One thing that is not often talked about is the conformal coating making soldering a PITA, but I can offer my experience in hopes of saving some soldering iron tips and hair pulling. I keep a spray bottle with 99% Isopropyl alcohol and a few soft bristle toothbrushes for removing conformal coating (and general cleaning of the boards before any sort of soldering). It makes all the difference when working with a clean board and 99% IPA seems to be the easiset to buy/use for me. Best of luck friend and welcome to the hobby. Man I wish they updated liftoff micro more and had more of fanbase. I fly on that alot because I don’t own a whoop currently. Wanted to put together a budget build but still it exceeds my budget knowing I will need chargers, extra parts, extra batts, maybe even a soldering kit. So probably will wait again till I have more money.
I do a bit of repairing automotive ecu’s, instrument clusters, etc and I use a conformal coating remover made by MG chemicals that works great. Would be good to have if you need to remove the coating to solder something and then reapply it when done.
Great video! I made a lot of these mistakes myself. On the simulator part, You can absolutely go outside and have fun in angle mode or horizon. It helped me stay motivated because flying in the real world is what makes this so much fun . Before doing flips and rolls in acro however you should really get practice on the sim so you don't full throttle into concrete when inverted. (I managed to break the FC of my Mob8 that way)

3:25 You have lost signal because make a ground appear between you and drone. Small simulation of radiohorizon. =) And because of big water there were no objects that could reflect signal around that rock.

I wouldn't recommend the Cine25 for indoor use unless you live in a big house with things you don't mind being damaged. I managed to cut up my knuckle with it. Like you say, sturdy! I have crashed mine a few times hard and it's still going!
Yesss! One I didn't mention is make sure your VTX antenna is connected before booting up, you can fry a VTX if your antenna isn't connected. My new bbuild I was too excited and hadn't connected an antenna!

The Goggles Integra don't appear to work with it so I am basically watching my PC screen and flying with a TX16S... not sure if I am wasting my time cause Im not really "flying fpv".... any thoughts on this pal?
@@DanFliesDrones I only fly sim on my monitor, no experience with goggles. I think you would either need the DJI app that I believe allows their sim in-goggles, or a VR headset. Flying with a monitor is fine, you just don’t get that “full feel”. However, it will still help muscle memory and basic flight abilities without the goggle experience.

Another tip is don't just leave your batteries fully charged all the time. I keep mine at 3.8V per cell (storage charge). Whoopstor v3 is the shit for tinywhoops and makes it really easy.
@@FPVwineUK Oh, and while I'm at it a bonus tip. Don't leave your batteries on an unplugged charger for months, because I left six on my unplugged Whoopstor for a month and they went down to zero so six of my batteries are dead now. Wish I knew that before!!

@@CCC0122 I sandwiched the VTX upside down above the FC. Not sure why, but there must have been a short, which made my XT30 male plug go PUFF 💨 if I had a smoke stopper it wouldn’t have allowed the voltage to break any components. I’ll make a video! 🫡

put the crux components into a discus frame its the perfect fit :D slap a thumb pro on it and you have a really nice flying robust quad that takes crashes way less serious than the crux while still beeing sub 250

Bear in mind the need to have an operator id on any drone you fly outdoors... Police can now (and will) issue on the spot fines if you don't have one. It's ridiculous, but this is where we are now.

I have my rates the same on Uncrashed & LiftOff as I do in real life. Currently I have them at RC Rate Pitch & Roll 1.8 Yaw 1.6 Rate .64 for all and then RC Expo .25 for all.
@@BeachbumfromBrick if you can’t see your drone and you’re in an open area, flicking it to angle mode should keep the drone level, at a horizontal, and giving it throttle will regain signal usually.

I think there are some conformal coatings that you can solder through relatively well, but I don't know which type it is.

It gets expensive, especially AFTER you start. Crash and you need to replace things!

YEP! Learnt this noob error fairly quickly 😆 I now tend to relax and have faith in my controls, if it happens.

The DarwinFPV CineApe 25 is my favorite drone. It is awesome inside and outside, especially for beginners, and very sturdy.

@@DanialADHOfficial SIM is a good start! Flying is very different in ways, but SIM helps 1000% - DON’T BE SCARED, get out there and fly!
