Tbh for me, these vans felt like the best ones I've personally ever skated. I usually skate impact, and usually my vans shoes kinda hurt, but these felt quite sturdy for a vulcanized shoe, plus the build of the shank and the sharp edges of the soles. But then again, I got them a half a size smaller by accident and the old skool versions. I just wish I got a size 11 not a 10.5
I bought them today and holy crap I felt a huge difference!

Agreed even the canvas is much more durable than the original. I usually destroy the canvas on the first day with original vans and I’m holding up about a month now

@@christianflores Cool, that sounds interesting. I'm skating eS Symbols at the moment and have started using shoe goo on it. It seems less durable than the eS Accel OG on the toes. (And have been trying kickflips like crazy). Buuuut, that was kind of expected, as there's literally less material there to wear off.
Let’s see the Reebok workout and workout plus!!!! Classic shoe that lots of skate shoes have used for design. My friend has some of the dgk one form way back and they would have been soo nice to skate.

The skate era classics are my fav shoes of all time..& I've been skating since 86'. Yeah, I'm old. But I don't skate old.. Well, maybe a little bit. Anyways, I still love these damn shoes & I'd recommend them to anyone who likes skating in vans. They made them better in all the ways I always wanted them to.

@@christianflores Sure sorta, but there's some key differences. The heel support is better bc of the extra suede around the heel & the ankle cushioning.

I haven't fucked with the era, but I have been using the Rowan pro and I love them. I own 3 pairs now. And it was my first pair of Vans that I used to skate.
Yeah these rock. Probably my most worn sneaker of the year
you should review the Straye Logan, you reviewed one of there shoes a few years ago and i would be interested to see if they have improved.

Check out Footprint if you can. Not necessarily cheap depending on which type you get but I've used em the last few years and love em. They make it so you can skate vulcanized shoes and still be able to walk the next day ;) i think Christian's reviewed them before too, go through the early videos
Yeah Footprint is definitely what you should go for. They have a lot of insoles, I'd reommend you the Gamechangers. At first they feel weird but with time they mold to your feet, so they are extremely comfortable. I use them even for walking at this point. They are great for impact and you can also feel your board quite well. Just don't stack them like he did lol replace the stock ones.
Man you gotta get some SB Dunk Highs with suede they are my favorite skate shoes because dunks last long time and they stay stiff pretty long time and the high top version gives more confidence 😍

Christian skate the jdi af1 they lasted me 2 years of skating and They are Air Force ones so the bottom has air in it so the protection for landing is really good
I'm going to try these as a replacement for my sb janoskis. I have also tried skating in regular canvas vans slip-ons...well I completely destroyed those after one session (huge holes in the toe cap), these with the suede toe caps seem like they'd last more abuse while still being a light shoe with good board feel. I also recently got the etnies joslins, good and comfy shoe, but too bulky and most importantly too narrow for my wide feet.

I haven’t been skating these, but been skating the new skate Half Cabs for about a month. I’m with you in that they basically feel like the same shoe. I just think the suede seems more durable. And I like the straps on the tongue.

If you want a seriously sticky sole try out Last resort AB. They pretty much skate how Vans wish their shoes skated. It's great to see a new skater owned brand shaking up the shoe market too.

@@christianflores I don’t jump down anything crazy, but I’ll slip out and strike my heel when bailing awkward. I’ve just found more cushioning isn’t necessarily the best way to protect the fascia. I could dm you some videos on Instagram that might be a helpful place to start. I mean my feet get pretty beat up too but I’ve just found the slip ons to offer oddly good protection compared to lakais or the terrible strayes I was skating

dude i skate my vans sk8 highs since january and still going. honesty im thinking about only skating the sk8 highs from now on. ( The shoes still skate ok but the sole seperated from the sued on the kick flip area, im not iven good at kickflips my heel flips are way higher and cleaner)

I bought both the era pros and the authentic pros I’m my opinion the authentic don’t hold up as good for heelflips but if you main kick flips they hold up nicely now if you main heelflips like I do then you might like the era pros better

i think the reason why the heel flips are better it's because of the pads is double and added a hight so that's why it looks better for me i think
Hm. Maybe. I might have just been feeling my heel flips lately. Lol. The padding around your ankle. Is basically nothing. There is non. Lol. It’s just canvas.

It's definitely better imo. Yeah I hate the way the authentics feel around the ankle. That padding on the eras makes a huge difference

It would be sick to see a review on the Vans Crockett Pro High, they seem like a great alternative to the sk8-hi for people who can’t wear them because of the hotspot

Every pair of sk8-hi’s I’ve had has had a really bad hotspot just below the pinky toe because of the seam on that edge. I’ve never been able to wear them for more than a couple hours at a time because of it.

Can you wear these even if you are not skateboarding? I want a longer lasting vans and I don’t mind paying for more
