Hey Dazzy. You didnt ask for the story but yall getting it. I bought my 100L fjellreven with a discount too, reason being the police told me to put my axe in the bag when walking through town. And the 100L was the only bag that could fit my carpenter axe. Like come on, cant a guy walk around town with a axe nowadays. Anyway great video as always. Getting good. Much love, best wishes. Holmen.
You have a reason to have the axe so they can't tell you what to do. All I do is wrap it in scrim net. It is obvious to anyone that you are hiking with a massive pack, no mad axe murderer walks about with a bergan full of camping gear do they? Haha
@@moorshound3243 ofc your right. Our laws in Norway are pretty preppy. We are allowed to carry axe to work/activety. But not from work to home. Its a puzzeling one. But long story short. I carry it inside my pack, i am happy, Karen is happy and the coppers are happy ;)
Nice review mate, i have the L, it fits everything i need and more for a couole of days in the woods. Got 2 sidepouches in size small so i can get things i use more faster...snacks, water, poncho etc, get the bigger ones if u are into wintercamping. Anyway, a nice bag that i can recomend. For the guys that is strugling to choose between M and L, i would go for the L. On the L you can remove the hipbelt completely and use the straps to compress it to a daypack, smart.
I have this pack in black. I absolutely love it. Two medium size pouches on either side and a large on the back. It comfortably fits everything I need. Thanks for the video. Cheers!
No I don’t have the frame but I have also never really thought I needed it. Like you were saying I keep my load out under 13kg. The longest hike I have done with that load is 10 km and I had no trouble. You said you were upgrading some of your kit can I recommend the amok draumr hammock. I just got one and it is amazing. A little on the pricey side but so comfortable. Keep making great videos I will keep watching. Cheers!
@@geoffrey6000 I have two of the 4L vertical pouches and two of the 6L vertical pouches. I mix and match as needed. In the winter when you need to bring more gear the two large 6L sure do come in handy.

I have similar set up with the Jääkäri M and osprey aether 55. For all the same reasons as you. I love the Savotta... My only two gripes are I think it would benefit from external lid pocket zip entry and slightly deeper side bottle holders... I use the Wisport 9 L side pockets as I prefer the one clip entry and find the zips on Savotta a bit of a wrangle. Also their size looks more compatible
Interesting viewing, mine arrives tomorrow same as yours except with the extra internal frame. Still unsure if I should have gone for the Large but cost was a factor. Hopefully some pouches will cover any extra space needed.
Good review, have a mate who loves his, he's got the bigger one. Personally I love my Dutch army Stingray and Saracen, but my absolute favourite is my French army F2, you can pack a house in the bloody thing!
Thanks! Those Dutch army rucksacks look great! And that French army F2 sounds like the one for winter time, for the little extras we bring. This winter is going to be a good test for the savotta
Second the French F2 I used it in service along with a Mystery ranch 6300 pack, but Savotta are excellent quality I also had the jääkäri large but moved it on as the bottom entry when the pack was loaded was a pain to use so i upscaled to the Jääkäri xl which has a much better lower entry pocket but you just can't go wrong with Savotta, buy once cry once.

In winter that's priceless nothing worse than mud and wet crud on back of pack and straps. If you did this on this pack and were really concerned by colour, cheap enough to get a chinese green rain cover for a fiver on ebay and cut it down add a strap or however you want it to cover the mtp
