Dazzy That is some serious gear upgrades. Silky big boy, Gransfors Forest axe! Even the lantern looked to be a good addition. Be careful on the axe, once you get one you end up buying more. Looking forward to your winter wild camps and congrats on getting to 2K. Keep making the great content and it will keep growing.

I must say though mate I've watched youtubers with twenty times your subscribers who aren't even half as engaging, really think you deserve more attention for your content...
Thank you for the advice! I’ll most likely buy that tourniquet you mentioned and use the other one I have to practice with. Appreciate the kind words as well man, cheers
just a PUSH for this comment about the First Aid Gear. I second that it should be placed where it can be accessed in even the worst case scenario. And if possible, put it in a bag on your belt or the like.
Yep, but something that is on the same shelf is the samurai ichiban saw, I just got one in the post today and it cuts just as good and fast as my silky big boy. And only £35 on ebay
Excellent equipment! These few luxurious gadgets make a difference indeed ..but few more kilos/pounds as well ;) Axe and saw ..stunning! top of the top!! Greetings and have fun in the woods!
about your zippo hand warmer in the sleeping bag; zippo does a pretty decent job keeping that flame in there covered but it is still a flame and has potential to start a fire. Also, keep a ventilation system of some kind (not a lot, just enough) since it burns thus potential for asphyxiation. Nice gear, now go get it dirty and keep up the good work.
Agawa also makes a dandy foldable bucksaw you may want to look into incorperating into your kit. I own both the Silky and the Agawa,i prefer the Agawa all day long. Everyone's different but i've found the Agawa can process firewood much quicker and larger pieces (which burn longer). Beautiful axe, can't beat a Gransfors !
You can take the extra bevel off the Garberg incase you didn’t know. I rather the Garberg than a companion, Just my opinion. Secondary bevel makes the edge stronger as well.
You've given me a couple of ideas for kit Daz. Little tip; always have a small cuts kit on your person. You'll not struggle to locate the plasters then lol, if you wander from camp with your cutting tools. In winter, I'd always have a little extra dry clothing, just in case you get a soaking.. You can regard your baselayer for night as part of that, so, a down jacket for emergencies would complete the top half. Great video as always. Enjoyed it.
Sound advice mate as always. I’ve since moved my first aid kit over to the hip belt on my rucksack. I can now quickly detach it too like you said when wandering from camp.

the beginning of this video had me uncomfortable hahahaha. I would recommend having a smaller, secondary med pouch molle'd to the outside of your pack. I'm in the states, but I found good luck with the "OneTigris IFAK Molle Pouch". If I pull hard enough, the way it's designed is that the whole front flap pulls away, so for minor to moderate scratches and injuries, it really gives me peace of mind. Great video. Cheers!
Well done on the production and good call on the loadout items. Down round zero degrees even with a four season bag I think people would be really appreciating that wool blanket. Also recommend a head torch of some sort.
Got a video coming out at 5pm, camping in -4. The wool blanket really does make all the difference, especially without a bivvy it helps keep the wind chill off
I really like the kit, the saw and axe are on my to buy list, a good trade out for your kit would be to get rid of your ground sheet and have a poncho, it's a second shelter, it's a ground sheet, but also it's going to keep you dry on the way to camp. And best of all it will keep your gear dry. Also a solid recommendation is to take a simple bin bag to keep your blanket ect dry.
I haven’t had the axe and saw for long but they’re already right at the top of my favourite pieces of kit. No doubt you’ll feel the same too when you get them. Good shout with the poncho. I do have an emergency one in the organiser but if I’m expecting I’ll switch that out for a proper one
@@DazzyOutdoors Even those thin ponchos are good, but sometimes a bit fragile. Same here with the Poncho, I love it, when I got it I just thought it was good, but since then I've used it so much and I find myself using it often. Yeah mate, so excited to get a better saw and axe, I've got the Silky pocket boy and it has a broken tip, still works good, but makes a short saw shorter haha. As for the axe, currently using a cheap one from a random DIY shop, it doesn't stay sharp and just not as nice either.
That’s something I forgot to mention. As I’m mostly going be to around camp I’ve been keeping a little emergency rain poncho in the organiser, just incase I get caught out

Hopefully I’ll have a video out next week of me putting the tools to use, just recovering from man flu at the moment haha
A saw will drop a tree much faster and with much less energy than an axe if used correctly. The only reason you'd take the havier more cumbersome axe is versatility which is a fare reason but in the UK (I'm assuming based on the accent) if you get caught with either of them you're in trouble which is so stupid.
Just șpiț on that, put a leaf, or pee on IT when are not looking.. When I do see some guys how soft are they... There are some things in this experience that may kill You but, If You do chose to worry and stay in fear You wont live a Day; I do not say to pee on your chopped leg but even so, at least You would feel something how untill You cut some material to tie IT up, and I say IT because You may pee on yourself, there us no joke
Love the thumbnail. That axe and the saw look awesome too. Great color scheme you got goin on there altogether. That big ferro rod throws so many sparks it would be hard to not start a fire. The best striker I've found for it is the bayite striker (it may go by different names but it's basically a small plastic handle with a lanyard hole and a rectangular metal striker). Other things like the back of a knife etc will usually work but not like this does. If you're gonna have an inflatable mat, you should think about picking up some leukotape. It's hella strong and sticky so it can be used to seal a mattress, cover blisters, hold down gauze to the skin, and to do anything you could do with duct tape but stronger and stickier. Here's a link to it but there are other places you can get it and a few other medical tapes that are similar. www.amazon.co.uk/BSN-Medical-Leukotape-Tape-13-7/dp/B081H7PGZG
Thanks man, some useful info here. I’m the same I prefer to use a dedicated striker rather than the back of my knife. I’ll check out those kit recommendations you’ve mentioned. Atb

But then again, I have the extra space. FWIW, I also carry a sub chargeable hand-warmer when the weather is expected to be cold.
You say Eh, asseh and proper in the correct ratios to be Cumbrian, but yev a Geowdie twang anaall leyk,
Whis thou frae marra?
Aahs Whitevven originally 👍
Bandanna over cup then slide canteen in to snug it up.
😂 well spotted mate. Originally from Durham way but been living in Newcastle for a while now.
I used to do that bandana trick but I can’t hear it once it’s in the pouch so I don’t bother anymore
@@DazzyOutdoors Not a Monkeyhanger then phew! Aah'll just stick ter toon patter in future then, hev a gudden the neet mayt!

That's s nice looking jacket, what is it?
hi dazzy, really enjoying your videos. Where’s that excellent shirt from?
TK Max discount aisle 😂
Man those Zippo replacement wick bits are expensive, I've gone back to the old skool red velvet types
Oh no, I may end up doing the same as you then
All that gear for 11.7kg, I was expecting a much heavier pack weight. What make are the trousers you’re wearing in the thumbnail?
H&M’s finest 😆
Watching you handling that saw 🪚 nearly gave me a heart attack, you reminded me of Kenny Everett when he used to do DIY & chop various bits of his anatomy off 🤣 Out of interest where did you get the wool blanket?
😂 I quickly learnt my lesson. The wool blanket is from ebay (Wool Tartan Scottish -Thomson Camel)
@@DazzyOutdoors Cheers for the wool blanket info. You could have easily lost all of your fingers when your hand was wrapped around the handle with the blade half open, as it could have easily snapped back closed on your fingers as it wasn't fully locked out. Take care & good luck with your bushcrafting adventures.
wow. i've got the same backpack and our gear looks the same-ish xD.
great video man, i think i want to do a loadout vid in the future!
Fantastic
Nice vid. Can you or anyone else give me long term review under heavier loads zetera zetera. Cheers mate 😎✌️
That looks like a really nice quality wool blanket, where did you get it ??? And is that a wool shirt or flannel???
The wool blanket is from eBay ‘BNWT Scottish Throw Wool Tartan Rug Camel Thomson Blanket’ I wish the top was wool too but it’s just polyester
Wuttuh buttle. Love from ‘Merica.
To be honest Dazzy, you been a bushcrafter long before this video. And regarding the bushgang thing, i think we are A part of your gang. Proud member, right here. Much love, best wishes Holmen.
Ps great video again. Nice axe, good steal. If you find it geting dull, get a axe grinding stone. Dc4 diamond side is not the best, too fine/small🎉
Good advice.
Thanks mate! I’ve recently bought the hultafors Swedish axe grinding stone, And after a little practice and getting it pretty sharp again. Atb
@@DazzyOutdoors I got the axe size down from yours when I was in Norway, for some reason customs thought it was strange there was an axe in my luggage?
Glad you like it they are one of the best axe brands you can get.
Remember to respect your axe if you don't you will lose toes & that's if you're lucky?
True to rejuice so you Can go en like nothing 🎉 good word🎉🎉
Hey Dazzy, it's my first time watching your video and I love your channel. I also have a friend named Andy who lives in England. and he went to Vietnam to visit and join me in an episode. And I love your country very much. I just supported you all. you can check that in studio section. love you
Very kind words thank you for your support. I bet Vietnam is a beautiful country for this kind of thing, I’d love to visit one time

Thanks mate, I ended going for some revolution race trousers, quite happy with them so far. My mate has an hultafors axe and we were comparing the two, both look like great axes.
Hopefully I’ll have a video out next week of me putting the tools to use, just recovering from man flu at the moment haha
Hey bud,great video.whats the shirt?
The brand is called ‘nerve’ just from the sales isle in TK max
mint👍
Dream? Sounds more like a nightmare!
your awesome
So are you!
Are those 4 or 6 litre side pouches?
What pouches did you buy for the jakaari pack
Savotta’s own medium size pouches
So do you like the axe?
I had a dream last night and the handle snapped. I was sad
Hey man what kind of boots are those in your video pictures
Doc martens combs
Went to Amazon and the EDCM organizer, does not contain any items, it's just a bag. Bad advertising.
That’s shocking mate. I’ll get Amazon told right away
What! No sink? you may as well get a RV camper…
Goofball. 😂
There are some things in this experience that may kill You but, If You do chose to worry and stay in fear You wont live a Day; I do not say to pee on your chopped leg but even so, at least You would feel something how untill You cut some material to tie IT up, and I say IT because You may pee on yourself, there us no joke
you ain't into ultralight lol
i cringe so hard when people taking chairs camping >.
It’s camo though 🤪
i cringe when people care what other people take into nature to enjoy themselves
Voking bla bla👎👎👎👎🤮🤮🤮🤮
Eshol
Holly shit , bro ...

Thanks man, some useful info here. I’m the same I prefer to use a dedicated striker rather than the back of my knife. I’ll check out those kit recommendations you’ve mentioned. Atb
