I have to say as someone who's owned many flat twin BMW's and done nearly 200,000 miles on them in total it's one fo my very favourite engines, my 2018 R1200R with 125 BHP was a real gem, and offered enough performance for public roads, as you mentioned incredibly tractable and mighty impressive torque! One of my best trips ever a few years back touring northern France war graves etc, open face helmet chilling between 50-60mph in glorious weather for the whole week was pure bliss and a memory which will never leave me! Thanks for sharing your review of this new version! PS easy 55+MPG too!
Beautiful video ❤. I own a scrambler Ducati 800 right now. Bought it in my 20’s, now I’m in my 30's i think this bike better suits me now cause I’m getting old. LOL. And can’t deny that horsepower and torque upgrade either. Cool video mate!
Great review, nice for someone that actually owns a r ninet to compare,I’ve got a 2019 scrambler like you,I was blown away with the fit and finish and better ride quality and the handling, just ordered one 🤦🏻♂️
Do you know or could you ask when you’re next at that BMW dealer - are they likely to bring out other variables in particular the Pure version. I had a pure many years ago, but don’t need super top spec front suspension which is the same as the BMW S1000R, for a bike of this style, which is probably a bit over engineered in that respect , I’d be very interested in a Pure version which if lower spec front suspension could offer a big saving as it does in the previous range. As ever a top class , brilliant review from my favourite You tube reviewer thank you so much
I watched this with great internest. I have a 1250GS on PCP but really don't like the looks of the new 1300GS so assuming I continue with BMW Bikes I'll go for a R12 Nine T as I love the engine and they look great too.
This is the based on the 2008 air/oil motor. Its got more character than the WC engines....Thst said I would also try the R1250r.....thanks for watching
It's a lovely looking bike and I'd prefer the twin clocks to the TFT, but it's hardly good value when the 1250R and 1250RS are in the same ball park cost wise and they have the more modern shift cam engine which has loads more power and torque and ESA suspension too , so unless you want a retro style bike the other 2 would maybe be the better bet?
I’m considering trading in my S1000RR for an R12 Nine T. The bike looks like a super easy bike to ride and has plenty of grunt but is it fun or maybe a little dull, a question I need to answer for myself but you know what I mean. . Is it a keeper or do you think it will become a little anonymous over time.. I suspect it could be a keeper as the engine is bullet proof and you could do just about anything on it, even put a larger screen and throw some bags over and go touring given it has cruise, heated grips and a quickshifter/blipper. Hmmm
@@johnsteel4719 are you asking me or telling me.....you have made your mind up already....why not test ride one or even a 23 plate R9T....Good look in you biking adventures....my R9t Scramber is a keeper
@ haha. It sounds like I’m telling you but I guess I’m fishing for your opinion. I rode one at a BMW open day and was surprised how small it felt but really enjoyed how easy it was to bimble along. Just can’t figure out whether it’s one of those bikes where you are pulled in by the looks but they become a little boring to ride after a while.. you said you loved your scrambler so do you just ride that on the road and does it feel very different to the R12 Nine T?
@@johnsteel4719 alas with ever decreasing speed limits and aginging bones the days of riding sports bikes on national highways is over....unless you go for a 400rr the other choice is a 110bhp roadster....Great fun 😉......
I was enjoying your review until you mentioned the price. I know BMW no how to charge but 17 grand for a roadster is way above my pay grade that's for sure.
I would deffo not argue....very pricey indeed for no benefit......lets see what the Scrambler variant will be like?......I've see the R12..it's a fugly looking offering...once again thanks for watching

@@theloftybiker3090hi Lofty, that’s exactly what I did on the r9t I owned a few years ago. I found the Acra that came as standard sounded very tame, unlike the S C Projects I replaced it with. Great video of a lovely bike. I got an ex demonstrator with most of the whistles and bells for a very reasonable price recently and I like it more and more each time I take it out.

@@CarlaPalma-f8n Yes and at an over inflated price.
BMW being cheapskates and not even retaining the Akrapovic exhausts as stock is a dick move.
