Same. Wide means something different to different people. The current Vans I own are literally wrecking my feet lol. My foot isn't even that wide and I'm a chick. I can't imagine how bad it is for dudes.

love skating in vans especially the old skool pros, comfy, no size up, a little tight, you get some blisters all cool because the flick is amazing and the grip sheesh. Got a new pair of vans again after four months (no hole just super sanded down) and laces intact. Board control is great, could use some more cushion but great overall, and ofc it's stylish. Note: I am not a great of a skater as seen on my channel so you can go through the shoe a lot faster than I do
The half cabs might be a little ugly, but with the right pair of jeans or cargo pants and the right logo tee? They just ooze rock and roll. It was a shoe from and for another era, and it fit that era rather perfectly.
Yeah definitely need baggy jeans or pants for them to look good. Skinny jeans are are big no no. 😆
They Low-key changed the little things about the old Pro shoes in the Skate Classics. So far the just difference in the rubber material is noticeable to me.

AVE Pro, Kyle Walker Pro 1 and 2, Berle Pro, Gilbert Crockett Pro 2, and any BMX shoe from Vans are all cupsoles (or Wafflecup which is a combination of vulcanized and cupsole). Everything else, Pro/Skate and classic, are vulcanized.

I love the looks of vans but sadly they never really last me skating wise
Vans are my skate shoe brand all the shoes fit the same you always know what your gonna get with the sizing and are very comfy my favorites are the Kyle walker pro 1 and the Gilbert Crockett 2 both have the waffle cup which is the best cup sole/vulc combo out there.

There actually is an entire system for global foot width. Feet are measured with a Brannock Device. Sometimes you’ll see “D” width with specific shoes, which is a pretty normal width.

Further, it’s an alphabetized system. An A width is the skinniest possible (outside of bespoke shoes), a D is normal aka not wide. Yet, we have 4D widths as extra, extra wide shoe. I own a pair of U.S. 10 4-D dad style Nike leather. Gifted as a joke.

Agreed on there should be a measure on shoe width. BTw i too have a wide foot but the slip-on pros run narrow. The AvE shoes work great for my wide sweaty foot. They breathe well

I’m skating the Rowans for a little over 2 weeks now and the upper is lasting a really long time but the bottom is wearing out pretty quick

18-20 years ago all I would skate are Rowley XL, absolutely amazing shoes. I tried getting back into Vans recently did not work out well. Slip on, too small they killed my feet. Kyle Walker 1 kinda ok but I did not like the break in period and when they were about to die, so I really enjoyed skating in those for a couple weeks. Half Cabs are the best to skate in my opinion but they get too loose on the ankle and are probably the shoes with worst perspiration I ever tried on, my feet were wet and shoes soggy after each sesh. There are many more models out there but I think I’m good, I stick to Lakai, Es and Adidas for the time being.
Vans needs to make a slip on with the sock liner from the Nike Koston Hyperfeel 3. That would be the perfect skate shoe.
I've been buying Vans at the outlet, on the cheaper price I think they are worth it, but full price, i'd be buying something else to be honest

Just so everyone knows, shoes do have a width measurement. The reason most shoes don't say how wide they are is that almost all men's shoes are D width (women's shoes are b width). Skate shoes don't typically come in multiple widths, but you might be able to find some New Balances or something if you really dig.

I feel like if you want a durable skate shoe you need to go cupsole, I just skated some lakai vulcs 2 sessions of 2 hrs a piece and I'm already breaking through a tiny hole on the Ollie side just right outside the suede

Try the matchbreak super if you want durability. It has a suede layer under a rubber layer that underlays the suede, which means 3 layers. I am having the busenitz 2 vulc and I still prefer the matchbreak.
@@Lammm2410 The matchbreaks are indestructable. Although I have a flat foot so the buesnitz are perfect shape for me.
@@ketchupOW You’re right. For the busenitz, I just don’t like the elasticated band, it’s too tight around the mid foot for me. I think the way they constructed the tongue on the matchbreak is brilliant. It doesn’t squeeze my feet.

Kyle Walker pro 1 best shoe ever! I had like 7 pairs. And actually it’s not a cupsole, it’s a hybrid cupsole/vulc!
I thought that the fist real skate shoe from vans was the Era. I used to love vans being the brand that got me into shoes. Had more than 15 pairs but lately they just rip from the sole at the back and I don’t get how a pro version can get messed up in such a short time from walking not even taking about skating. Can’t support something that won’t last. Have lots of vulc shoes and they don’t get trough sole as fast as vans.

In my country a Vans Old Skool (non-skate version) is the same as the Marana/Joslin x Michelin, but we know the difference in durability...

A lot of people pretty much have no clue how wide their feet really are compared to the average though. But yeah, I've got no problems fitting in Vans in terms of width for sure. And they tend to be fairly accurate in terms of shoe size. Vans are a bit love it + hate it for me. I do like the flick and boardfeel, I don't like the lack of protection all around (in terms of puffy shoes) and I don't like the lack of decent durability. They're also too expensive for the durability, to be honest. The only exception would be buying them at a steep discount. I got the Kyle Walker Pro 2s at -50% and can't say I mind that too much, even when they did get destroyed in three weeks. And I'm a beginner skater, I didn't thrash them through hard skating or anything. It's why for now I'm sticking with eS shoes. They have very good cupsole shoes with decent boardfeel (like eS Symbol, eS Accel Slim, eS Swift 1.5, eS Evant etc.). I do have wider feet, so eS tends to fit well. I'm currently skating the eS Symbol and am loving it. Probably would get a second pair right now, if it weren't so hard to find.
Had the Kyle Walker Pros, in pink and white. Sickest colors ever. 80 dollars and the soles came off in a month. So imo nah.

in my opinion vans are worth the money cause i have skated sk8-hi,s and old skool pros and the durability is pretty good if you get the pros and they are also super comfy. and they also look really nice when you skate them wich some skaters dont care about but i do because i look down at my feet alot when i skate and if my shoes are ugly af i will have no confidence. btw i do more technical skating instead of big stairs and bowls and there good for technical skating

I'm not sure what you're talking about but the Half Cab is about the only "wide" shoe they have. You want wide then buy DC, DVS, Globe etc... The Slip-on is definitely not wide.

@@Minhlamb I have not! I’m down to try a few more Vans but after the half cab bro I feel like that shoe just isn’t made for my foot. I much prefer adidas and even some Nike shoes. Perhaps next will be some New Balance. Love the way they look on a skater doing tricks
