Hildegard von Blingin is a siren. I'm a grown adult but when I hear her voice I want to follow her pied-piper style. Seriously she has a haunting voice. A once-in-a-lifetime voice.
I loved this song when I was a teenager in the 1970s. I still love it now when I am in my mid-60s, but man does it hit differently given that I am closer to the end of my life rather than the beginning...
I'm 18, and I absolutely adore this song. I'm interested to see how my interpretation or listening to this gorgeous music will change as I grow and mature.
This is beyond exquisite. It's lovely to hear your music with astounding vocals, and it's wonderful to hear Hildegard with an instrumental accompanyment worthy of her talents. Please, please do more together.
@@MossyMozart Oh yes! I struggled to find the version of that that I remembered from my youth. Originally Joni Mitchell, made famous by Crosby, Stills and Nash. But the version I was seeking was by Matthews Southern Comfort (interestingly, a British band).
This one will always have a special place in my heart. Played this song with my dad at a wedding and a funeral. So beautiful, her vocals are so gorgeous
@@jeremyeineichner7271 Interesting. That line is actually originally from an old, long-running soap opera from the 60's, "The Days of Our Lives." A voice-over opened each daily episode with that line.

Absolutely phenomenal talent, all of you! Hildegard's vocals are, as always crystalline and spectacular. And Algal the Bard's instrumentals provide a fullness to the sound you can't get without real instruments and the talent to play them well. Liked and Subscribed. The algorithm must be told

Just sat down to have a medium rare New York strip, garlic mash potatoes with peppercorn gravy, sautéed mustard greens and a Vesper Martini 🍸. Delighted to find Hildegard posting this lovely piece. Thanks for the wonderful serenade to my meal.
This song was made for Hildegard. This cover tops the original. And the instrumentals are wonderful. Also love the turning pages of time (which will also turn to dust). Very inspired. "The moving finger writes, and having writ, moves on." p.s. Another new sub for Algal!
This collaboration is a match made in heaven. Thanks for blessing us with those divine sounds, both of Hildegard's voice and Algal's multi-instrumentalism.

Aw this brings me way back. We had that one back in my day, around 160 BC, during the Maccabean revolution against the Seleucid empire! Except we played in on harp and we called it "Wisdom of Solomon". The words were a bit different but I remember it going like this "Then people go to their eternal home and mourners go about the streets. Remember him-before the silver cord is severed, and the golden bowl is broken; before the pitcher is shattered at the spring, and the wheel broken at the well, and the dust returns to the ground it came from, and the spirit returns to God who gave it. “Meaningless! I usually don't comment on videos like these, but the vocals put me to tears. So hauntingly beautiful in company with the lovely instrumental arrangements.
