Right? I've been listening to this for about 2 years and it's incredulous to me that a live, patio performance can be so artistically perfect. Not a breath or note that isn't fully accurate. As a life-long musician, I find this level of performance almost supernatural.
Wenn ein Song mit solch einer klaren musikalischen / stimmlichen Darbietung einem die Tränen in die Augen führt, dann sagt genau dieser Song alles aus! WUNDERBAR!!!!
@@achiappanza I agree. The original poster asked why they aren't treated like super stars. Part of the reason is that they don't do original material. And often times people who create brilliant original material have a hard time even making a decent living. Gillian Welch and Townes Van Zandt would be 2 examples.
When my son was young he had to do an English assignment showing samples of alliteration and Helplessly Hoping was one he used. I used to play it all the time. I love this song. Thank you.
Can’t believe the harmony. Kudos to both Maggie and Sammy. They blend their voices so well. Tim is very strong, as well. A special kudo to Sammy as her ability to harmonize in all their songs is outstanding!
The most abhorent experience of live music performance is audience indifference, especially when the band knocks the ball out of the park. These beautiful people have long demonstrated that F&F has a relentless commitment to exceeding original performances in their covers (which they do in the first place to incite audience interest in their music and talent). Their miraculous cover of Suite Judy Blues Eyes, which stands in my mind as a masterpiece, is a monument to a helluva lot of practice and sacrifice that is hidden from the audience and stage. Having played, I know that drill. My fear is that cynicism and indiffernece in our smartphone totality today will wither beautiful flowers like Foxes and Friends from ever blooming. Let's hope not. Our souls will suffer for it.
Tom, I too find it painful when an audience is indifferent to the talent of folk such as this. As a singer/musician myself I am both humbled and inspired by the talent of F & F. I am grateful they have cast their pearls where perhaps I may cherish a few.
you guys and young ladies...have some serious talent. I hope you never stop keeping some of the good music from my younger years alive. What a joy to hear someone take on CSNY and out do them at their own game. Outstanding performance in all respects.
I have been performing live for the past 35 years, all over the U.S. and Canada (where I'm from originally). I can honestly say that I have never heard anything as beautiful and incredible as your group. I just discovered you a few days ago, after doing some music surfing on UA-cam and I'm completely addicted to listening to every one of your songs. I love your story, I love your versions of the cover songs that you do so perfectly and I plan to turn a lot of people onto Foxes and Fossils! You may not ever even see this, but I felt I needed to express my admiration and appreciation for the work each of you puts into your group and I hope to get to hear your beautiful harmonies for years to come! Thanks for being you!

Okay. There's covers and there's covers. This group goes so beyond "cover" as to redefine the song and its delivery. I can't put any more than one thumbs up in the rating, but if I could there'd be a million of them.
I have always been a Crosby Stills Nash fan. Great to see this band get some props...One of the few bands that was pulled together to make a kick ass group.
I totally agree. This version is hands down the best anywhere. And that includes any version sung by CSN themselves. It's just exquisite. It always makes me cringe a bit that Tim has to say "that really wasn't half bad" due to the lack of applause from the audience.
I so agree! I listen to so many youtube postings/bands and the F&F's covers are over the top great. Starting with raw talent of the band and the ROCK SOLID and BEAUTIFUL VOCALS. I can't believe they haven't 'launched'. Strange I just came across them in 2019 and they have been playing since... 2010 it appears. Sure hope you girls are still singing. I haven't come across a posted song yet that wasn't amazing.
My band would have never stopped playing if the technology of the in ear monitors were available. This is a great band and I enjoy the rounded version of songs they put on YT
This might be my 50th time watching and listening to this, and it never fails to give me the chills... especially the Angelic harmonizing on the chorus. ❤️
I’ve watched this video over and over again. It gets better every time I watch it. I prefer this cover over the original, no offense to CSNY. It looked to be one of those magical nights. I could tell it was a warm night. You all performed flawlessly! I love the expressions on your faces when you sing. You all sing from the heart. You’re all beautiful !!!
Mr Purcell: Life has so many twists and turns beyond our control. While I like others thank you for your attention to unequaled excellent execution, hard work, and skills of all those that are part of your musical team, I hope that each and every one of you realize that whatever Life brings you all, you have created many moments of beauty and enjoyment to literally thousands of people. Very few accomplish something on this scale in Life and contributions to the many folks who have been blessed to listen to your performances.
I have always forgotten to compliment Tim on all this. Love his grin at the end because he knows how good that came out. I assume he is the leader and he does not jump out as hey look at me, rather he assembles everyone together and makes a masterpiece. Then sits back and enjoys everyone shining. Music, thank you CS&N. But how it all got performed here is all on Tim with his expert guiding of the group. Of course he has musicians behind him who are world class. It's all music for the love of it. Then to technically put all that together and mix it so there is no way to think it was done outside in a parking lot. Pure perfection by all.
Never get enough of this one; it must always be played more than once. Just a fun thing to point out, as a bass vocalist, I noticed and loved Sammie going bass (perhaps an octave up) at 1:37, and a bit near the end as well. You go, girl!
Every cover they do is AT LEAST as good as the original; a bunch of them are better than the originals, this one included. They just sound so incredible together. Thanks, F&F, I can't tell you how much I enjoy listening to you.
Proof positive that, when putting together a work of art and your raw materials are pure gold and priceless gemstones, "less is more"! There is no need for adding extra instrumentation, layering or vocal callisthenics ..... just let the natural brilliance shine through!!
Oh wow! Oh wow! This inter generational group is at the very core of what humanity can be. In these Covid lockout in Spain you’ve made me the happiest with this song!

Wenn ein Song mit solch einer klaren musikalischen / stimmlichen Darbietung einem die Tränen in die Augen führt, dann sagt genau dieser Song alles aus! WUNDERBAR!!!!
When a song brings tears to your eyes with such a clear musical/vocal delivery, then this very song says it all! MARVELOUS!!!!
I stumbled across F&F about six months ago. What a beautiful job of this song. CSN&Y would be proud.
OMG! The best vocals and guitar I have ever heard on this song. Including the original.
You got that right!
I just can't believe how incredibly talented these people are and why are they not absolute super stars
They should be Superstar's! So Very Talented!
They are an excellent cover band, but do they have original material equal to the music they cover?
@@jweyek Right... what's that line from Treme that Steve Earle delivers? "The world is full of players. It's the writers that are the rare find."
@@achiappanza I agree. The original poster asked why they aren't treated like super stars. Part of the reason is that they don't do original material. And often times people who create brilliant original material have a hard time even making a decent living. Gillian Welch and Townes Van Zandt would be 2 examples.
You can tell Tim knows how great that was. Amazing!
A guitar and three voices in perfect harmony. None better anywhere.
Harmonies are sublime but kudos to the guitar playing. Perfect.
Lead guitarist is Toby Ruckert and he's consistently superb. Check 'em all out: foxesandfossils.com/
Sammy is a rock.
Our souls will suffer for it.
tom wray Awesomely stated and I agree!
I know. Bizarre, right? Sheesh, this is beautiful
Tom, I too find it painful when an audience is indifferent to the talent of folk such as this. As a singer/musician myself I am both humbled and inspired by the talent of F & F. I am grateful they have cast their pearls where perhaps I may cherish a few.
Well, whatever the audiences may have lacked, my friends, comments on UA-cam have made up for in spades. Beautiful and thoughtful comment, Mr. Wray!
Well spoken.
2nd comment, this is just pure magic. Nobody nails the harmonies on this song like they do. It was so good, even Scott is clapping at the end!
you guys and young ladies...have some serious talent.
The Band members do read comments and tell us they do intend to continue for years to come.

Well said !
I’m waiting for the day when I’ll stop loving this version from y’all…I’ll let you know.
Love this version!! RIP David, you are loved.
Loved this group of amazingly talented folks ever since I first heard them
Smplicemente mravigliosi. Un coro che incanta C.S.N.J.in una versione moderna ritmo impeccabile voci femminili impalpabili m .❤eraviggliosi
Really well done, the harmony was super.
The timing, the music, the harmonies all to perfection. The best. I’m blown away every time I listen to Foxes and Fossils.
I luv this song,,and I swear I don't think anybody has ever sang it better!!!!
Born in 1965 here. You have done this song so well !
Amen...1968 here...Youre at the top of Gen-X... I'm glad I had older siblings/relatives who exposed me to this music growing up.
I believe they stayed true to the song and knocked it out of the park(ing lot)!!!
@The Edge Rules I have never heard a better cover band. Beautiful.I'm speechless.
I think I listent to this one every day
Great performance.I think every member realised they nailed that performance of quiet a difficult song to get right...congrats people
My band would have never stopped playing if the technology of the in ear monitors were available. This is a great band and I enjoy the rounded version of songs they put on YT
Thank you, UA-cam! You put this wonderful group on my list. It will never leave it!!
Click on the round pic above for their complete video list if you haven't already.
Lyn Wessel Thank you, Lyn!
This might be my 50th time watching and listening to this, and it never fails to give me the chills... especially the Angelic harmonizing on the chorus. ❤️
I’m stuck in a Foxes and Fossils loop. I hope people realize how good this is.
I sure do. I was a musician, singer/songwriter, composer and I'm seriously impressed!
Beautiful harmonies and guitar was spot on !
I now see the common denominator....they really shine every time they play CSN songs...wonderful to listen to ! Thanks all !
They are so good ! Massively hard vocal tune to pull off live or studio
Everything they do is just perfection.
Very Well said... Very profound.
@@tomsimpson-cc4075 Thanks very much ... meant every undeniable word!
Thank you Jim for capturing what all of us think about Tim and the excellent group
@@rapidcabin Pert dang good, ain't they? Rare that I miss a day that I don't pull them up for a listen ...
Thankyou for your words...perfectly put
Toby on guitar....beyond superb.
Tim is the genius behind all this. And his talent is managing to surround himself himself with people who are even better than he is. :)
@@curtpowell3795 Not that being a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist means Tim is conceivably shabby :D
Edward Hart 😀👍🏼
In Tim's bio it identified him as a High School quarterback. That must have been the beginning of grooming his leadership instincts.
Yup. Dad knows alright! 😃
I have literally watched this clip over 500 times. Absolutely flawless
So true, me too, Ive fallen in love with them, Cant let go and Dont worry baby are brilliant too
The beauty in those harmonies actually made me tear up....really something special..
Proof positive that, when putting together a work of art and your raw materials are pure gold and priceless gemstones, "less is more"! There is no need for adding extra instrumentation, layering or vocal callisthenics ..... just let the natural brilliance shine through!!
Like others I am constantly drawn back to the perfection of this performance. Thank you F&F for all your wonderful postings on UA-cam
This is the song that I stumbled on 3 years ago and I became helplessly hooked on F&F ever since
OMG, they do such a good job on that song!
I am glad I found them. Its hard to stop
Tim I am amazed with every song. Your talent is so beautiful ! Your voice is beautiful.
Ridiculously beautiful. Tremendous perfection
Oh wow! Oh wow! This inter generational group is at the very core of what humanity can be. In these Covid lockout in Spain you’ve made me the happiest with this song!
