    You used the analog camera mounts. That's why it was so tight. The digital camera mounts were green. Or mine where anyway. Thanks for vid. You did well.

      I printed my own hardware. It's just suppose to be tite.

      @NHO-RC mine came with the camera mounts already. Purple was the analog and the green was for digital.

    Not using enough heat , looks like your joints are coldish . Try cleaning surface with alcohol and use some flux for clean solid connections

    • @NHO-RC
      @NHO-RC  Рік тому

      Yup for sure. I learned a lot about soldering from this one. The joints on the new esc are much cleaner

      @@NHO-RC the esc battery leads are big. Needs a lot of heat. Sometimes it’s a challenge with a low power iron. Almost need a bigger iron just for the battery leads.

    • @NHO-RC
      @NHO-RC  Рік тому

      I probably should have switched to my bigger iron tip but I made sure to really preheat them on the new esc they look way stronger

      The Tanq w/03 is my next build , have you got this finished and flying ? still waiting for cable?

    • @NHO-RC
      @NHO-RC  Рік тому

      Oh yeah it's up and flying. Blew up my esc once with a snow landing but it works great I love it. Did a video on that too. Tanq seems like a great first frame.

    Clean build!!! came out really nice. Where can I get that 3-D print that holds the 03 unit 😮!!

      @@NHO-RC I actually don’t have a 3-D printer. Is there anywhere that is selling it where I could just buy it

      @@Deltafoxtrot1420 I believe the rotor riot 3d printing service has them all. Noozle3d or something like that there are links on the rotor riot site. If 3d printing interests you at all low end ones start at about 99dollars and are quite capable for things like these smaller items.

      @@NHO-RC have an elegoo Neptune 3 pro and a Saturn 2 lol so I was able to find all the stl files for the tanq and got them all printed this weekend. I started my build and will be doing the flight control and ECS stack in the next two weeks. Then I have to figure out how to program everything and connect my goggles and remote. Still don’t know if I am gonna stick with the RC2 or buy another Transmitter

    Lemme suggest you the best soldering iron is called TS100 soldering iron. It have OLED and it will tell you the temperature, it also got a signal whichever you use from 2s to 6s battery and so many features in ts100 that will give you the best solders, cuz I can see your solders are cold solders and that's won't be any good for long term flights. You need to have between 400° to 800° soldering iron to give you best heating for best shiny plops of solders on your main battery lead pads and on all the motor pads too. But I know you are new to FPV system, I'm just try to help you but suggestion the best ts100 soldering iron and practice soldering it with your practice board that you currently have, and you will see much better soldering with ts100 soldering iron. You got all the best frame, best compensation (electronics)👌🏼👍🏼 you just need best soldering iron, your video is pretty good to watch! 👍🏼 But can't help to cringe my azz when I see your solders are so cold and dull solders. They need to be beautiful shiny plops of solders. Good luck! 👍🏼🤙🏼

      @NHO-RC  Рік тому +1

      Haha thanks. I considered buying the TS100 when I bought my rotor riot toolkit but I figured my existing one was fine but I am now finding the lack of a temp gauge problematic. I did determine why my joints sucked after I did this build so since I blew that ESC up by not drying it out after a snow crash I did a far better job on my new ESC, making sure I took the time to really heat the pads up before applying solder, which I did not properly do on the one in this video.

    • @indroneswetrust1
      @indroneswetrust1 Рік тому +1

      @@NHO-RC yes just take your time to solder it up pretty good then that will give you the best performance and the shiny plops solders will give you lasting longer on your flights. It ain't the time to be like hurry and do thing the wrong way with soldering, just take your time and you will be prime good to go! 👌🏼👌🏼 And it will not be bad for your ESCs. May I suggestion to use silicone conformal waterproof apply on your drone then you can fly in rainy days, snowy days. I do that on all of my drones and my drones have been beaten so hard and fly hard with conformal waterproof on them, it's the best thing you can do to fly in any kind of weather with silicone conformal waterproof.

    • @NHO-RC
      @NHO-RC  Рік тому +1

      I did go with the conformal coating. I actually show the damage I did to the original ESC in this video - ua-cam.com/video/lg3-Ho-QBno/v-deo.html. I didnt know it was really a thing until after Id built this first one I think. Im very hopeful this one wont suffer and breakages beyond props for awhile now.

    Maybe I missed it!? Where's the radio receiver?

    • @NHO-RC
      @NHO-RC  Рік тому +2

      Im using the DJI FPV RC2 for my controller so the O3 air unit takes care of that for me. If you are using another radio youll need to hook your receiver up as well.

    • @NHO-RC
      @NHO-RC  Рік тому +1

      Yeah its pretty nice. I know there are downsides to the DJI RC2 controller but its the formfactor I want and Im just doing freestyle stuff pretty close in to where Im flying so the chances of me having issues with it are pretty low and it adds to weight savings.

    Does the DJI 03 unit also have a receiver built in ? I noticed you did not install a receiver antenna does it just bind with your DJI remote or are you using a different remote like the TX16s elrs?

    • @NHO-RC
      @NHO-RC  7 місяців тому +2

      Yes it does! If you are content with the DJI FPV2 controller you dont need a receiver at all, it all flows through the single one at the rear. I personally like the formfactor of the gamepad style control since I am a gamer, and really dont need too many buttons or fancy features since I only have 2 drones.

      @mikereedakaReedMNweepFPV 7 місяців тому +1

      @@NHO-RC thanks for the quick reply. I have the DJI FPV drone and the Tanq will be my third drone but first build. I am thinking I may want to switch to an ELRS radio like the TX16s ELRS as I don’t game a lot and come from an RC helicopter background and am used to JR style radio. I too don’t need a ton of buttons but I may decide to do more builds and don’t want to out grow my radio. Thanks again I enjoyed your video. Quick question where did you get the blue mat you are using in your video to keep all your parts organized?

    • @NHO-RC
      @NHO-RC  7 місяців тому +2

      Yeah in that case going with a separate rx is def needed. To my knowledge you cant use the DJI rx with anything but DJI hardware. My ESC and everything could support it I just figured id simplify it for myself and save some money. For the mat search for Silicone Repair Mat on amazon. They run around 20-30 dollars and work great. I cant link it here YT will delete my comment if I do.

      It comes in at 480g with no battery or gopro. Its a thicc boi for sure but its so durable! I dont run a gopro though only o3 air unit for recording.
