"I love iron maiden!" meant something totally different in 1485.
The Iron Maiden is not actually a historical torture device. It was created as hoax in the Victorian era.

This unironically started my journey into listening to metal music. I used to be (and still am) really into folk music and those bard-core covers, and after listening to this I checked out the original Maiden song, and now I own a couple Maiden CD's I like them so much. Thanks so much for this!
Just a small recommendation, check out Primordial from Ireland.
Much of metal bands like Dio, Iron Maiden, and Helloween were inspired by or pay homage to those medieval times singing and making music about legends and myth.
I went the opposite, love metal now started listening to folk xD
Maiden have a lot of folk influence as it is. Dance with the dead is damn Celtic! Not to mention Death of the Celts from their latest album.
Same!

When travelling in Tallinn, Estonia in 2001, I saw a trio playing 'heavy metal' with medieval instruments...That was magical to see this great performance in the old city.
Amazing!

I never heard the Iron Maiden song itself.
But your style automatically resonates so well that I would change the title of this version to Light In The Dark.
Guaranteed chart topper in the era.
The tavern be getting lit to this.
Yes, the tavern is lit because of the guests fear of the dark.
This version of the song is way funkier because of the slower pace of the beat. Instead of having this running sensation where something is chasing you, it's more like Sneaking through the dark trying not to get noticed by the horrors that lurk within it.
It feels more like a quest, as you're leaving the castle for an adventure
I guess that was the actual point of FodD, and if not, it is now
Right 👍
God damn, that was poetic
You have no idea what "funk" means, do you?

Would someone please mod this man into Elder Scrolls, for heaven's sake?! I want his songs in every tavern across Skyrim, with Algal the Bard as headmaster of the Bard's College in Solitude!
hahaha was just thinking about how i wish he could replace the skyrim bards
Ha. Was thinking exact same thing too! Someone get busy on this mod!
This could be a good one for hunting vampires.
Ha this would’ve been clutch to play for a boss fight back in 2nd edition DnD but that’s ok we had the originals and it worked too. This is a masterpiece either way and thank you.
If you know the name of the song you want to replace it's actually really easy to put new music in Creation Engine games. Just give the track you want the same name as the track you want to replace and replace the old track with the new one. Easy as that. I have tracks from Bladerunner 2049 in my Fallout 4 lol
This does something that most Bardcore doesn't, it actually sound bardic.
Because Algal's covers are made from the heart, with actual instruments, and not souless renditions of computer-generated ones.
Iron Maiden, especially bass player Steve Harris, love Celtic and traditional music. I’d love to hear Algal do some Led Zeppelin songs for the same reason
Think a lot of that has to do with the musicality of iron maiden and their themes and music writing.

I got in a big argument with my Music Teacher when I was 13...
Internet was not as established as today)
He said "modern music" was simply not possible on medieval instruments, and i called bs on that. It was just about the people's mentality at the time, so even if somebody composed stuff like this, nobody wanted to hear it back then...
It is so nice to see this, and to know that I was right is just the cherry on top.
Totally right, and if you listen some classical it fits perfect with metal instruments!
Your teacher was a closed minded idiot with no understanding of music.
Try wagakki band....you will be blown sway
I had a similar argument with my freshman year music teacher.. I asked him "if "modern music" is still using the same notes and scales from the ages of chamber music and gregorian chants, then why would ANY instrument from past civilizations, capable of playing those same notes and tones, have an inability to play music from today, which is arranged and utilized in a relatively less complicated manner than music from those time periods?"
This link perfectly exemplifies just how music from polar extremes of how modern music can be played on instruments from centuries ago..

Those crit are rookie numbers yo
What overpowered char! Love it haha
Won't affect allies, this only triggers when the bard walks alone. But it's a constant fear, so it has no mana cost.
New name idea. "Rage of Dying Light." The buffs don't sound like a "Fear", but more of a berserker losing his control, and deciding that the dark whatevers don't need to exist anymore.
As to the numbers, a -25% on Defense is fair, as a frenzied berserker doesn't care who is trying to hit them. All he wants is to stomp a crater in whatever has his attention at the time. +50% to Attack Power and Speed is also fair. When a berserker awakens the fire that sleeps within the blood, he becomes a force not to be trifled with. The +15% to Crit is a bit high, in my opinion, as he really doesn't "aim" it's more of a "damage whatever's in the way at the time."

I am a man who treads alone,
When on a darksome road I'm thrown,
At night or through the park I roam,
And when light fades, I feel unknown.
Fear of the dark, it's always there,
A constant weight that I must bear,
The fear that fills me with despair,
And makes me feel like no one's there.
The blackness holds a terror deep,
That haunts my soul and doth not sleep,
With every step, my heart doth leap,
As doubts and worries take their keep.
At times, a sense of dread takes hold,
As shadows creep and stories told,
Of spirits that the night unfold,
And leave my nerves and senses cold.
But lo, I know that dawn will break,
And light will banish all that's fake,
The sun will shine, the birds will wake,
And I shall rest, my fears to shake.
