These videos are old but your teachings are excellent as always. I hope you are still quilting away, you are a wonderful teacher! Thank you for your time.
This was a wonderful tutorial! I sewed along with you and made one! Not sure why all pillowcases in the US don't have that nice flap to keep the pillow in. Genius!
Wonderful tutorial! Just saved my bacon with the nephews present! This was a lovely clear and easy to follow tutorial. I made one in little over a half hour and only had to re-watch once or twice. Thank you so much!
Just finished making a pillow case following your video. It's my first ever sewing project on my brand new machine. I am very impressed. Thank you so much, SusanClaire, for your wonderful video (and all the others too) and the crystal clear instructions. Only wish now I had bought more than 1 metre of fabric at the store last week because I want to make lots of pillow cases this weekend ! :) Cheers.
Absolutely the best pillow case tutorial I've ever watched. Clear instructions, simply made for a beginner to understand. Thank you so much!! Now I can do it myself. 😀😀😀😀
I don't do a lot of sewing. I am new to sewing and you made this an easy thing for me to do. Thank you for showing me how to make a pillow case. the first came out great now I think I will make everyone in my family one.
I love the inside pocket for the pillow. Perfect for a child. I will be making a bed skirt for a toddler bed and I'll get extra for a pillowcase. I love your tutorials.
You are amazing. I love your videos. You're a born teacher. I can't believe how well you can sew with a camera aimed at your work. Yikes. Just amazing.
Just the pillowcase I was looking for. Had seen it once before a little different, the one I saw had french seams. I'm so glad I found this one. Thank you so much love this video
Perfect!! Will now be making pillowcases to go with grandies quilts!! And maybe even my other bed quilts!! No reason why I can't piece the pillowcase front to your measurements and put a complimentary back to it. I appreciate your easy to follow tutorials - Thanks Susan :)
I've never seen a regular pillowcase made this way, but I will definitely use this idea. I really like how it holds the pillow inside. Thank you for another great pattern and video.
Is it a US thing not to have the flap to hold the pillow inside? None of the US tutorials on YT have them. I've never seen a pillowcase in Australia that doesn't have them.
Thank you! I am going to throw away all my pillowcases once I sew new ones with the flaps! It is so exciting to finally, thanks to your tutorial, I can have good looking pillows. Store bought ones are like a tubes and there is always one side that is empty so I have to fold it under pillow...really annoying! Thanks again! Looking forward to see more of your videos!
Thank you for this video, will definitely be making some of these, great pattern! I really enjoy all your videos, you make everything easy to understand, you are a great instructor.
Hi and thank you very much for this great tutorial! I love your pillow case! The flap is great! Thanks for sharing with us. You explain really well! 😎🌸
What an awesome tutorial! I love this pillowcase; and it's so much fun to make! I think everybody I know will be getting a set for their bed! :) Thank you!!
GourmetQuilter I love your video tutorial. The only thing that would make it absolutely perfect is if you would show how to have it done in two different materials. Such as the main part of pillow and flap in one fabric with the top "cuff" in another fabric. I would love that!
A really nice pillowcase. Thank you. I've watched dozen or so American videos in the last couple of hours and none have included a flap to keep the pillow in. It would drive me nuts having the pillow slip out during the night.
Ronson Dalby It does drive you nuts! The only way to avoid that is to buy the queen/king size pillowcases and make the envelope fold yourself at the opening when putting on the case and when making the bed. No idea why American pillowcases aren't made with this flap...so sensible to have. Now that I've found this, I will never buy another pillowcase again..this is perfect!
THANK You so much for the tutorial! I watched four American pillowcase tutorials (do American pillowcases not have the inner flaps?) before someone recommended this video. Great tutorial. Thanks again :)
GREAT tutorial and thank you for not going to fast for us new sewers. Do have a couple questions, but I do not see where questions below have been answered. Is there a place to go and find the answers. Is this size for standard or queen pillows. What size or how to make a queen size and even king. And, being new, I seem to have a problem determining the directional patterns and make them go across. I prefer my pattern go across the pillow when looking at the pillow. Thank you again for a wonderful tutorial, and a pillow case that closes in the pillow.
Your fabric is always so nice and crisp. Never looks like it came off a bolt. Do you buy it off a bolt or do you get it from the manufacturer? Thanks. Always enjoy your tutorials.
thank you so much for sharing your video, and for explaining everything so nicely, you have amazing talent, new subscriber as of today, again I thank you p/s I will be making a pillow case like yours tonight......
Lovely! I like this idea very much! Would it require extra fabric if doing French seams? I can picture doing white pillowcases and adding Aida inserts for counted cross stitch or embroidery fabric. Oh, to be not a procrastinator. Love learning, even if I don't actually do the deed. Thank you!!
oi, sou brasileira, não entendo uma só palavra mas quero te dizer que amei esse modelo de fronha muito bom, vou tentar fazer.mesmo sem saber ametragem que você utiliza, obrigada por nos ajudar .bjs
These videos are old but your teachings are excellent as always. I hope you are still quilting away, you are a wonderful teacher! Thank you for your time.
All these years later and I’m still using this pattern to make pillowcases for my grandchildren! Thank you!
Your teaching method is wonderful. I can’t wait to try it. I’ve watched and watched others, but now I get it.
Excellent video. You are a great teacher. Thank you for not putting music along with the instructions.
You did an excellent demonstration on how to sew a pillowcase. I like the over casing on the inside of the pillowcase. Very nicely done.
Love pillowcases with the flap . Your instructions were clear and concise . Lovely easy gifts for grandkids this year . Thank you .
I love this lady. She's so cheerful and clear in her directions.
Exactly what I think. First time anyone has made it so clear and easy!
This was a wonderful tutorial! I sewed along with you and made one! Not sure why all pillowcases in the US don't have that nice flap to keep the pillow in. Genius!

Thanks for watching. It's always good not to lose your pillow!
I find it hilarious that Americans don't do flaps on their pillow cases. This is a great tutorial.
