Improvement Idea: During the milling of the aluminium cage you could add some markings on the cage for the cam angle. Markings from -10° to 60° - long marking for the 10ers, short marking for the 5ers
Its so irritating when there's no antenna protection, no room for a strap, and TPU-only arm protectors that grind off in 10 seconds. You addressed all of those things, awesome design dude 👍
Update! so i got this frame and love it. wish it had mounting holes in rear for normal VTX instead of DJI crap but i understand. i did put a 20x20 stack in it by using a adapter plate. i am flying it in 3D like ZOE FPV and using bi blades and i must say it is one of the best handling quads i have ever flown. i Don't think i will ever fly another frame but this one. it fits all my needs. Brother you did an amazing job with this one. Thank you very much. For anyone thinking about getting this frame , think no more and just get it. You will be a very happy camper!
Just finished building mine yesterday and i LOVE it. My DIY kit was missing some of the 3d printed parts (ESC/FC spacers, foot protectors, and a few 3d parts that i believe were for a different VTX setup than what i ordered), but luckily i have a 3d printer and was able to re-create them on my own. i also made a custom mount for the DJI 03 VTX that holds the O3 VTX and the radiomaster ExpressLRS reciever that came wired to my flight controller, that i think works amazing. there is a VTX mount on thingiverse that you can print, but it doesnt let the air unit breathe at all, so i would think it would be much easier to overheat. Mine also has space for the SD card and USBC port to be easily accessed, which is something i have seen alot of people complain about with the O3 not having mounting holes, and having to tape over these areas. Im also working on a custom camera mount that will allow for a 20mm x 20mm piece of plexiglass to be inserted infront of the O3 camera. (i crashed and a piece of dirt/rock was kicked up into the camera leaving a small scratch, so hopefully the new mount will allow you to just swap a 50 cent piece of plexiglass instead of getting a new camera) Lets Fly RC: Id love to connect with you and share my 3d prints for your quad, i have a lot of ideas for this thing. im also a mechanical engineer so i can contribute effectively to design challenges/mods. Thanks for making this frame man, i absolutely love it.
After 6 months, still in love. My geprc mk5 is also a gem, but the lowe weight that supose to make it fly better..I think they feel the same. So the Tanq is what gets flown❤
Love the color combo and the 8mm arms!!! Great minds think alike. That is definitely gonna be my next frame. I don't care about weight because i never fly with a go pro. I fly for me and me only. I got ride along goggles if someone actually goes with me.
Sean, do this again but move the arms towards the front of the quad instead of down to reduce the width of the quad. You could use servos on the arms. Would be pretty cool.

Mine just came in the mail! I have no idea what I’m doing. Edit: is there like a diagram or anything? Double edit: it slips together real easy once you figure it out. Cool design.
My Tanq frame arrived today, already assembling it. I went for O3 and bought O3 conversion kit but to be honest I am missing some closer info how it suppose to be mounted - especially the smallest two parts in the conversion package, what are they? Are they complementary stands for the antenna mount, it has the same cut angle...byt why not to have it as one piece? BTW why DSHOT300 and not DSHOT600? And lastly I did not buy those TPU motor spacers, since I did not find them on RR website!...I guess my best option now is to grind 1mm off of each of those 16! screws...Why do you not sell the spacers?? Thanks.
I love my Tanq. I want to change it to walksnail, but im not inclined enough to do it on my own. I bought the analog version before I entered the walksnail world

Really cool frame, Shawn! I know you're not particularly worried about weight, and I remember you talking about saving weight in other areas than the frame in your other video, but just curious what is the auw of your completed DJI rig? And what size lipo do you fly with? Sorry if you mentioned it in the video, I'm at work in the bush, and I can't stream the entire thing right now.. Cheers! ✌️
@@LetsFlyRC Sweet, I appreciate the reply. That's not unreasonable. Congrats on the new frame...personally, I think it's the best in the Rotor Riot lineup now. 👏👏👏

@@LetsFlyRC Just built this with the 03....It fits, but the camera is extremely tight in the mounts. Wasn't sure if any solution may provide for a little more room between the mounts. Feels like they could be shaved down a hair.
@@greaterbostoncriminaldefense yes. It is very tight - it was optimized for 19mm wide cam - dji is 20mm. Why not design a simple antenna and wire case for the receiver so you can mount it safely and securely on the bottom of the drone vs under the electronics so you get a better transmission signal.
Wow, are you seariously using super capacitors? A 1000 farad one? Where do you even get ones so small and able to take 6s voltage? I thought normal electrolytic and ceramic ones are better for voltage smoothing..

You mean the fpv camera? Never needed a washer in 3 years of flying this same soft mounted camera design in the skyeliner. It never even moved, slipped, wore out, or lost its angle.
As much as I want to like this frame, I cannot. It will not fit the 1w hdzero vtx unless I run individual esc's or a 20x20 fc in the rear. It would've been my daily if it was a dual 30x30 mount.
