To make it even more nutrient dense one can take another step via making bone broth from the chicken bones/carcass using up all vegetable scraps and mushroom cut offs (for umami flavor) as well. If you add a swish of vinegar to make the home cooked chicken stock actually gel up. 1cup water per half cup bone broth will give a good stock. Tarragon is the best ever herb. Thank you 😋

I enjoy watching your videos because you're good company. It's a rainy day here in Vermont, so I'll be making soup today with some turkey meat stalk I made and chicken breasts I thawed. I rarely have fresh herbs on hand and no longer have an herb garden to glean, dry spices it will be. Ive never used tarragon in chicken soup, but it sounds like a tasty addition. To use up what we have before our next shopping trip, I will be using carrots, onion, celery and maybe add a few potatoes that I need to use up. I don't typically add potatoes to chicken soup. I also prefer parsnips in beef and or pork stew along with rutabagas.

Had leftover beasts from a rotisserie chicken, not a fan of those - they’re so dry. so thought I’d try making a soup of it and picked this recipe since I had most ingredients already and it’s low carb. it’s awesome! And some lemon really did brighten it up. Incidentally for broth, I use Better Than Bullion. That’s the best, and make just what you need.

Looks delicious. Fresh herbs are so expensive at the food store right now and not always so fresh. Can't grow them here this time of year. Would dry herbs not benefit the flavor of the soup? Thanks for sharing. Stay well and safe.
This is very similar to my chicken soup, but I usually cook the chicken breasts in a skillet...until no longer pink and then I poach in the liquid. I also shred with 2 forks! I also add grated ginger. Will try tarragon next time!

Very good! I made it with one bone in breast and 2 bone in thighs. Takes longer. Used a local meat place that brews their own ‘in house’ chicken broth. Don’t like boxed. Great recipe 👏🏻
Never tried mixing tarragon with any other herb, usually use tarragon for this champagne sauce for salmon. I usually make an Italian seasoning blend, (equal parts of basil, oregano, rosemary, and thyme) this is my go to for my du jour.
@@Downshiftology please do; lemongrass is very soothing to cancer patients; so I can imagine to be a treat for chemo or other patients; you are so wonderful so I am sure u can make a healthy alternative of that of Traders Joe’s.

I live in Asia and it's very difficult to get a Leek. I just go ahead without it. A little less sweet and the taste is awesome.
