Of all the sneakers you reviewed, what sneaker is the most advanced in terms of technology that actually works better than any other sneaker? The other part of the question is, does "technology" even matter in sneaker design or is it all a gimmick?
Weston gotta go in for a quick sniff of the air from the air unit. Ps: you might wanna consider cutting open famous fashion boots (Margiela Tabis, SLP Wyatts) to see how they’re made. It would be a nice fresh (and expensive) wave of content from the channel, and the Dior AW07 “navigate” combat boots might be a decent start; they’re clearly fashion boots and advertised as fashion boots, but they’re still a pair of “combat” boots. Therefore, seeing how they were made and whether they met the standard of a pair of standard combat boots would be nice. Plus, there aren’t much content made about these boots, so your video (if it happens) would attract attention pretty well, imo.
second that. high end fashion brands defintely use high quality leather, but while they're tempting, can't resist the idea of cutting them in half...Weston rules
This was so cool to see, the big bubble really has a much bigger bubble, I really hope you go through the Air Maxes over the years, I kinda grew up with them and it’d be awesome to see how they changed over the years!
I pretty much only wear air max 1s or 90s. You've always been able to get them in various colourways, and even design your own colourway. I have some air max 1s in colours that I chose, right down to the inside colour of the bubble. I just like the shape of them. The last few years it's been getting harder to find them though, and they've been getting more expensive. Nike uk seems to love selling them to golfers now. They're a great sneaker for £70, but nobody needs to be paying 150 for them, and they don't need a re-release when they've always been available.
I'd love to see some skate shoes cut apart. I have the lizzie vans and thanks to your channel I'm so curious to see what's inside. I'm already looking forward to my next pair but I have no idea which brand to get!
Nike was not the first one to have an air cushioned sole in a running shoe. Finnish brand Karhu - yes, the same company that sold then-small Adidas it's three stripes - did the first running shoes with air cushioned heels. They also made air cushioned basketball shoes later. Karhu's air sole running shoe predates Nike by at least one year - Karhu released it's shoes in 1976 while Nike released their first shoe (as a limited release for Honolulu marathon) in 1978, having started to research the technology in 1977. Karhu was also the first company to use Nylon as a running shoe material. Nowadays Karhu is more of a fashionable, hipster directed brand, but it was for a considerable time on the cutting edge of sports shoe technology. You might want to look into that.
@@tyarnold4088 Oh, I do too, I did not post that to discredit Nike in any way. I am quite fond of Nike's shoes and wear them daily in my sports hobbies (outside that it's dress shoes, due to being involved with fashion & bespoke industry as a tailor and a designer). I just think that the Karhu story - with its undeniable firsts - is also something that is often not heard. I played basketball back in the 80's wearing Karhu Harlems (and Air Jordans), partied wearing Adidas and have run & skated through more Nikes than I care to remember. I just think that, as Rose Anvil is doing excellent job sharing sneaker history, he could check into that. After all, Beastie Boys wore them in one point and the brand has had quite an effect.
Finally the air max! In the Netherlands (and i think in most European countries) these shoes are extremely populair and have been for decades. I hope you will continue, i think the airmax 90 are the most populair.
Bought a pair of these (big window-1987) as my “jogging only” shoes and wasted my money. I was running a minimum of 30 minutes/day and when I was cooling down (walking) after my first run w/them, was the first time my knees began to hurt. Bought a pair of Reebok cross-trainers and I wish I had bought 10 pair of Reebok’s. The most comfortable tennis shoe/sneaker I have ever worn, to this day.
I am so so so glad I found your channel! It is so unique, very informative, but you cover so many brands and materials that I could transfer over to my hobby! Thank you!
Just wanted to say thank you. A couple of years ago I picked up some Redback UBOK boots based on your video reveiw. They cost A$115.90 / ~US$78 delivered inc tax. Best shoes I've every bought - wear them pretty much everyday, they hardly wear and are super comfortable and IMO look good with jeans.
I've been wearing Air Max since I was a kid (mid 90's). IMO there is no shoe that feels better in the heel area. Just pure comfort and style and I love em. I got 12 pairs now my favorites being my Air Max 90 Infrareds.
Would be really happy if you're going to do the air max series! Watching your vids for a couple of years and I'm curious what's inside the maxes fr and how good of quality they are. Normal max 1's and 90's my favorites, wanna see that and the 95/97's for sure!
Love Air Max 1's. They are still my goto sneaker. I was 13 when the Nike Air Max 90's dropped in 1990 and i wanted some so bad. Begged and saved and got 'em. Then a year later in 91 Nike dropped the Nike AIr Max 180 and my mind was blown!!! I though Air Max 180's were the coolest thing EVER. The few (rich) kids in school that had 180's would put them on in the playground at recess and it would gather a crowd. 180's were like spaceships. It would of got less attention if you turned up to school in a Lamborghini with a supermodel.
I’d recommend a video on the Air Pegasus 83. It’s a remake of the first Pegasus shoe from 1982/1983, which is a line that is still going (they’re on 40 now). I’m curious if the Pegasus 83 actually has the heel air unit.
for a future air max line video, perhaps compare the Air max 90 recraft with the regular non recraft version. I have both and they feel quite different on feet......
The Air Units are made in a St.Louis Mo. Suburb and sent to Oregon and filled with a special gas not just air. Running shoes aren’t typically made of leather because runners run in the rain and wet leather becomes too heavy
I'm very glad that you're trying to do an Air Max Series!!! I'm already well versed in the History of Air, but I'm stoked that you guys are trying to educate others and cutting them in half to dispell some myths!!
The original Air Max BW had a hidden forefoot air unit too .... they later got rid of it, I'd be really interested to know if the more recent iterations of the BW have also gone back to their roots and have the front unit.

@@appelscha23 I've got 3 pairs of them. I'd say they lift about 1.5". I'm really curious about the quality of the SC vs the Max 1. I do think the Max 1 looks better, but the SC is by far the most comfortable shoe I've ever owned. I think people have hyped the original for so long that they've created this myth that. the original is better than it really is.
Amazing video definitely the best air max 1 video I’ve seen by far I love how you test all the components and totally dismantle the shoe to actually see how well it’s made I would love to see more content like this

the big bibble which you have was actually 1986, and they released only something like 40,000 units and only about 25k were sold i believe the one we know today with the smaller unit was the 1897 pairs
@RoseAnvil. I can confirm that the bubble does crack in the cold. Your freezer is nowhere near cold enough, it's maybe -3 -4 F. I wore mine in -37c here in Winnipeg, Manitoba and they shattered.
It would be interesting to see the nike tailwind 79 cut in half (since that was the first nike air shoe ever). Also something like the onitsuka tiger mexico '66, since it was a big running shoe in its day, and Blue Ribbon Sports (later nike) started by selling those then-cheap japanese shoes in america. But that's a very simple shoe like the Nike Cortez.
Nice video as always, I will personally like to see the vapormax from 2017 as they had basically the complete sole made with bubbles and some of them are completely independent
Hey Rose Anvil! I hope you see this recommendation! I would love to see you cut an ISPA MindBody in half to see what it’s all about. They’re fairly cheap and supposed to mimic nature. I’ve heard someone say it feels like walking on grass so it could be interesting to see what’s inside.
i would love to see a video on a newer "premium" release. The Brown Curry retro seems to have a nubuck upper, and they are "premium". Also another great pair to check would be the Pendleton Collaboration. Or, the newer Patta release. Either way loved watching it. Cannot wait to see the other air max videos.
I have stopped buying n wearing sneakers. But it is really cool to see them cut in half. I would love to see you cut apart top of the line running shoes/sneakers.
Keep up the series! I recently picked up my first two pairs of the Air Max 1. They’re both “premium” editions with actual suede and nubuck. I’m pretty sure the leather is synthetic, but it’s at least plastic coated. $180 retail for the premium versions is STEEP. There are sales and buying them lightly used will knock off $30-$50+. The arch support was a happy surprise.
I've been in love with this exact shoe since i had them in middle school. They were retrod and on sale in Eastbay bc no one wanted them in that era. I want this big bubble version just for the style
Air Max Evolution Series would be awesome! And i would also like see the Nike presto cut in half to actually know what a crash pad is or does and why its sooo comfy

Yeah man, I'd love to see a whole series, and ... yeah I got a pair for exactly those reasons. I wear mine and enjoy them. They are pretty nice to walk around in sometimes.
Never owned the originals. I recently got the OG big bubble. I love the shoe. My first AM1 and second ever AM shoe It’s so comfortable, looks good, and it’s hard to get it dirty. Only complaint is that it’s hard to find a matching outfit/look that goes with the shoe. I use the shoe for trail walking and it has yet to get scuffed, despite the terrain being composed of small pebbles, dirt, mud, etc.
Nice video as always! Please make a video about asics and onitsuka tiger as well please. I really love to watch these shoes get reviewed from the inside.
Unless it's winter, I wear Air Max 1's every single day. I have multiple LE's with premium leather uppers that are more than a decade old. These OG's I have too but the quality is indeed severely lower, yet the comfiness is still A++
Super interested in the air max history. My sister used to love them and i remember always going through the eastbay magazines and looking at shoes. She just passed and im really thinking about getting a pair shed be proud of lol
Nike does do Air Max 1's with real leather, nubuck, and suede. I'm guessing at least half of them use at least some panels with them. Some are even full leather. The retail price is usually a bit more but you can always get them on sale for ridiculously cheap.
I never knew these had a forefoot Air unit! Thanks for doing this and please keep this series going! When you do the Air Max 90, please do the "Air Max III" editions that released in late 2020! It's different than the normal Air Max 90s currently available, because that one is more true to the original AND it also has a forefoot Air unit. The ones currently available do not.
would be interesting if you guys make a video about: Good quality sneakers which natural oils to use for leather: Some people claim "you should never use x oil because it will destroy leather" while some people claim the contrary without any fricking evidence
I’d like an Air Max 90 review. My pair are my beater shoes for yard work and they have survived something like fifteen years of use and being stored outside in my garage.
I don’t wear sneakers, mostly boots, I have a pair of old Nocanas that are my dress boots plus a pair of Justin work boots for everyday wear Thank you for the video. Thank you Sir
subscribed as i want to see the air max series. I'd like to see the 90's cut in half and compared with other sneakers. I find they have a more angled profile than the competition and would like to see the air cushioned equivalents from any boutique houses.
I weigh 100kgs and these are one of the most comfortable all day shoes for me. Boost and zoom are too soft/unstable for me causing foot fatigue after several hours of wear plus they bottom out really quick. These big bubbles are they way if you are looking for more stable feel with some cushioning
Your videos are really great! Please keep the series going. My favorite is the Air Max 90, I'd love to see if the money for that (very affordable) shoe is worth it. Thanks!
omg yes! havent watched full vid yet (commenting with 1 minute of release) i collect these. I love them. So happy to see this video. Edit, watched the video incase anyone wondering
@@stauker.1960 yep. I think they’re super comfy. Shoes that are comfier exist, but I’d say compared to Air Force 1, Jordan1, or any other Nike air tech I think the air max 1 and air max 90 take the cake for being the most comfortable.
Thank you for making this type of videos. And yes. Please. I’m interesting in the Air Max 180. Love that shoe but I had either a defected one or not but the air leaks so bad that makes this a annoying sound but I love the shoe so much i don’t care anymore. Tnx again man.

Please keep the Air Max series going! Love the insight!
I’ve been waiting to see more Air Max since the AM97 video. I’d love to see more!
would be interesting if you guys make a video about:
Good quality sneakers
which natural oils to use for leather: Some people claim "you should never use x oil because it will destroy leather" while some people claim the contrary without any fricking evidence
An Air Max series would be awesome!
I’d like an Air Max 90 review. My pair are my beater shoes for yard work and they have survived something like fifteen years of use and being stored outside in my garage.
I don’t wear sneakers, mostly boots, I have a pair of old Nocanas that are my dress boots plus a pair of Justin work boots for everyday wear
Thank you for the video. Thank you Sir
subscribed as i want to see the air max series. I'd like to see the 90's cut in half and compared with other sneakers. I find they have a more angled profile than the competition and would like to see the air cushioned equivalents from any boutique houses.
It's just straight felt, not "fake leather"? Love this series! More please
I had an off-brand version of these, from ShopKo, in the 90's. I was curious what was inside. They deflated after about 2 years of regular wear.
These actually a legit shoe. Id run a marathon in them.
Always wanted to do that ever since I was a kid. Do some Reebok pumps!
Sweet! Can't wait for the 97' Air Max Silver Bullets 👍🏻👍🏻
I weigh 100kgs and these are one of the most comfortable all day shoes for me. Boost and zoom are too soft/unstable for me causing foot fatigue after several hours of wear plus they bottom out really quick. These big bubbles are they way if you are looking for more stable feel with some cushioning
I was curious about the new/old big air bubble, keep doing this series
I like to see them come back with their old sneaker styles.
Your videos are really great! Please keep the series going. My favorite is the Air Max 90, I'd love to see if the money for that (very affordable) shoe is worth it. Thanks!
Air Max 90s are 1 of my favorite shoes. They are a classic shoe that is comfortable too.
how much height do they give?
Plz do AirMax series
omg yes! havent watched full vid yet (commenting with 1 minute of release) i collect these. I love them. So happy to see this video.
Edit, watched the video incase anyone wondering
Is it comfy?
@@stauker.1960 yep. I think they’re super comfy. Shoes that are comfier exist, but I’d say compared to Air Force 1, Jordan1, or any other Nike air tech I think the air max 1 and air max 90 take the cake for being the most comfortable.
Thank you for making this type of videos. And yes. Please. I’m interesting in the Air Max 180. Love that shoe but I had either a defected one or not but the air leaks so bad that makes this a annoying sound but I love the shoe so much i don’t care anymore. Tnx again man.
Gotta see you dissect the entire air max line 🌊🏄🏼♂️
I can’t help but wonder if the support from the air is less reliable over time. I mean, I’m most containers that hold air lose pressure over time
Awesome review!!! Had no idea there was an airbag at the forefoot. Glad to hear you may do more Air Max's 😎 This AM1 Retro is my new favorite. Soooo Classic. Best AM1 of 2023 hands down. ❤ Nike
Love airmax 1's ! thanks for making series about my fav nike shoe :)
Quite surprised that there is 2 air unit in the air max 1. Please continue the air max series.
These OG's looked really good with the green in the air bubble lol
Comforted all the airbubble popping fears in one video.
there's one called the air max hyperposite that i would be curious of more than other ones but yeah please do a whole series.
Awesome stuff! Please keep the air max series going! 🇬🇧🇬🇧
I love watching videos on shoes..... That I'll never buy lmao
Hey Rose Anvil...any change on a video on a pair of Balenciaga mens Bulldozer Marker Lug-Sole boots? I think it'd be great to see them cut up and critiqued. Thanks for all the entertainment sir👏
Please do a air max series , subscribed because of this video ❤
