I wish I could triple like this video!!! You are the reason I started the curly girl method, I'm so glad you are making new content. This was extremely helpful, looking forward to learning how to read ingredients! Also, your short hair is beautiful, makes me want to do a big chop myself!
Thank you thank you thank YOU! I just have to take the summer off when my girls are home full time. Not worth the stress, but it sure makes me miss you guys! Oooooohhh, you KNOW I'll encourage you to go for a big chop!
@@alysonlupo Don't spread wrong info like this. How can you say that " High porosity hair is only damaged hair" ??? This is the general misconception and you claim to be studying hair as a professional course and still spreading all the wrong things about Curly hair that youtube is filled with. High porosity can be either damaged or " naturally high porosity with no damage" Low porosity on the other hand means " damaged hair" Stephanie from curlyhairninja was so right in saying...UA-cam curly girls are misleading viewers so rampantly. Stop giving out such wrong knowledge so confidently.
You look awesome with short hair! It fits your playful personality so well. Your tips on hair porosity... I have never heard anyone talk about surface tension before and it totally explains my results of the float test. My hair is very fine and that hair strand could sit on top of the water for dayzzzz. I was treating my hair as low porosity, because I figured that since my hair didn’t sink and I get buildup, I must be low porosity. And now my poor hair is dry and breaking. Ugh. This hair stuff is seriously rocket science 😂
Thank you, friend! Well, keep in mind your hair could feel dry, but instead of actual dryness, it could be protein overload. What have you been styling with? And yes, hair is actually a notoriously difficult thing to take care of. I understand now why sulfates and silicones are SO prevalent in formulations; they're truly designed so you never have to think about it, even if your hair isn't actually healthy or hydrated.
real life+curly girl My styling products are all over the place. Gels, potions, solutions, custards, smoothies, sprays... I’ve tried so many products already. The only product combo that gives me reliable day 1 results is DevaCurl Ultra Defining Gel and Wavemaker. BUT, on day 2, my hair feels super dry and heavy. I bought BounceCurl and will try it out tonight. I’m now experimenting with using smaller amounts of products and while my hair doesn’t get a lot of definition, it’s lighter and moisturized. Plus I’m not compelled to wash it every day just to get the gunk off 😣
This is one of the best videos - no, the best video, explaining hair types and how to choose product based on that. I am so glad you are back and your haircut looks crazy good! One comment, and I don’t mean to be negative because I think you are great, but I didn’t like the background music you began and ended with. But I love you and your content, so keep your videos coming!!!
Real life+curly girl this information was very helpful to me! My hair acted like low porosity hair- probably because how fine/ thin it is, but is damaged from years of coloring it and from heat styling. I am going to start adding some protein into my routine as well. Thank you for how much you’ve helped me on the CG journey!
The best thing you recommended was the Mop Top curling custard! My hair was 2A wavy with CAPITAL F - FRIZZ! after seeing your review of curling custard i ordered Mop Top products, my hair has been soooo gorgeous with defined waves - LOVE LOVE LOVE IT - Thank you so much for recommending such good product!
Finally a video that addresses low density and fine hair! I started the curly method watching videos of girls with c3 curls and very coarse hair. Of course those products didn’t work on my hair. Thank you so much!! 💕
Thank goodness you’re back. This video had so much info that I must listen several times. Your hair is perfect! Gorgeous on you. Mine is the same style and length, and there is no way for me to put it up at night. Just returned all the Deva products since they made my hair dry and not curly. I must find new products now. I have very fine, dry, colored, and not dense hair. I will try several of your recommendations. Unfortunately, due to many medical issues, I do take many medications, and I know that these affect my hair a great deal. Love listening to you. Many thanks for the terrific content.
Hi! I know the worry of meds messing with your actual life. There is more to life than just your medical life!!! That can be really hard to remember at times. Finding product can be expensive but exilar
I’m so glad one of your videos showed up on my recommendations! I’ve watched some of them and have to say out of all the wavy/curly videos I’ve watched over the last 2+ years YOUR channel really helped me. You talked about protein, which non of the other channels really ever mentioned. Realized THAT was what my hair was missing and why I haven’t seen a major difference/change in my hair since I started my curly hair journey( I’ve been following all the other curly hair rules religiously for 2+ years). I’ve seen such a change in it in the last 3 weeks since introducing it to protein. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!!!💛💛
Girl thank you! I'm probably just copying what everyone else said but I'm so happy you made this vid. Most of use stumble onto the CGM and first it's just like: ok, cowash and no heat...then you join groups and suddenly it's a college lecture about protein, porosity and whatnot. You get all these products thrown at you and it's a lot of info to deal with...you explaining it is making this a lot easier than reading 10k essays online about all of it 🙌
Holy crap, this was IMMENSELY helpful!! I started the cgm about two months ago and it’s going well. There are so many products out there, and I know trial and error is best, but this is 🙌🏻 Thank you!
OMG! I just found your channel and have been binge watching your videos! You're a life saver and have given me the inspiration to start giving my hair some love. Thank you for your amazing videos! Keep them coming!
Thank you, Sharvo! Oh, and I nominate you to start making vids fo the 2a folks. Your wit is my favorite and I'm positive you have some knowledge bombs you could drop on us all.
Hello ! I've discovered your channel just a few weeks ago and watched as many videos of yours that I could. I'm not doing the CGM right now, but as soon as I my conditionners are empty, I'm going to go all in on that ! (I don't want to waste them just because I've now discovered they're not aligned with what I want anymore). I wanted to thank you so very much for all the videos and all the precious information you pack in all of them. It's really helpful, and even though (because I haven't begun my journey yet) it can be overwhelming at the beginning, it's so helpful to me, it helps me feel that I'm going to make the best of it I possibly can. I bought the book on your recommendation and am going to read it carefully. I can't wait for your video on ingredients, because all of those names and words still sound giberish to me and I don't understand a single thing ! One thing is sure, I'll try to keep the advice of this one in mind when purchasing my first set of products. (if you recommend products for europeans, like me, I found the website Le Curlshop lecurlshop.com/fr/ that seem to have a lot of CG friendly products for at least French people and maybe the shipping would be more affordable than Amazon for some of those products.) Thank you very much again and I can't wait for more of your videos !
In every video, you churn out so much information!! It’s really helpful and helps me learn more about my hair in general 👍🏻👍🏻 I’ve quite fine hair but it’s like a poof if I don’t style it... but now that I’ve moved back to Canada, it’s another learning exp since the climate and water is so different from home!! Drives me absolutely NUTS
Thank you so much!! Was wondering if you could do a budget friendly video on like shampoos and conditioners and products you recommend.. If you have already I apologize, I just subscribed yesterday and haven't gone thru all the videos... I love your personality!! Thanks for great content 💞
So glad you're back!!!! I hope you had a wonderful summer :) you always make my day and I can't wait for all the videos you've planned. You're my curl queen.
Love your ingredient-based content! It helps so much with weeding through the sea of products available and following the patterns of reaction my hair has in response to them. I would love for you to make a video about how humidity, temperature, and dew point affect hair, and what products would be fitting for different conditions. 🙏👍💓 You reference such factors a lot but I’m a newb! And don’t understand the references🤦♀️. But yea! Love your stuff! Thanks for sharing!
Very informative! Thank you for that description of protein overload. Now I understand that better. I have coarse hair and now I know why my hair rejects a lot of product that people rave about.
This is incredibly helpful! I'm a very low maintenance person and have just been using DevaCurl low poo line for the past year. but I'm ready to take it up a notch and really love on my waves/curls combo head. This video has made me feel less clueless and overwhelmed. Thanks for covering so much material but making it so simple to understand. Your new do is fabulous by the way!
This was great and the short cut is adorable! I don’t know if anyone has already requested this somewhere in all these comments (you were missed! ☺️) ... is there any way you could please list all these products by type in the description, like you have in past videos? That is SO helpful when out shopping and there isn’t good enough reception on a phone to look at a video and refer back. Thanks so much for all you do!! Love love love your channel! 💚💚💚
Guuuuurrrrrrll.... Your hair is gorgeous! (*whispers* I have secretly wondered how your hair would perform with a little less weight on it, but never said anything b/c that would be weird)
Yay! New video! I recently realized how much my hair needs protein. I’ve tried avoiding it because of worry about overloading it but my hair was getting too mushy. This video helped explain why! Thanks!
I'm just getting to know my hair. After chemo and losing all of my hair, it has grown back, and it's different. First, all my life my hair was fine and straight. Now, it's wavy, with lots of body. Second, I was white gray, and now it's silver gray. It has been so much fun discovering how to do my hair. Thank you for all the basics, and advanced hair care. When you go from straight to natural curl it's like learning a new language.
Amazing - so so helpful. Those characteristics have never been explained so well and marrying them with product suggestions (especially for the protein issue which has had me completely befuddled!) is golden, so many many thanks! And great to see you back; you've been missed....aaaaaaand I love your haircut! Wow.
Thank you! This is super helpful! I needed help finding products for my hair. I know my hair porosity and texture but I didn't know which products were right for me. I dont have a lot of money and at the beginning of my cg journey so I'm testing out things that work well for me. Thank you again.
Hi there, for us gluten-free curly girls we need to keep an eye on the deva products as they use a lot of wheat protein - arc angel does have wheat protein in it (I just threw mine away after my stylist and I realized it was causing my scalp to itch. Some of us are sensitive enough to have serious problems with wheat protein in our topical products, so I really appreciate you calling those ingredients out in this video!
Very helpful, thank you so much. 39 years old and still dont really know my hair! I think I may be a 2a. I brush it out and then use a curling iron to add body back in. I am realizing I have no clue how to encourage the waves I already have. Your hair seems similar to mine. Thanks for the informative video.
What a wonderfully instructive video. I’ve been struggling with the CG method, and the coarseness of my hair wasn’t something I’d factored in, thank you! Enjoy the silence whenever you can, and love the new ‘do! 👌
I’m so glad I found you! You give the best tips for wavies. I started the cg method almost 4 weeks ago. I’ve stayed very consistent. For the first time, I got a compliment on my hair tonight. It now feels so worth it. Thank you!! 😊♥️
Thank you for coming back! I subscribed this summer and have watched all of your videos. Honestly you’re my favorite curly UA-camr, so funny and knowledgeable. Thank you again for this amazing video! Oh, and your new hairstyle looks great!
I think what I would add is that, for me, at least, my curl pattern (2b) is definitely relevant to the products I choose. I know I'm always looking for products that are curl enhancing but for many of those who have a tighter curl pattern than me "curl enhancing" just means "too much shrinkage!" In that way, I suppose your personal hair goals are also relevant, even if you have a similar texture to someone else. If volume is the most important thing to you, you probably have different product needs from someone for whom clumping is most important, even if you have the same pattern/width/porosity/density.
@Llyra Treks True! I think Jessicurl M Confident Coils is one of the best enhancers. Ouidad and Living Proof both had superior enhancers but both have been disco'd. 2a's need more love!
Ehhhhh, I agree and disagree. Yes, products can have a tremendous effect on my hair, but so can techniques, ie diffusing vs air drying. If I use no styling products on my hair, and air dry, it's almost straight (but super poofy); if I use no styling products but diffuse, it looks almost the same as if I had used products, but doesn't have much hold. So, curly pattern is curl pattern. Yes, we can influence it, but we can't make it do more than it wants to. We can also make it straighter/stretch it. Ah, the malleability of protein. These three areas are still the most relevant, regardless of your personal preference. Coarse hair is going to suffer from too much protein in leave-on products; fine hair will fall flat and lank without it. High porosity hair will suffer without enough layers of moisture to keep water in; low porosity hair will suffer with layers of buildup keeping water out. High density hair can be tangled and out of control without enough product; low density hair is weighed down and looks dirty with too much product. That's why these are the basics, no matter the personal preference of the person under the hair.
In terms of essentials, I definitely agree; width, density, and porosity are definitely the MOST relevant. Especially when you're considering the health of your hair.
I love you, you are such a cheerleader for wavies. I am 72 and have just turned into a wavy...it may be because of the low dose of chemo everyday. Anyway you have been a tremendous help and inspiration. Keep giving hints and advice it really helps me find my way. I have always wanted curls and now I have them.
I’m new to the method, about two months in and starting to figure out what my hair likes. I’m glad to see your new hair as I the same length and am lookingforward to your short hair styling vids. I know 💤 in my hair means I have to just let the back go and restyle in the am.
I'm so glad you are back. Loved the video. I have high porosity, low density, fine hair. I'm a product junkie, but now I know what I should be using versus just buying what I think my hair would like. 😁
Wow! I learned so much! I’ve taken a bunch of notes. I’m still a little confused I had to stop the video so many times to write down the names of all the products. But I really appreciate the detail and depth of information! Thank you!
Thank u for ur help!!! U r the reason why I started the curly girl method!!!! U help me do much with all ur videos and information!!!! Love u girl 😘😘😘😘😘
I absolutely love your haircut! You mentioned it's a layered Devacut but it would be amazing if you could talk a little bit more/maybe do a video about how your stylist created it, what you asked for etc. I struggle so much to get the right cut for my fine, wavy hair. Thanks for your channel!
So happy to see you! This was a great video full of just the info I needed. Your short hair looks beautiful! I’ve been thinking of going above the shoulder lately. The longer my hair is, the more I mess with it all day and make it frizz.
I adore your haircut! just told my husband that we are cutting off our hair at roughly the same rate, and my stylist cut off way more than I planned on, too. (Mine didn’t believe me when I said it would curl up, LOL. She does now). I can’t wait for your styling video! Glad you’re back!
They're always surprised at how much we can 'make' it curl! But that's ok, I don't want to take credit away from them. No one can possibly know your hair better than you. Love that we're on the same hair-cutting page!! LOL
A BIG virtual hug right back to you. It is so nice to see you again. And thank you for helping us choose the right products. You have simplified it beautifully, the tip on how to use high-protein when you begin the CG journey or until your hair gets naturally healthier is quite useful. I missed your videos, and I love the new haircut. Have a great curly day too, Alyson.
Chitra, I'm SO excited to see you back on here, too, Glad we still get to interact via IG! And happy to hear this vid had some uesful tips for you. :) :)
Just wanted to say you are shiny and beautiful and doing something you clearly love! I Love the short haircut too. Enjoy it for now. Thanks for all the tips. I hope I can buy one of the products here in the Netherlands. X
Liesbeth, you are a doll. Thanks for the kind words. You should be able to get Bounce Curl in the Netherlands via MeGorgeousHair, along with a lot of other great CG friendly products. Good luck!!!
Awesome, so glad you're back. You are the best!!! I've missed you & FitKat. Love your hair. Can't wait for all that you have planned so excited. Just don't stay gone so long . 👏💟
real life+curly girl I love you both as a team too, you two are my favorite. Question, how long did it take you to figure out, to really know your hair? I just started late June and I was going with low porosity, due to hair floating. And now just realizing it's high porosity. I have colored my hair now for at least 20 years every 6 weeks or so to cover grey, My hair is fine, dry, colored, not a lot of it, scalp makes some lovely appearance (LOL). Yesterday I used a vo5 protein to co-wash, then Mielle babassu & mint deep conditoner (for 30 mins) then used GVP Balm to co-wash and a tad to leave in, then spiralious, then very little of Krystal ECO (because I fear glycerine). Looked pretty good before beddie by, medussa clippings, although cast was pretty much broken already :(. This morning wake up to very little curl but a lot of frizz, had to get to work quickly so Monday is really a frizzy day but I have some volume, I can hear you saying "voluuume" on your videos and "if that's not your jam", love it, you crack me up. Could you advise a little/tad/minuscule amount at some point, you do already but I'm realy trying to beg here, because I know you hold the goods? Thank you either way Missey!!!
This was so stinking helpful!!! I'm so brand new to all of this and I was beginning to feel lost, but I'm so happy this video was uploaded! My saving grace! Thank you!!!
Yay for new content! Super informative as always.... You're my favorite on YT for sure. I've learned so much... So thank you! And you are rockin' that shorter do! Love!
Yet another amazing video! I watch/trust no one else! Love the haircut. I have a similar one and can't wait to see how you are styling and protecting it.
Thank you so much for this information!! I am an avid Type A note taker, so I watched this twice and self analyzed my hair. (Goosefootprints is scheduling into Sept. 2019!! Yikes!) My journey begins with my next wash, as soon as I get some of my products. I do realize this is a process, but one of my colleagues (I am a physician and advocate at the Capitol in Austin, so very conservative dress, suits, makeup. Yes, even in ATX! We keep it weird by wearing cowoy boots, fun accessories and colorful suits at the Capitol.) did the CG method and she looks so polished with her curly/wavy hair. Keeping it real, weird as I start the journey. Thanks again!
You are so adorable and peppy! Thank you so much for this video. It was super informative and exactly what I needed to watch as I'm only two weeks into the CG method.
This was SO helpful! Thank you. I just ordered the Curly Girl book and can’t wait til it arrives! I’ve always read that too much protein can make hair brittle. I feel like I finally understand what you’re all talking about! ❤️😘
Thanks so much for all your videos. I'm learning a lot from you. I'm in week 2 of going curly only (2c/3a, used to blow dry straight a lot) and am in the trial and error phase. Great to have your guidance!
Welcome back Alyson we missed you! I loved this video and it’s funny I just got back from Ulta and I had a whole bunch of stuff with me some of that you recommended. I have highporosity bleach damaged hair which is extremely dense and very fine. Consequently when there’s humidity in the air I do indeed look like I’ve been in a windstorm when I haven’t .My problem is I have too much volume does that make sense? I am 2C/3A and sometimes I look like a lion when I don’t necessarily want to. Therefore I am so envying you your haircut, and if I had anybody within 200 miles of me that could cut my hair properly I would get it chopped as well. I think it looks fabulous on you. I guess I’m going to have to learn how to cut my own hair LOL my stylist will not cut it dry and I’ve had to give up somebody who I’ve known for a long time, it’s a real problem. Anyways glad you’re back, can’t wait for the next video!
Paula.....there's no such thing as too much volume! Okay okay, I'm just kidding. I do know what you mean. Have you tried heavier products that might weigh it down a bit? Maybe a heavier cream under your gel? Thank you so much for the compliment. I know you'll find someone who can do a good job!!
Welcome back!! I have missed your videos! Thank you for this run-through and for always leaning on the science. I actually understand now why Jessicurl doesn't work for me!
Love love love your channel! You've helped me SO much on my CG journey! I used to rock my natural waves/curls but chopped off 10 inches and dyed my hair for a more stylized "polished" look about a year ago. Been using hot tools for the first time in over a decade and hairspray (ick!). Ugh, I wish I would have done more research before doing that! Now I miss my long locks :( BUT you've given me hope and I'm back on the curly wagon and on the road to repairing my mane
LOVE your story - and I've definitely been there! Sometimes the grass is greener, and we just have to experiment. Forgive yourself! Your hair definitely will. :)
This was exactly what i needed!! This made so much sense to me and now i finally feel like i could get this hair care journey right! Thank you so much! Wish i had seen this year's ago.
Hi Alyson...just started following you. You are amazing. Thank you for all your research.....,sharing. I have just recently jumped back into the CGM......never really knew that it was a method just learned from doing but watching and following your advice has saved me a ton of money and time. Thank you!
I learned SO MUCH!!! I was even taking notes and screenshots of the products you were showing! Can’t wait to start my “hair experiment.” Great job on this video!
Like all the others, I love this video. The content is extremely important and you have this gift of making things fun and interesting. I'm always amazed by your knowledge and level of preoaration. Starting the cg method was a lot easier having your help, explanations and advices every step of the way. Thank you so much for your hard work and the time you put on your videos and posts. 💗💗💗
Thank you this is really handy. I've seen many videos about porosity and texture etc but this is so far the best explanation and also helpful tips on the products. I really find your videos helpful. I've learned so much here. Great way of explaining.
So my hair is originally not wavy but curly, I'm more of a type 3, but that's not visible right now. After 17 years of using the straightening iron every week, my hair is wavy/straight right now. I started the CG method 4 months ago. I've had a hard time finding the right products for me personally. My hair thickness is medium (with some really thick hairs there too), I don't think it's thin because they're quite visible (I have brown colored hair); the density is also medium to thick I think, it's definitely not thin because I've always had a lot of hair. The porosity is the one thing I'm not sure of, the hair strand in the water glass resulted in hair floating even hours later. I have to say though that one thing I've definitely figured out is that my hair doesn't seem to like thick and rich curling creams. It looks weighed down and greasy. Unless I just use a tiny amount through the whole hair and then a gel. It could of course be that the quality of my hair has been affected by all that heat damage. The only good thing I can say is that I have not used any chemicals in my hair, no coloring and no chemical straightening. Just heat damage.
I think that protein is good for me at least now, maybe because of all that heat damage. My hair really seems to like the Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor oil deep conditioner, which has protein in it.
I absolutely love ❤️ your hair!! I enjoy watching your wavy/curly hair videos. I used to be curly but now I'm just a 2a kinda waves. Can you please make a video on 2a hair?
Thanks, Kathy! You know, I read an interesting thread on FB in the Wavy Hair Community group this morning. You should consider joining. It's an outstanding group of ladies.
just discovered your account today as well as CG method. went straight to amazon after watching several of your videos! i'm looking forward to trying this technique out. I've tried almost every product out there without any real guidance so i'm looking forward to the results and i'll try to be patient lol.
Excellent video! I am now questioning some of the assumptions I've made about my hair. For example, I`ve done the float test numerous times and, with the cleanest hair possible, I have medium porosity. But my dense, course hair craves product, so is it high porosity? FYI-Goosefootprints hair analysis now has a waiting list that goes into August 2019. Yikes! I guess there will be lots of experimenting on my own until then!
SOOOO helpful! ❤️💙❤️💙
lol, thats true! I also started this week after I saw some of her videos. good luck girl!
@@alysonlupo Don't spread wrong info like this. How can you say that " High porosity hair is only damaged hair" ??? This is the general misconception and you claim to be studying hair as a professional course and still spreading all the wrong things about Curly hair that youtube is filled with.

Low porosity on the other hand means " damaged hair"

You look awesome with short hair! It fits your playful personality so well.

Oh gosh, you are making me BLUSH. Thank you! Glad it was helpful to you.
I agree with Mary. Finally it is explained! Thank you.
I finally understand the protein thing now. You're so sweet.
I don't know though because my hair is fine but my hair hates protein.
@epit tan my hair cannot handle large protein molecules, I use silk and hydrolised forms and that has helped a lot, thanks 🙂
@@sharroon7574 yes, if you use the protein treatments that only have amino acids in them you’ll be fine.
Yay for new content! Love the short hair. Would love wavy short hair tips, not a lot on UA-cam about it 🙂
I am SO on it!
Jett Galindo True! We wavy gravy girls love our hair. 😊
What are the approximate length of your layers - especially in the crown area?? Love it!@@alysonlupo
I second wavy short hair
The best thing you recommended was the Mop Top curling custard! My hair was 2A wavy with CAPITAL F - FRIZZ! after seeing your review of curling custard i ordered Mop Top products, my hair has been soooo gorgeous with defined waves - LOVE LOVE LOVE IT - Thank you so much for recommending such good product!
That's WONDERFUL! I'm so glad to hear that!
I'm excited because I just got this from Amazon!!
you are so funny and adorable! WONDERFUL channel- SO incredibly helpful for us wavies 😊 sometimes we get forgotten in the curly girl world
Thank you! And I agree, we're definitely underserved. No worries, we'll change that! Happy you're here!
Finally a video that addresses low density and fine hair! I started the curly method watching videos of girls with c3 curls and very coarse hair. Of course those products didn’t work on my hair. Thank you so much!! 💕
Glad you're here!!!
Hi, Joan! Thanks for your kind and genuine note. I only put up the top half at night - video coming soon. Have you tried Bounce Curl?
Or MopTop?
Hi! I know the worry of meds messing with your actual life. There is more to life than just your medical life!!! That can be really hard to remember at times. Finding product can be expensive but exilar
Wow, sorry, I just ended there! .....exhilarating! Watching a few videos to hear different explanations helps! Good luck
You get all these products thrown at you and it's a lot of info to deal with...you explaining it is making this a lot easier than reading 10k essays online about all of it 🙌
Over 20 years of drying my hair straight. Thanks for giving me the info I need to let my wavy girl out again. Love, love, love your videos!
Your back to school look really suits you ... terrific cut! And hair looks happy and healthy in spite of the pool.
(if you recommend products for europeans, like me, I found the website Le Curlshop lecurlshop.com/fr/ that seem to have a lot of CG friendly products for at least French people and maybe the shipping would be more affordable than Amazon for some of those products.)
Thank you very much again and I can't wait for more of your videos !
Thank you SO much for sharing that link! Really delighted to have you here! ❤️
Hurry! A French curly friend too!
Oh, the learning curve of being in a new climate with different water....you'll get there! Canada is SO beautiful. I envy you!
Thank you so much!! Was wondering if you could do a budget friendly video on like shampoos and conditioners and products you recommend.. If you have already I apologize, I just subscribed yesterday and haven't gone thru all the videos... I love your personality!! Thanks for great content 💞
No worries! I do have one: ua-cam.com/video/h0Ah_3fVRFA/v-deo.html.
So glad you're back!!!! I hope you had a wonderful summer :) you always make my day and I can't wait for all the videos you've planned. You're my curl queen.
You've brought such a smile to my face! Thank you for that!!!
I ADORE your short hair!! So glad you're back and can't wait for more videos! :)
Thank you!
I'm really excited to see some upcoming videos about how your hair routine changes having short hair! I'm new to the CG method and have short hair!
It's SO much easier, but definitely had to tweak it a bit. I'll be filming that video next week, so stay tuned!!
@@alysonlupo absolutely I love your channel!
Can't wait to see that video!
HAHAHAH, you're too funny! I like it shorter, too. And thank you so much!
Your videos never disappoint! Informative & entertaining.
Thank you SO much!
Yay! New video! I recently realized how much my hair needs protein. I’ve tried avoiding it because of worry about overloading it but my hair was getting too mushy. This video helped explain why! Thanks!
This video is sooo helpful. There’s so much good information in it. Thank you for clearing things up. Glad to have you back!
Wow.
Maureen, you're so sweet!! Thank you so much!
Thank you! This is super helpful! I needed help finding products for my hair. I know my hair porosity and texture but I didn't know which products were right for me. I dont have a lot of money and at the beginning of my cg journey so I'm testing out things that work well for me. Thank you again.
I’m so glad you’re back! Your hair looks awesome.
I love the short hair! GREAT VIDEO AND CAN'T WAIT FOR THE INGREDIENT VIDEO!!
I’m so happy you’re back! Your hair looks amazing, and I can’t wait for all of your content to come!
Thank you!!!! :)
So happy to see you back! Hope you had a great summer!
thanks for much for taking the time to publish this! Hugs from DR.
Love this!!!! This low density, fine haired (undetermined porosity), wavy girl is excited to have a short list of new products to try!!!!
I’m so excited that you’re back, I’ve been looking for you all summer! Love your hair!
Awwww that makes me feel so good! Thank you! Missed y'all!!
Thank you!! 😊♥️
Also, I love the haircut! It’s so cute and looks great on you! :)
Oh, wow, that makes it ALL worth it! Congrats!!!! And thank you for the compliment. :)
Thank you for coming back! I subscribed this summer and have watched all of your videos. Honestly you’re my favorite curly UA-camr, so funny and knowledgeable. Thank you again for this amazing video! Oh, and your new hairstyle looks great!
Wow, I'm beyond flattered. Thank you so so so so much!!!
So glad you are back!! I've missed you, and I'm so excited for all the videos you have planned for us!!
I can't wait, either! Happy to be back!
On week two of CG and this video has helped me more than any other video by anyone I have found! Thank you so much!
Your new cut looks great! So excited for all your new tips for this length.
LOVE your hair!! ❤️ So happy you’re back, your videos I just discovered recently and that have made such a difference with my hair routines!
I'm so glad to hear that!
Your hair looks absolutely amazing! So healthy and shiny and bouncy looking!
Bless you, Carolyn. Sending prayers your way. I hope you enjoy your new curls. :)
I’m new to the method, about two months in and starting to figure out what my hair likes. I’m glad to see your new hair as I the same length and am lookingforward to your short hair styling vids. I know 💤 in my hair means I have to just let the back go and restyle in the am.
Thank you for breaking these things down. I'm 6 mos into my curly hair journey and learned a lot from this video. Keep em coming!
Ah, I'm so glad!!
I'm so glad you are back. Loved the video. I have high porosity, low density, fine hair. I'm a product junkie, but now I know what I should be using versus just buying what I think my hair would like. 😁
YASSS!!! That's the goal! I'm super happy to hear that.
I've been loving your channel-all your videos are so helpful but especially this one! Thank you!
Wow! I learned so much! I’ve taken a bunch of notes. I’m still a little confused I had to stop the video so many times to write down the names of all the products. But I really appreciate the detail and depth of information! Thank you!
This video could have easily been an hour long. It was so hard to keep it short!
Thank u for ur help!!! U r the reason why I started the curly girl method!!!! U help me do much with all ur videos and information!!!! Love u girl 😘😘😘😘😘
Thanks, Amy!!!!
DO EEEEET!
Your hair is beautiful!!!
This is such an overwhelming list of products, i don't know where to began !!
I can’t get over how great your haircut is!!
Gosh, thanks!!!
Alyson, I love your new haircut, especially the back looks A+! Thank you for all the research, it it greatly appreciated. Welcome back! ❤️
Thank you, Sonja!
Thanks hon. I'll try.
I think Jessicurl ships to Europe.

Welcome back, we missed you 😊 your short looks great ❤️
Missed you, too! Thank you!
Awesome, so glad you're back. You are the best!!! I've missed you & FitKat. Love your hair. Can't wait for all that you have planned so excited. Just don't stay gone so long . 👏💟
I know, I keep telling her to film some more videos!!! She's SUCH a wealth of knowledge. Thanks so much! Looking forward to sharing more soon!
real life+curly girl I love you both as a team too, you two are my favorite.
Love the hair!! Glad to see you back!
This was so stinking helpful!!! I'm so brand new to all of this and I was beginning to feel lost, but I'm so happy this video was uploaded! My saving grace! Thank you!!!
Awesome!!!!
Yay for new content! Super informative as always.... You're my favorite on YT for sure. I've learned so much... So thank you! And you are rockin' that shorter do! Love!
Thank you love!!!!
This was great!!! For new videos I would love seasonal “what to use on your hair winter video” 💗. Each season would be great!
Yet another amazing video! I watch/trust no one else! Love the haircut. I have a similar one and can't wait to see how you are styling and protecting it.
Wow, really?? YOU are too kind, my friend. Thank you, I'm positively honored. Yes, short hair video coming soon!
Glad to see you back!
I've missed you!!! You look fabulous, welcome back!
Thank you for this great info, so helpful!
YES! That's fantastic!
Thanks so much for all your videos. I'm learning a lot from you. I'm in week 2 of going curly only (2c/3a, used to blow dry straight a lot) and am in the trial and error phase. Great to have your guidance!
Your back. Yeah you were missed~ so to see you. And what a great come back video. Thanks.
Well thank you SO much! I'm honored to hear you think so!
Oh and love your new haircut!!! You are rocking it❤️
Hi Alyson...just started following you. You are amazing. Thank you for all your research.....,sharing. I have just recently jumped back into the CGM......never really knew that it was a method just learned from doing but watching and following your advice has saved me a ton of money and time. Thank you!
I'm SO glad!!!!
Yes please do a video on styling your short hair! Just chopped mine off yesterday and need help!
I'm recording it this week! Will be out soon!!
I learned SO MUCH!!! I was even taking notes and screenshots of the products you were showing! Can’t wait to start my “hair experiment.” Great job on this video!
Thanks!!! Glad it helped you!
This video is incredibly helpful. I think I have watched it at least 3 times now. Thank you for making this video. 🙏🏼
Awwww makes my day!
Your hair is totally adorable! Love it at this length.
Jo, I'm always delighted to hear from you. Thank you for making my heart feel so proud this evening. :) Big hugs to YOU!
Thank you! Big, big hug to you!
Love the haircut! Thanks for all the “juicy “ info!
Welcome back ☺Love your hair!!! I have fun with my short hair too☺☺☺Looking forward to your videos.
This video was so helpful! It kind of tied it all together for me
Absolutely love your hair this length ♥️ can’t wait to see more new videos !!
They're coming!
This was a very helpful video! I’ll keep an eye out for the video on how to read ingredients!
VERY new to CGM, your videos and posts have been incredibly helpfu - thank you so much!
@@alysonlupo wow thanks! I'll make sure to take a look!
just discovered your account today as well as CG method. went straight to amazon after watching several of your videos! i'm looking forward to trying this technique out.
It could either crave product because it's high porosity, or because you have high density/thick hair. But trust your gut!
