    After two weeks of bad hair days and watching a ton of your videos, I'm FINALLY having a good wavy hair day!!!!!! I bought a decent hair dryer and diffuser for myself and I'm absolutely blown away by the results!!!!? My hair is wavy a solid 2b-2c, light and wonderful. Thank you again you have made my journey much easier!

    Well, this is perfect timing for me. I've had my wavy bob for less than a week now and today is wash day! I also tend to have less texture/volume in the back so I'm definitely going to be trying your technique!

    Hi Alyson, boy what a timely video with where my head is at these days!! I've taken a step back from scrolling through IG constantly and drooling over hair that I'll never be able to achieve. Finding the colors that not only look good on me, but I gravitate towards anyway...! It is a blessing to find simplicity in your routine because I believe it brings us happiness in our everyday lives. I hope all is well with you these days and you enjoy this time with your family!

    I have fine, thin hair and anything that is too heavy just doesn't work with my hair. I bought the Bounce Curl Creme Gel and really like how soft my hair feels. I used it with a couple pumps of DevaCurl Volumizing Foam and it was a great combination for me! Three days later and my hair is still soft and curly. I used it to refresh in the mornings too. PS. Your hair looks amazing. That length is so attractive!

    Great video and love your new cut. Without the weight of length, your curls seem to spring up tighter. I always like to see how much product you use. After 6 months on CG routine, I still struggle with weighing my very fine hair down with product. But when I get it right, it's fantastic. I will keep Bounce curl in mind the next time I'm ready to purchase.

      SaBr 417 So I recently received my order of bounce curl. I have fine quite curly hair. The gel is lightweight, doesn’t weigh my hair down, and leaves it soft without any crunch or producty feeling. Trouble is I have no definition and lots of frizz. I do struggle with frizz big time.

    "I like my hair to be weird." I tell ya, that's a good place to be. I look a little sideways at the ladies with curly hair that try to control their hair so much! It's just too much work and a little futile. You learn it's never exactly the same day to day. We have similar haircuts, my curls/wave might be a little tighter but it does similar things. I know I've said it before.... My issue right now is I had a great cut 2 months ago and now I can't get a hold of the stylist. Grr.

      Yeah that's what I finally said. She has had health issues and I think she didn't want to say she couldn't do hair right now. I am going to try another local salon. i will tell you though Wendy, I am adjusting to shorter hair and it's not as manageable at times, transition can be tough! It can just be getting used to and the nuances of product use.

    Your hair style is so cute on you! I love it! There’s no way I could get away with a short hair style like that. It’s way to thick and wild 😜. I’m yet to find anyone with hair like mine 🙁, which has been frustrating because I’m trying to just stick with my natural waves and no heat, and learn how to take care of it with good stuff. I have still been able to learned a lot from your channel, even though we have completely different kind of hair. You’re a great teacher! I do love Bounce Curl cleanser and conditioner and I LOVE THE HAIR essential oil fragrance!!! I DIDN’t like it at first, but boy! It grew on me!!! The gel however, is worthless on my hair 😫. It doesn’t enhance my waves at all and I get zero clumping with it. It was a waste of 💰.

    I just did a big chop myself this week. I had pretty long hair, but now I've got a bob just like yours. I simply didn't have the patience to wait, transitioning is taking too long and I had so much straight hair and it was flat on the top. I've got a lot more volume now, the hairdresser said that because it's shorter it doesn't weigh down that heavily. Plus she pointed out my hair is heavy because it's very very thick. I've got a lot of hair she said. Anyway I'm happy and I'm glad I saw this video. Totally helps.

    I just got my hair cut about the exact same way as yours, and I really appreciate this video for a new take on the hair routine! Tip: the medusa clip method doesn't exactly work for me, but it inspired me to change it up a bit. What I do is I flip my head upside down, grab the hair from one side of my head loosely and clip it to the top of my head, repeat for the other side and back bringing all of the sections to the center top of my head as I grab them, and then the long-ish ends and front section that are left over I just pull over the top towards the back of my head and clip on the top of my head so it stays out of the way. That way, the majority of my shorter hairs still get clipped up. Hopefully, that makes sense! Thanks again for a great video!

Can you please do an overnight video with your shorter hair? Also, I like to blow dry my bangs area (my waves just look like parentheses () if I don’t) open for any suggestions. Determine you hair porosity, I'm a low porosity, my hair does not like cleansing conditioners because it feels greasy, so I use low sulfate shampoos, avoid proteins & use the CG method as a guide. Follow @justlikejackies @hif3licia @themestizamuse on IG, stick to it, deep condition or protein treat, your hair will take time to recover from the heat damage, especially if it's fine. 🤞🏼

      It depends on your hair; they're vastly different lines. J is mostly protein free so if your hair is coarse or you're gluten intolerant, it's perfect for you. BC is higher protein, so if your hair is finer and you need more enhancement, that would be the better choice.

I’ve watched your previous refresh videos but it would be helpful to see how you refresh with the shorter length. 2) Have you had any luck with air drying instead of diffusing now that your hair is shorter? I travel a lot, and I appreciate having a simplified routine with fewer products and the option to air dry. Thanks so much for the fantastic information you provide. It has helped me tremendously! I look forward to every video.

      I literally just scrunch it in with wet hands, on dry hair. Nope, I always diffuse b/c I prefer volume. Glad to help! :)

    I know you mention that you use the conditioner as a leave in too but have you tried any others with the bounce curl? Also, if I use the bounce curl clumping defining cream would I still use a leave in? I’m 2a 2b and afraid it will weigh down?

    I’m so glad I found you! I love you and love your hair and this cut. I want my hair to look like yours and I think it could be something like yours. I am just starting out on the CGM even tho I’m 67. Spent my life hating my natural curly waves and trying to hide them. But I’ve now got my natural color and want my natural texture too. Thank you so much for all the info. I’ve enjoyed all your videos I’ve seen so far. How do I find your amazon shop? I’m also a bit tech challenged. 🤷🏻‍♀️

    I can't seem to figure this out, but "should" you wash, condition, leave in condition each time your'e in the shower, or do you cowash most of the time, and refresh with the full wash/condition routine?

    I have a weird dilemma. I have a bob but also am undercut all the way around (I have enough hair for five people so some of it had to go) and I am generally a 2b... except for one singular lock of hair that’s seriously like a 3a. It makes a perfect ringlet on the side of my head. Everyday. When I used to try to brush out my hair pre-CG that piece with the slightest humidity looked like you’d taken a crimper or wave styler to it. What do I do with that? Do I just embrace the one random ringlet or can I tame it a bit so it matches my 2b waves better?

    I do have similar hairstyle as yours. Mine is 2A hair. On the first day its nice and curly and bouncy. But on the second day my waves fall flat. Can you make a video on how to refresh second and third day curls.

    Trial cg phase question: I get curls while squishing. Does that mean it's a matter of finding the right products to make them stay when dry? Or could it be they're just not "real" enough?

  • @stellistin
    @stellistin 6 років тому +2

    I have a similar length and curl pattern but a lot more thickness. And I am really struggeling to find the right products. Since you seem so in love with yours I lookes them up. I'm sorry to say that they are not really clean. But they contain a silicone replacement called Polyquaternium-10 which i am hesitant to use. Such a struggle to find really natural products...

    • @stellistin
      @stellistin 6 років тому

      sure, it's just easier to use natural products because there wont be anything in there that i dont want. when the beauty industry just tries to fake silicone free products and you end up unknowingly coating your hair again in a silicone-like product (polyquaternium) you will have a hard time finding out whats wrong. with the cgm this gets to be a problem because with the sulphate free products you wont be getting rid of the build up...

    • @alysonlupo
      @alysonlupo  6 років тому +4

      That's why I clarify monthly. I honestly don't believe people can get away with never using sulfates or just water washing their whole lives and never experience buildup. I did recently learn that pquats are considered a microplastic (I didn't not know that when I filmed this video), but I don't have any trouble with them. Innersense and Evolvh might be good brands for you to look into where 'clean' is concerned, but I can't say they won't build up.

    A few years ago, with long hair you had a video of a night time routine. The pineapple scrunched the crunch over night. Is that possible with a bob? I cut all mine off too lol I love it short but I no longer know how to do it over night and sleep in 😴.

  • @kylieghnicole

    You’re making me want to cut my hair shorter! It’s to my bra strap now. I just started the CGM and it’s so hard to manage. Im getting 4ish inches cut off this week to make it easier to style. I have super thick hair and it takes so long to diffuse. This video makes me want to go shorter.

    not only you have wavy and fine hair like mine but we have same haircut too :D
    i had to cut my hair 6 years ago after one disaster with hairdresser :/ but after realizing how easier it is to style it, how it looks better on second day and need less time to wash it i'm never coming back to long hair :D i tried few times, but as longer it is less curly it is... so thumb up for your new haircut :) it is bit harder for sleeping (pineapple is destroying its shape), i only put my hair over the pillow

    Do you have any layers in you bob, or just a regular straight bob cut? Right now I have an outgrown bob that's all straight cut, and I had originally asked for layers and the gal had no idea what I meant, so am curious what you got. I love the length. looks so good on you.

      I honestly don't even refresh anymore. The short hair is just SO easy to take care of. If I do need to, I scrunch in a little Bounce Curl gel emulsified with water and call it a day.

    Thank you, once again, Alyson! After watching this video yesterday I approached my styling differently this morning. I'd been combining my BounceCurl light creme gel with other things because I'd "heard" it didn't have enough hold and, I'd gotten some frizz without using Ouidad Climate Control over it. Well, after seeing how much you're using on your hair (and I have greater density), I realized that I wasn't using enough! So, this morning I put more on initially AND did smasters with it. And, BOOM, great hair today with only BounceCurl light creme gel! YAY! I'd love to hear how you're refreshing with it!

    Super cute haircut! Just now starting the CG method .. did a deep dive down your video rabbit hole in the last two days. Loved the one about simplifying.. how is that going? • @alysonlupo
      @alysonlupo  6 років тому +2

      Rinse it all out, completely out, before applying Bounce Curl. That gel is magic, but it reacts with a lot of products. Just add back in a dot of their own conditioner as your leave in and you'll be fine.

    Your hair looks gorgeous! I love the length and your curls are perfect. I am curious, first off I just recently found info on several of the varying curly hair systems. I myself do not think of myself as having curly or wavy hair. Perhaps the slightest wave in the back. I find combing my hair removes any possibilities of that wave. Years ago I had one hair stylist that saw this wave and worked her magic twice, when I got home people asked if I had gotten a perm. So with all that I think there may be some possibility that I could get more wave/curl than I think. The methods I’ve seen seem a bit complicated as far as products, and steps. How did you find which products and methods you like best. I don’t want to invest in a ton of stuff if in the end my hair really doesn’t curl.

      You have to decide if pursuing being a curl girl is something you want. If you're happy with your present hair situation, don't force it. My two cents!

    i have a hard time styling it cause mine is a semi-bob, cut for straight hair, so it's shorter at the back than the front and also on my right side, because i'm growing out my shaved side (since last year). it was also cut in the summer with that scissor that has teeth, which makes layers, so all the small hairs sometimes made clumps. i can't wait for it to grow more, so it can be cut into a more appropriate bob, for wavy/curly hair. 😫
