      I just stumbled across this group but, having recently parsed out the harmonies and performed this piece w a group, I really appreciate that the bass voice is faithful to Don Felder’s part(mostly) as it’s an ascending vocal line and departs from the rest of the voices.
      Most any cover I see, if they include a fifth voice to begin with, just follow the rest of voices in a descending direction.

      Familial voices almost always blend the best. My brother and I have been singing together for more than 50 years and have had that same reaction. Furthermore, singing well in unison is very difficult. Listening is the key. Sammy and Tim are exceptional, to say the least. They are all really talented musicians.

      I've been debating whether I hear some amount of pitch correction in these videos because the notes always sound so perfect to me. Is there anything in particular you're listening to say this isn't tuned? Just curious, because I haven't been able to make my mind up. In the end it doesn't really matter much - any amount of post-processing is fine by me if the result sounds like this.

      @jstnxprsn 4 роки тому +10

      @@ryanhurt2813 Oh my friend, I suspect you are very young.
      Several years ago, people sang like this, and there was no pitch correction available. We used to have dub in a newly recorded vocal line, until it was perfect. And so, as an engineer, I am not totally against fixing an occasional slightly off note in a recording, just in the interest of saving all the great sounding notes already recorded.
      But understand that truly talented people usually get the parts perfect the first time, which becomes apparent when they perform live.
      Take away the tech and most of what's called talent today would quickly disappear into the dumpster of history.
      People like these are here to remind us of that. Have a great day and stay safe.

The vocals are top tier, even better than some (So called) more recognized names. They have stellar harmonies, as good as any I have heard and better than most. If you think what they are doing is easy, get about 4 or 5 people together and see if you can generate a sound like these people put out, then you can appreciate just how good these folks really are. When you are getting over a million views on about every song you do, you have arrived to the upper echelon of entertainment. When you have talent like they do, you don't remain a secret very long, they should be opening for major artists in some of the big venues because I truly believe people would receive Foxes & Fossils in a big way.

    This song deserves to be covered. Written and performed by Steve Young originally in about '72, shortly thereafter re-arranged with the famous harmony vocals by Ian (Iain) Matthews that version obviously was the inspiration for The Eagles who brought it into the popular culture. It's an awesome song and the layered acoustics with harmonies here do it total justice. Excellent!!!

      Yes, Steve wrote this. As I understand it, it was a little earlier than '72 while he was in Stone Country, but my memory might be off. They performed the song live but never released it. Glad to see Steve getting the credit for this.

      From a pro musician, what they are doing is sometimes called a double stack,when singing in the studio you stack the lead vocal, three ,sometimes 4 or 5 times to give it a very fat tone. The B 52' girls would double stack their parts all the time, and you are right,they sound brilliant. I always wanted to sing with Tim and the rest of this group
      Thanks for the great rendition!

    I am astonished that there is even one dislike. This, in the recent era, is the very best of Foxes and Fossils. All the girls' solos on other songs are great, but this piece shows their ability to harmonize to the ultimate---sound from the angels of heaven. It also gives wonderful little glimpses of talented instrumentalists who contribute so much to this group. Finally, that little duet bit with father and daughter combined their voices into one great sound. The only songs that might be better are from a long ago era, "Suite Judy Blue Eyes" and "Helplessly Hoping." Phenomenal covers.
