I just bought a ‘24 Forza 350, which of course is CVT! So I’m already a convert! (Those with a long motorcycle memory, please excuse the intended pun!)

I have the NC750X dct and I love it. Biking is about being out on 2 wheels & enjoying the freedom that it brings, rain or shine mate. I made the decision to try this bike out after watching many reviews, including yours. Thanks Lofty 👍

Totally agree with the comments above. Had a few boxer twins 1100, 1200. 1250s and like you think they are great not just in running but visually., used to love to stand and gaze at the engine (sad I know!).
However, with advancing years, the BMWs were getting a bit too heavy for moving around the garage and driveway. I now have a Honda Integra with the DCT and whilst some people say it's awful, I think it's great. The gears are changed at speeds similar to my cars s tronic.
I used to hate hill starts with a pillion and here in Yorkshire there are some steep hills i.e Sutton Bank (you never know when a wagon is going to make it or not), but with the DCT no problem just twist and go.
More and more cars have versions of the DCT and I for one would be reluctant to go back to a manual.
GREAT videos Lofty, at least a biker who can realise that there are variants of two wheel vehicles to suit anybody and we don't have to ride rocket missiles to be credible.
Keep up the reviews, by the way not many reviews of the BMW C400 any chance ?

You are so right Sir, because of a leg injury used to ride scooters but then somebody said, try this Honda X-ADV 750! Well, what a dream machine, does everything better and smoother than I could! Sadly, had to change back to a lighter bike, Honda ADV 350 but no problem, it is automatic so win-win!

Lofty, you are open-minded enough to give a positive review to the Honda SH350 scooter a while ago. I understand there is an upper limit to the use of CVT transmissions, about 500cc I think. Nevertheless in my experience of riding 2 stroke handlebar gear change scooters, DCT m/cycles, CVT scooters, the latter is much the best. The internet is full of stories of senior motorbike riders, changing down to a scooter later in life, and realising 'what have I been missing!'

I think that this is definitely the way forward. There's also at least a couple of companies making aftermarket auto clutches where you swap the clutch basket over. I'm guessing that they work on a centrifugal basis? It would be interesting to see someone review these for comparison purposes Vs the new electronic clutch.

Can you give your option on moto morning x cape 650's engine?

It's basically an ER6 Kwack engine made in China. I would imagine they are very good, just not as good as the latest version made by Kawasaki

Hi John, hope don'tmind me asking this question on this particular unrelated video (great channel by the way) but had quite a bad experience on a heavy bike so looking for a lighter bike. I really like the Honda 1100nt and noticed you had one would you mind telling me if it is possible to lift this bike on my own if dropped (6'4") (I know, don't drop the bike😉) sorry to take your valuable time but your help would be really appreciated, thanks. Stuart

Well Stuart at 250kg....the NT1100 is a big bike and I think I would struggle to pick it up without the aid of my pillion. If you are riding solo, I would go for a lighter bike. There are lots of good middle weight, ie 800cc bikes around 200kg which are far more manageable. It really is about what you need from a bike and what your usage will be......my other rude is an R9t scrambler....love it much lighter. Its a solo bike for everyday, Not suitable really for 2 up or touring.....

Also I'd be very excited, having been toying with buying a cb750 hornet, to have it with an e clutch would swing me over. Even more so if they're offering it for 100 pounds.

Honda upped the price of the hornet by 300 since last year I was probably naive in thinking they would offer the same deal as the 650's. They are fantastic machines, had a few multi's but no large twins.

i own a dct1100,and at first i wanted the bmw r1250rt, i am sure the majority of these bikes are superb, but there were too many videos of brand new boxers with major issues. Not things like light bulbs blowing, but things like engine management system problems, suspension problems, brake caliper and battery issues. The fact that they are bringing out a dct version on their bikes, just screams problems in my opinion.
