Don McLean and Home Free what an amazing combination! This was absolutely marvelous. Always loved this song and this rendition with Don and our boys took it to a whole new level. Hope Home Free and Don do more collaborations.
Hubby of 52 years is a painter named Vincent. For a couple years I have dreamed that Home Free covered this. Wow! Dreams can come true!
78 years old and his voice is still awesome.
Rob's voice is as smooth as velvet. The harmonies amazing as only Home Free can produce.
This is soooo Beautiful &, Sad…. Van Gogh’s paintings are renowned….he left such a legacy to the world 💕‼️ I would love to travel back to Amsterdam again &, go back to the museum. This song depicts his tourchered life…Don wrote such a beautiful song ♥️💕♥️
I totally agree, they sounded amazing. Rob and Austin were fantastic. I agree, it's going to be so strange when we don't see or hear Austin in a home free video anymore, so we have to cherish all the one we have now.
That was just beautiful. I love how they blend so well with Don. It's almost like they were meant to song his songs with him. They seem to be bringing new life to these classics. WOW!!!!!
This brought tears to my eyes. It was so beautiful! I can't imagine Home Free without Austin and Austin without Home Free. Vincent actually committed suicide. So sad.
Hauntingly beautiful lyrics about the troubled life of Van Gogh. Don also knows how to paint a picture with his lyrics. #HomeFree collaborations are the best and always ensure the featured artist(s) takes the spotlight. Just WOW!
Such a beautiful song, perfectly performed! So glad Austin was still with them for this! ❤
I've always loved this song and Home Free managed to make me love it even more. Bonus, we get to hear Adam's sweet voice. And, Rob! Wow! Don still sounds wonderful. Thanks for the Home Free reactions
Going to miss Rob and Austin singing together.
We’ll be fine.
Love them all in the painting on the wall. Sneaky creative surprise ❤😂
❤🤠#HomeFree. Beautiful. Great reaction ❤.🏠🍟
Don initially chose Home Free for American Pie because he said they understood harmonies- he was right
I can't hear this without getting emotional.
Vincent van Gogh struggled fitting into the world, as so many do, and there are different versions around on how his ear which was really only his earlobe, was cut off. He died at age 37 a few days after shooting himself in the chest. He spent time in an asylum after admitting himself.
As the lyrics say, the world didn't understand him, they didn't love him, but he was pure love.
There are letters that he wrote to his baby brother, Theo, and others, that have been the basics of a film or two about his life.
Too many feel as of they don't belong in this world because they as much love. Its my understanding that this was the case for Vincent.
Beautiful song, gorgeous performance. And Rob, there's just no words.
Saw Home Free last night, it was undescrible !! I have been to 7 or 8 of their concerts and this one topped them all. Austin let it all out and got a tremendous farewell. All the guys were great, Tim was in fine form !! Going to miss Austins stage presence and his fantastic voice.
❤❤ I will miss Austin. Don Mclean still has it. Home Free is my favorite group. Love Home Free.
This is such a great song by Don McLean! He originally did it in 1972. What a great remake with Home Free! Rob's voice is perfect for this song. Such a beautiful tribute to the sad life of the painter Vincent Van Gogh. He suffered from depression & committed suicide. He never saw any success during his life. But now his paintings are worth millions of dollars.
Absolutely beautiful.
Rob's voice always make me smile😊
This Don McLean song is so beautiful, and Home Free adds even more emotion.
It's rare that songs talk about a painter, in France France Gall sang "Cézanne peint", a nice song too.
Yes, I agree. Rob and Austin's vocals were so beautiful and such a magnificent addition to an already fantastic song. Don McLean is such a legend, and I've been loving his music since the 70s. Definitely a personal favorite for me. HomeFree adds perfection 👌. ❤🥰
Outstanding Don,Outstanding Homefree. I had tears streaming down my eyes during that. Beautiful rendition.Knowing quite a bit about Vincent VanGoph and his tragic life and death in his suicide it really touched my heart.Don sounded like he did when he started the music I knew.#Homefree ,#Don McClain. THANKYOU D X
Great collaboration! Go, Rob!
Thanks for your reaction to this very moving collaboration of Home Free and Don. All aspects of this video were stellar.
Be well, glad to be a subscriber.
So amazingly good! Don sounded great and Rob was superb. Loved the video too as they ended in a painting….beautiful! Good one D!😍😄
Had to watch it twice because i wanted to see your face you looked so enotional. Live watchinv you reacting to Home Free as u r so free with your emotions be it hysterical laughter or touching emotion like this. Have j reacted to Tims song I've Seen. Nana Karen UK❤
How good was this!?! ❤
I love your Home Free reactions
Great reaction! What a beautiful combo, loved them both doing American Pie. At 67, I've loved listening to Don all these years. Peace from Northern Michigan.
Always loved this song❤
Was afraid this was gonna be yet another F up of an excellent masterpiece about a Dutch master, but I got to admit they've surprised me in a positive way. Well done.
A truly magical performative collaboration with a legendary artist in which Home Free seems to enhance no matter whom they perform with.
Such a beautiful rendition of this beautiful masterpiece by Don McLean and Rob compliments Don so perfectly.
I'll never get enough of this 🥰
Don McLean still has his voice. Love this song and the boys sound amazing. Beautiful but so sad.❤️❤️❤️😪
"A legend passing the torch to legends." So perfectly put. Great reaction.
Thank you to your system for amplifying Tim’s bass lines to a volume level neither the original nor any other reactor’s playback have reached (at least among those I have heard so far). His notes are low, foundational, and superbly performed.
Simply magical……love Home Free ❤ #HomeFree
It was Beautiful! The song and the video together.
How cool was this. Loved it.
❤❤❤
#HOMEFREE......so beautiful!
it's high time for:
Marcin - When NBA Hires Just One Guitarist for a Halftime Show !!😃
First time I have heard this song. It is beautiful everyone sounds so good together
When they collaborated on "American Pie" it was done separately during the Covid lockdowns. It so nice that they can be together for "Vincent". Home Free's harmonies are incomparable & Don McLean is such a masterful lyricist - this song is so deep, it's poetry set to music. Thanks for playing this & your comments.
PS - I so want a poster of the Van Gogh painting on the wall at the end with Don McLean & Home Free!
This is truly phenomenal! What a voice Don McLean still has! Wow. And of course Austin also sang great, but Rob's voice is just perfect for this song. His voice so warm, soft as silk and full of emotion. The quiet background vocals and guitar playing complete it for me. It's the same song as my youth, but with the Home Free twist it's something different. A beautiful song where I, of course, as a Dutch person, know the history of Vincent van Gogh well.
If I could, I would have given Don McLean and Home Free a bouquet of sunflowers in memory of Vincent. The sunflowers one of his most famous paintings 🌻......
💖 💖💖💖💖💖
Have you reacted to Tim singing “I’ve Seen” lyric video ….absolutely lovely.
Wow, you let that go on ... great! (and kind of courageous)
It's funny that sometimes I only really pay attention to the lyrics and what they mean, when I see a cover!
Don McLean still got it! I am happy about that!
And yes, an important part of the greatness of the Home Free guys is how changeable they are, in mood, in tone ... really always going with the style of the music. I am looking forward to all they are going to bring out - seems that they went in a production-rush for the last few months with Austin. At least that is what I understand from a few comments by Austin and the guys.
It is so sad every time even though I already know the end of the story. I'm a crybaby today. So stunning.
You made me cry😭
Lovely. HF may be a bunch of goofballs, but they know when to be serious and/ or respectful. And, yeah, we're all gonna miss Austin.
So Beautiful, They all sound wonderful ❤
Perfection
❤🌻🌻🌻
I wonder if that was really filmed at the Museum of Modern Art in New York??
Notice that the Home Free were in the last painting?
Hi D
I have suggestion for U
Zbigniew Wodecki with Mitch and Mitch - rzuć to wszystko co złe (live)
All the best from Poland
Chills ❤
Geeky-side-note-alert:
In v.Gogh's old home town of Nuenen (southern part of the Netherlands aka Holland) there's a bicycle path through some rural parts ,which is during the daytime already quite impressive to ride on seeing the pavement is painted with v. Gogh's 'Starry Night' as inspiration. But even more so at night because it's painted with glow-in-the-dark-paint and thus at night it starts to glow giving it a very fairytale-esque vibe. I'll put some links of it down below.

Great reaction to one of Don’s best. His songs truly paint a picture and this one even more so, a picture and a story. Hauntingly beautiful, the simplicity of the acoustic guitar with the complex layering of the harmonies and BGV’s = vocal perfection! #HomeFree never disappoints.
Did you notest the last pic they were looking at the end?
For some reason Adam looked scared to death to me? A frozen face, maybe out of his element with not a beat box part in the song? Maybe it's just me, I don't know? A beautiful classic song and another thumbs up reaction! 👍
Maybe he took the role of Vincent...?
Adam looks very different because of his hair style is my feeling. Also, the song itself leans poignant.
@@susansundaram6737 His hair, yes, and I think he has even more difficulty than the other with standing still, keeping his 'a capella hands' from dancing around. There was more hand movement in this one than in most of their videos, but they all seemed to try to keep it to a minimum.
