guys will have to wait at least until fall for them to come around the States again. But I agree, you guys should definitely go see a metal show, get the feel for the atmosphere, it changes when you're there, soaking in the energy.
You guys are bona fide metalheads now, it's been fun to watch you become fans. What you're seeing and hearing and liking in Gojira, that's how it starts. You start knowing what to look for, what you do and don't like, you notice nuance that just got lost in the noise before, and you start to like it. Shop around, find it elsewhere, and welcome to the club!
diogenesclay, I agree 100%! I thought I enjoyed myself at Gojira's 2006, 2009 and 2016 Tuska Open Air (here in Finland) shows, but I'd *pay* to see George at a Gojira show! And yes, the guys are trve metalheads now :)
Guys, your appreciation for music is really inspiring. I've been into metal since i was a kid but watching your videos feels like i'm discovering it once again on another level, being a grown up . That's simply priceless. THANK YOU.
Евгений Дыбчинский
Same exact feeling!
I find myself noticing thing I never noted before on songs I've loved since I was a teen. It's refreshing, delightful and I'm having a fucking ball. Thank you!
I never really thought about why I liked this channel so much but you put it perfectly. I've been listening to metal for so long that seeing these guys dissect it in a fresh new listener way makes me see it in that perspective again. Nostalgic but from a new outlook as well.
I keep coming back to y'alls reaction cause still amazes me people not being metal heads like myself thanks for the entertainment gentlemen from Texas with love keep grooving along. Pantera hollow if y'all can
I'm binge watching all of your videos now. It's really cool to watch your tastes evolve as you guys get into heavier music.
Domination by Pantera live in Moscow
Pantera. "Use My Third Arm".
These guys are gonna become metalheads before this year ends
Keep poisoning 'em guys.. ;)
A new subscriber here. I’ve only watched several videos but I can really appreciate your guys’ perspective into metal. Listening to metal for years, it always helps to get that fresh view and personality about older music. The way you break down the songs and voice your opinions is amazing. I’ve always loved being able to get an “oustider’s”(for lack of a better term) personality and view into metal music that they’re into. Keep up the great work guys
I love Joe’s unique vocal style blending growling with a forceful and distinctive tonality that he projects!
Pantera Domination live in moscow
William I've been watching that video alot lately
Pantera's "Use My Third Arm" Great groove, great drums, great Phil
agreed!
They must react to that, not the studio version, the live moscow one xD
yeah!!!!
I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS FOR SO LONG!!!!
This's a band I already love, and ya'all are helping to a new level of appreciation. MUCH love to this channel...
You guys are great! Gojira is one of my favorite bands and they are completely amazing live and I hope you guys get to see them. You will be blown away. The bass player is the goddamn energizer bunny on stage.
Faith No More - Epic
G L was going to suggest this
Pantera - Domination and Cowboys from Hell !
I still watch this reaction video after these years - it's such an honest reaction and you guys really fuckin get it. If someone told me that this was one of the best songs ever created, I'd be like "ya".
One reason for me to come here:
To relieve the sensation when i first heard this song 🔥
Waiting for a new Gojira reaction !!! Amazing guys !!! Gojira will be in USA 2018 heading a metal festival cant remember the name ... I really recommend you guys to watch live performances they are just unbelievable! ! The art of dying is one please !!!
Linda Mares Somebody needs to hook the guys up with backstage passes given how much love they've been dishing out.
Adam Brickley totally agree !! I would like to get one too .. 😍 love Gojira
this is by far your best video. Your reactions are amazing.
Ok so I’ve just started watching reaction blogs. You guys are my favorite. 🎉🎉🎉
Since I've been watching your Gojira reactions UA-cam keeps suggesting them to me. I love 'em now!
Cemetery gates by pantera
"Use My Third Arm" by Pantera. Incredible drumming
Jesus Christ stop recommending this song it's too boring for a reaction.
Yesss
Lil Greg My opinion is that your opinion doesn't matter and that you're an internet tough guy.
Lil Greg My opinion was relevant to this channel and comment section, yours was a personal attack. But it's your right to be a tough guy on the internet, nobody can stop you so have at it.
This channel made me a Gojira fan. Never heard of them before watching this channel. Going on eBay to buy their cds.
Same for me, went right on Amazon and got 3 GOJIRA cd's
Me too!
Me too! Too much old school for me, new bands can actually be really good! French people in general have a lot of great music, Supreme NTM, Noir Desir, Edith Piaf..
Make sure you get ‘Terra incognita’. That’s probably my favourite🤙🏻
They have no bad albums
Ah lads, this was awesome. Have been listening to this song for years but a few of the things you said in your commentary shed completely new light on certain parts of the song for me and I feel borderline enlightened. Thanks both, you absolute legends.
You guys introduced me to Gojira, and I liked it so much, that this song was my most listened song of 2019 in Deezer. Thank you so much for showing me this awesome band!
