Please do not listen to negative feedback. I learnt to sew and make quilts by watching a lot of the very popular American Ladies - most of those ladies DO NOT prewash their fabric and neither do I. Also I think French Seams are BRILLIANT as you have said, no raw edges inside the pillowcase. I agree totally with how you do things - you carry on the way you are, and don't worry about negativity, we all do things the way they work for us. LOVE YOUR VIDEOS, do keep them coming. x

You keep doing what you do…heck with the neg junk. I like what your doing and thank you. My 95 yr old mom n law has a bunch of premade quilt squares and I’m going to do this with her “ANTIQUE “ materials. Some of her fabric is from her mother gone 60+ yrs. Love the fabrics. Than YOU!

I’ve been making this pillowcase for YEARS! I use them for Christmas and gift wrapping for birthdays, Mother’s Day, graduation etc. I just take a piece of ribbon and tie the top like a bread bag. They’re a gift inside a gift! Everyone looks forward to their new pillowcases. Also… I NEVER pre-wash my fabrics. I’ve been quilting for 40+ years & have never had a problem. ❤

I love utilizing FQs! Refreshing idea! Thanks so much for sharing this! I love making quilts also and I have tons of left over FQs! I can also make with different simpler fabric for the back piece too that’s matching with FQs on the front! I think that way we can have two identical pillowcases if we wanted. And finally with the ones with a flap the norm in the rest of the world outside of America in burrito method! 😂 Yay! I’m making a few next in my favorite FQs!! 😊

I’ve been looking for tutorial on English pillow case style and so pleased that I eventually found your video. There are loads of videos out there on envelope pillow cases but they’re not what I wanted. Your teaching is really clear and to the point which is the style of tutorial I appreciate . Thank you for sharing your knowledge. 🙏x

I have been watching lots of instructions; these are the easiest to follow. I was a little anxious to see whether there was a flap to enclose the pillow, and there is. The most difficult part is working out the measurements but you answered that.

Fabulous - thank you so much for sharing and making it so easy to understand each and every step - I have tried the tube pillowcases before but this is brilliant because of using fat quarters - can't thank you enough xx 🙂🙂🙂🙂 xx

Brilliant! I love this type of pillow case, but couldn't work out how to do it with a flap. Why the Americans don't have a flap on their pillow cases is beyond me. But this is so easy. Thank you

Even though I am an American I like the flap inside my pillows. Finally figured out how to accomplish adding the inside flap and still use a burrito style method.

In America they call the one with a flap “hotel pillow cases” or some fancy names! 😂 I grew up in several countries and now I’m in Japan (I’m originally from here), I was so disappointed when I discovered most pillow cases they made were without a flap. Beautiful pillow cases but without flap and that’s my biggest pet peeve! 😅 I mean in Canada, Europe and here in Japan, we do always have some form of incasing of actual pillows themselves either via a flap or through the overlap in the middle on the back etc. Only time “exposed” 😂 pillow cases were from Sears (American department stores) when I was in Canada, also in Walmart etc., and I though it’s because it was cheap lol 😆 Haha! I’m so glad someone figured out how to make our “standard” pillowcases in burrito method. 😊

This is a great alternative to your other video to use with directional prints. I purchased a bunch of directional prints with your other video in mind only to realize they wouldn’t really work and I would need to make the non-flap design. Glad I saw this.

Thank you!! I am making pillowcases for nursing home residents. They must be able to withstand industrial washing machines, so I love that no seams are exposed! Using fat quarters makes it easy to coordinate, and easy for the resident to choose fabrics!

Tried my hand at this today. Ripped apart the 2nd piece because I thought I had done it wrong, only to put it back the way I had it.🤣🤣 also had to change measurements because not all fat quarters come in 18” x 22”. Eventually got it all worked out. Thanks for the tutorial.

An excellent teacher. She explained each stage clearly and at a good place. I always like a challenge and have just completed a black with dusty pink flange pillow case. The reason being I have bright red and brown hair and I do not want to ruin another pillowcase. I am smiling now as I feel a great sense of accomplishment..... so it is a big thank you from the heart. Ellen

Exactly what I was looking for :) Thank you for posting this :) I dont have any double sets of fat quarters, but the set coordinates well, so I'll do each side different except for the flange. That I'll use the same fabric :) I'm sure my hubby will enjoy it. And it'll be my first pillowcase, so a great precursor to all others coming up :D Again, many thanks!

Got his made, and it came out great! I messed up on the flange on the other side, BUT because the main body was the same fabric as the flange on the front, it is not noticeable

Such a cool pretty pillow case using fat quarter bundles! So you didn't ever say what were the final dimensions of that pillow case and what size pillow it would fit on? Standard-size pillow in America is 20 inch wide × 28 inch length.

Jan Hulse Hi there I like French seams and as this is about making pillow cases out of fat quarter bundles you only have so much to work with so took a bit of thinking 💭 out of the box 📦 the pattern works very well and washes very well and will last a very long time with no visible seams or raw seams inside the pillow 🌻
