NPC stands for Non Player Character, opposed to the PC, which stands for Player Character.
NPC's are the people that make up the setting the players are in, or persons they interact with.
Kinda like supernumeraries in movies.

Switching this to 6/8 was a FANTASTIC choice. Think it makes the instrumentation fit the song SO well, where the original 4 mightve felt a bit strained, even if it was still great.
