The 2's had durability issues and broke apart quicker than regular shoes. Wish my 20 year old 2's were still in wearable condition because I love the design in my opinion.
I liked the Team Jordans that Eddie Jones and Vin Baker wore back in the late 90s. A lot of kids at my high school rocked them. These days, kids only want “hype”, but back then it worked
Jordan 6 Rings are among my favorite Jordans in terms of both looks and comfort - size up 1/2 size (or even a full size) and they're great. Great quality materials and unbelievable construction. Jordan 2s are also some of my fave since they have that quality formal look.

In my day, the term team Jordan didn’t even exist. Meanwhile, back in the early 2000s, tons of guys balled in Jordan Pure and other team Jordans and they were all over the shelves. You definitely saw them as much, or more than the signature lines post 98 retirement. I only recall seeing one guy ever wearing a pair of 15s. I honestly think this is just a teenaged-brand name-labels matter-gotta pay $700 over retail for the Travis Scott’s day after release mindset. Before this new version of being a sneaker head, people just enjoyed getting some fresh sneakers and nobody cared that they were the cheaper ones.
Incredibly accurate comment. All the "You're not a _real_ sneakerhead if you wear/don't have X shoe" is so vapid and often devoid of individual thought. There's too much of a follower mentality in the sneaker hobby, as if seeking the approval of others by having the "correct" taste in fashion is the goal.
Og team jordans were worn by folks to ball in and they were made for that. The issue is when jordan re-released them in non og colorways and cheaper quality too. I feel like it's jordan brand's fault in a way for how team jordans are viewed today

The Jumpman Pro, Pro Quick, Trunner and Strong (vin bakers) all sold out when they dropped and are the few that aren’t known as “Miguel’s”. Growing up in Houston and Chicago when they all originally dropped, EVERYBODY was rockin those. The hate didn’t start until social media. Same with Jordan mids. When that Old Love/new Love pack dropped…they sold out and resell was crazy. Same with the black n gold patent leather mids.

I feel like if you weren’t alive to see Jordan play in Jordan’s, you shouldn’t be able to speak on certain things involving the shoe because you weren’t around to SEE what people were actually wearing. I live in houston and worked at the “Jordan mall” (Sharpstown but referred to that name because they had the most shoe stores with the most Jordan’s), we sold more Randy Moss “Super Freaks” in both colors than we did OG Laney 5s, Columbia 4s and white/silver 5s. They would’ve seen that olive 9s NEVER sold out and went to outlets. Just like how we had to put Laneys on clearance. Same with Mocha 3s, Olympic 6s. The only retroes people actually really bought were the 99 Jordan 4s in both Og colors and the 11s because it was the first time either had been retroed and that was the only time you got a pass wearing “old” Jordans because before that, the retro attempts FAILED.
You're wrong about the 11. He wore those the year before in the playoffs against the magic after he put away the 45 and back to 23. And he wore them in the summer shooting Space Jam
I love 6 rings because they are the perfect everyday Jordan shoe to play ball , work out and other activities in while still having that nice Jordan look, plus they have very good material. as a true sneaker head, all your shoes can't be retro, you have to have that shoe that won't hurt you messing up.
This episode is so awesome and informative. You should do more of these. Jordan Flight Club 91 and Jordan True Flight are other shoes that people feel are knockoffs of their more famous cousins the Jordan IV and Jordan VII.
I agree about 6 Rings looking mostly like knock-off 11s however I did get the Valor Blue/Ice colorway because I'm a UNC fan. I'm always partial to University Blue Jordans and Valor Blue is really close to the color. I think they look awesome but I'll prob just wear them when I go out to watch March Madness games or an actual UNC game.

I only ever ownef 1 pair of Jordan's. The 14s. Blk/red. Loved them. Paid $140 for them in 98. They were very grippy. Very stiff, reminded me of hockey skates. I'd love to own a pair of 4s some day. They came out when i was in ninth grade. So many rich kids had em, but my parents couldn't afford them. I had to wear Lynx.
I'm surprised you didn't bring up spiz'ikes, I thought they had some good colorways and that it was distinct enough to stand it's ground, but it was kind of hated on around my pants when it first came out. Nowaday it seems like there's a decent following for them , but they never did sell that well
Good vid but a slight correction “Fusions”are the Jordan x AF1 where “Hybrids” are several Jordan’s put together such as the Spizikes, 6 Rings, 60+ and Son of Mars. Two completely different concept lines. And the Spizikes are by far the most popular Hybrid.
We older non hype beast sneaker heads grew up on the those shoes they were fire. Can definitely tell they dont know about the jumpman pros and the clean team jordans we got in the 90s
When they originally came out, the Jumpman Pro and the first Team Jordans were both really great basketball shoes. I had both and they were terrific and durable
Not gone lie, growing up the team jordans held value, the 6 rings was dope asf, and the fushions was on point. No haterd at all but this new generation got no respect 😂
I knew nothing about Jordan's until last year, when I started buying some. My first pair: 6 Rings. I got a few complements from some girls at a local strip club. Next pair: All white mids. But guess what? I wear a 14, which means my mids are most likely higher than your highs. Next 2 pairs: 11 Comfort lows! Concord and Bred colorways. Most people complement them, but I've also caught some confused looks. Other J's: Triple white 1 lows Wolf Grey 13's Wheat 13's Playoff 13's Gratitudes (x2)

As a sneakerhead I have to disagree. To some point all Js that were mentioned here are loved to some extent. Fusions, 6 rings, Spizikes, dub zeroes, 2s, mids & team Jordan’s had some heat to them. All went platinum in the hood when they released.

The Jumpman Pro, Pro Quick, Trunner and Strong (vin bakers) all sold out when they dropped and are the few that aren’t known as “Miguel’s”. Growing up in Houston and Chicago when they all originally dropped, EVERYBODY was rockin those. The hate didn’t start until social media. Same with Jordan mids. When that Old Love/new Love pack dropped…they sold out and resell was crazy. Same with the black n gold patent leather mids.

I feel like if you weren’t alive to see Jordan play in Jordan’s, you shouldn’t be able to speak on certain things involving the shoe because you weren’t around to SEE what people were actually wearing. I live in houston and worked at the “Jordan mall” (Sharpstown but referred to that name because they had the most shoe stores with the most Jordan’s), we sold more Randy Moss “Super Freaks” in both colors than we did OG Laney 5s, Columbia 4s and white/silver 5s. They would’ve seen that olive 9s NEVER sold out and went to outlets. Just like how we had to put Laneys on clearance. Same with Mocha 3s, Olympic 6s. The only retroes people actually really bought were the 99 Jordan 4s in both Og colors and the 11s because it was the first time either had been retroed and that was the only time you got a pass wearing “old” Jordans because before that, the retro attempts FAILED.
4, 5, and 6 are the best looking Jordans. 6 are my favorite.

I love 6 rings because they are the perfect everyday Jordan shoe to play ball , work out and other activities in while still having that nice Jordan look, plus they have very good material. as a true sneaker head, all your shoes can't be retro, you have to have that shoe that won't hurt you messing up.

I agree about 6 Rings looking mostly like knock-off 11s however I did get the Valor Blue/Ice colorway because I'm a UNC fan. I'm always partial to University Blue Jordans and Valor Blue is really close to the color. I think they look awesome but I'll prob just wear them when I go out to watch March Madness games or an actual UNC game.

I only ever ownef 1 pair of Jordan's. The 14s. Blk/red. Loved them. Paid $140 for them in 98. They were very grippy. Very stiff, reminded me of hockey skates. I'd love to own a pair of 4s some day. They came out when i was in ninth grade. So many rich kids had em, but my parents couldn't afford them. I had to wear Lynx.

I'm surprised you didn't bring up spiz'ikes, I thought they had some good colorways and that it was distinct enough to stand it's ground, but it was kind of hated on around my pants when it first came out. Nowaday it seems like there's a decent following for them , but they never did sell that well

Good vid but a slight correction “Fusions”are the Jordan x AF1 where “Hybrids” are several Jordan’s put together such as the Spizikes, 6 Rings, 60+ and Son of Mars. Two completely different concept lines. And the Spizikes are by far the most popular Hybrid.

I don't get the mid hate. The low's wear out easily in my experience and the high's are sometimes a hassle to get on. I quite like my pair of mids.

I knew nothing about Jordan's until last year, when I started buying some. My first pair: 6 Rings. I got a few complements from some girls at a local strip club. Next pair: All white mids. But guess what? I wear a 14, which means my mids are most likely higher than your highs. Next 2 pairs: 11 Comfort lows! Concord and Bred colorways. Most people complement them, but I've also caught some confused looks.

As a sneakerhead, I love different models of shoes especially jordans, I love the jordan brand shoes, I have never had a problem with the jordan 6 rings and other shoes
Back when I was in high school my first pair of jordans were the spizikes, and I loved them, no matter what model jordan brand comes out with,I'll always love different shoe models
As a sneakerhead I have to disagree. To some point all Js that were mentioned here are loved to some extent. Fusions, 6 rings, Spizikes, dub zeroes, 2s, mids & team Jordan’s had some heat to them. All went platinum in the hood when they released.
