    I can imagine all the neuroscientists in their lab doing this party trick over and over in order to find a cure for Parkinson‘s disease😂

      Yes, but with lab coats, and lots of glassware with colorful fluids in the background.

    Is it the same as when you run on the treadmill for an hour and when you get off you still feel like you're on?

    • @darkfalcon7856
      @darkfalcon7856 2 місяці тому +16

      Yeah, it's a fun, trippy thing when everything seems to be moving around you after you get off the treadmill and start walking.

      I think that's more a dizziness thing like when your brain is moving inside your head, also like when you get off a rocky boat
      could be wrong though

    Just a small correction re: spelling: It's named after Oskar Kohnstamm (not Khonstamm), a German neurologist and pychiatrist.

    I actually use this, with some variation, for some of my patients who have difficulty with active range of motion due to injury or neuro issues. It's awesome!

    I remember having a different version of this as a kid where we pushed our fists together for about a minute and it felt like your fists were magnetic and pulled towards each other! Cool to see that this is actually a science thing!

    this feels kinda similar to when you still maintain your behavioral patterns that helped you adapt to stress and depression even after you're put in better place and have no need for them anymore

    I have nerve damage in my lower back that results in involuntary movement in my left calve muscle. It is constantly twitching, moving, flexing and even in my sleep and it never stops. It goes on 24/7 for the last 14 years since my back surgery. It hurts constantly and wants to cramp up if I try to turn my toes downward. Like Charlie horse type of cramp and it's the entire calve muscle. Since it's constantly moving, the muscle has grown stronger and bigger and is now considerably bigger than my right leg muscle, which is my dominant muscle. Though some of that could be swelling and inflammation from the constant movement, I guess. Also, since I can't afford insurance anymore and I make just barely too much for Medicare, I'm left with no way to pay for a doctor's visit and I can't get it checked out. God it sucks!!!! If you want to see it I'm action just let me know. It's freaky looking sometimes.

    Can this phenomenon in part be responsible for why it’s easy to get a cramp if you position your body in an unusual way for a long period of time? i.e. leg cramps at a desk or neck cramps after sleep?
