Carole King came to my rescue when I was 10 years old. I had injured myself on a field trip at Wonderland Elementary. Our street was very steep and she saw me struggling going home. She stopped and offered me a ride home and I was so happy someone was helping me. That day, she was just a mom trying to help. A moment I will never forget.
neil sedaka is also like Carol talented .and should be getting all the love respect honours and awards that she has got . that fact that he hasn't is despicable and I hate it . just like her he is also a legend and should be treated as one . like she has been . from michael from Yorkshire and proud of it .
neil sedaka in concert is a joy . and I know that because I've seen him live in concert in Sheffield in 2006 . like Carol he's one of the greats and should be getting all the regonistion that she been given . that fact that he hasnt is extremely disrespectfull and despicable beyond words . From Michael from Yorkshire and proud of it .
neil sedaka like Carol is also a legend . but unlike her he gets shabby treatment from the entertainment world . she's got way more awards than he has . and that's despicable beyond words . From Michael from Yorkshire and proud of it .
I just got back last night from watching “Beautiful” at the Moonlight Amphitheater here in Vista. I had no idea she wrote a lot of the songs I knew growing up. What a LEGEND
I saw the play Beautiful at the Hippodrome in Baltimore. So it wasn't the original Broaday actors but that didn't detract from how awesome this play was. I will forever love Carole's music as it was the soundtrack of my childhood growing up in Passaic, NJ and listening to our hometown Shirelles sing Will You Love Me Tomorrow. Thank you Carole and Gerry Goffin for all the "Beautiful" you music you wrote together.
Incredibly grateful for Carole King, she's transformed and immensely touched our lives forever with her creative gift she adorned and filled every arena. Saw her and JT (James Taylor) perform at The Troubadour, a magical evening filled with joy, tears and laughter! I love you Ms. King for your personal messages embedded in your songs....🎵
god gave Neil sedaka the same great gift as he gave to carol . but unlike her what's he got for all his great work bascically by and large diddly squat . From Michael from Yorkshire and proud of it .
I was there that night and it was truly magical. Finally got to cross seeing Carole King off my bucket list (and less than 15ft away from me, no less)!
I watched this musical two days ago and it is really that good. The level of the actors is so high, and also an amazing group of talented singers.! Obviously they have got a standing ovational at the end.
neil sedaka deserves the honuor of a broadway and West end musical about him . just like Carol has been given to her . that he has not been given this honour smacks of great disrespect to him in my view . From Michael from Yorkshire and proud of it .
I appreciate that Carole King seems open, receptive, grounded, unpretentious, accessible. That means something. And I think it speaks to a triumph through life. I wish she would accept mail from the public. Due to COVID I don't think she is. Sorry if my name icon comes up 2x. Some sort of stupid computer glitch we don't know how to fix.
dear vindcator Neil sedaka like her is also a living legend . he's my favourite and I resent the fact that he hasnt got anywhere near the amount of awards love respect and honours that she has been given . it's not fair or right . neil has earned his dues he should get them . From Michael from Yorkshire and proud of it .
Some of the things she say about herself would seem almost comically vain coming from any of us mere mortals. But for her, living that enormous life with one of the greatest creative gifts given to any human being, that's the only sort of thing she can say. Thanks for Carole King!
The past came alive the songs meant so much to a lot of people when they came on. People remember where they were and what they were doing she's a time capsule such beautiful beautiful music 👍👍👍
what would warm my heart is for Neil sedaka to receive the same amount of awards love and respect and honours that she has ( quiet rightly so in my view as she is great ) recieved . it's not right that she gets just about everything when he just about gets diddly squat . From Michael from Yorkshire and proud of it .
neil sedakas soundtrack has also enriched many peoples life's mine included . pity therefore that unlike her his life asnt been enriched by dozens of awards and honours . From Michael from Yorkshire and proud of it .
I saw this in the West End , London and loved every minute of it. Until I saw this I hadn't realised just how much a part of my youth her songs were. recommend this musical to everyone, a must see show.
neil sedaka also should have a broadway and West end musical made about him . the fact that he hasnt is extremely disrespectfull and despicable beyond words . From Michael from Yorkshire and proud of it .
As a teacher I have played her children's album (that I first heard as a child) for my students called "Really Rosie" so many times; I think I play it more for me than them..LOL
It would be incredible if she came to see it at The Olney Theatre Center in Maryland. Natalie Weise does such an amazing performance. Her voice is remarkable ❤
She was an absolute musical icon. She and Jerry wrote some of the greatest contemporary songs prior to the Beatles era and she wrote and performed many following it. But her eternal classic is the Shirelles'. WILL YOU STILL LOVE ME TOMORROW.
neil sedaka has also has written some of the greatest songs ever . but where as she as been showered with awards honours love and respect for doing it he has been showered with bascically by and large diddly squat . and that's not right . From Michael from Yorkshire and proud of it .
Of all the popular musicians over the years, I think I sore this lady most of all. If I could only ever have coffee with one famous person, it would be Cartole King.
Carole was my inspiration to become a songwriter and a better musician (pianist). I listened to Tapestry so many times that I could play every song exactly like she did. I got lessons from one of the greatest songwriters of all time, just by listening to that album.
dear david . how do you feel about her fellow brill building singer songwriter Neil sedaka . hes done great work just like she has . but while she gets just about every award and honour going for it . he gets bascically by and large diddly squat . From Michael from Yorkshire and proud of it .
@@michaelspilman5220 I think that Neil is an incredibly talented composer, pianist and singer. He can do it all. But despite his brilliance, he didn't create "Tapestry." And "Tapestry" blew everyone else off the charts. If it wasn't for Elton John reviving Neil's career, he would have most likely faded into obscurity, which would have been tragic. Because of Elton's interest in Neil, we got "Laughter in the Rain" -- one of the best pop songs of all time. And all at once Neil was back on the charts. Captain and Tennille recorded "Love Will Keep Us Together" -- and after Richard Carpenter fired him from being the opening act for The Carpenters in Las Vegas, he and Karen made it up to him by recording "Breakin' Up is Hard to Do." And don't forget "Bad Blood" charted at #1. So, I think he was acknowledged, but no one on the planet can beat "Tapestry." But I did my part for Neil. Since I'm a pro pianist/singer, I performed "Laughter in the Rain" every possible chance I could. So, I would not say he gets diddly squat.

@@puldspulds5798 ?? I'm sorry; I don't understand. I never said I "define" her career "just on Tapestry." I bought all her albums, including "Writer." Her original version of "Up On the Roof" was a million times better than the single version by The Drifters. Although Laura Nyro's version takes it to a different planet. "Tapestry" is what connected me to Carole, but I followed her throughout her career, and I'm probably one of the few pianists around who can play "First Day in August" from the "Rhymes & Reasons" album, another album I overdosed on.

Was she well known at the time? She seems so genuine, loving and authentic.
What year was this?
This episode embodies the best in Sunday Morning.
'Will you still love me tomorrow' has to be my favourite song of all time.
My sweet husband took me to this show "Beautiful" for my 60th Birthday! Loved every minute of it!

OMG, I have loved Carole King; since I was a little girl! Going away to camp, and all we sang on the bus, was her songs! You're so far away....!💖🎹💖
My favorite Carole King song would be a song called Nightingale. What a beautiful song. I'm listening to it right now on my phone.
Beautiful, indeed! This woman is unstoppable, relentless, her loving kindness is magical, truly a #Natural #Woman!!
