It was a good day got unloaded and made our way to Florida to pick up our load going to Las Vegas Follow me on Facebook / flatbeddan Twitter / supertruckerdan Instagram / supertruckerdan
Another good video Dan.Bit of a close one at the end but all good.Have a safe trip to Vegas.looking forward to the next one.love the scenery.New Zealand out @ 11-45 Friday night.☺☺☺🐕👍👍
i've been counting the loads that a side kit would of worked on. back when i ran the south-they didn't like a side kit-made ya pull it down for everything i loaded it seemed. back then-oh-that grating wouldn't of had to been tarped. when i was gonna buy a new spread-i wanted the side kit package they was offering-but as u said-then i needed another extra box-just to have the other tarps-its just a vicious circle. ha!
Dan another great video. Glad that moron who cut you off didn't cause an accident. Been watching all your vids - having great time seeing the country with you and seeing how you handle your own repairs. Good stuff. Thank you sir.
That guy hauling the Humvees must have been behind schedule to pill a stunt like that. Maybe his boss watches your videos. At least you didn't have to do anything drastic to avoid him. Thanks for the video.
You've been home bound since you left Tifton Dan. Your videos are great for helping me with American Geography. I've driven the Atlanta, Memphis, Checotah OK, part a few times but the rest of America is a mystery to me. Distance is the hardest to comprehend, the whole of the UK is just 980 miles north to south and we're never more than 70 miles from the coast. I wish you good luck with the loading and a safe journey home. Remember it's just like any other journey until you pull through your home gates. Take care and look out for crazy truckers: in all types of vehicles.
Gotta love those 3 pc tarps. My last 5 years before retiring I pulled a new Rolltite 48 ft all aluminum Mac trailer my company assigned to me after major surgery. Ok, I'm old school as far as log books go, but sometime could you kind of go over how you log with the electronic log system. I retired 9 years ago and just curious as to how that works and what you do if the DOT ever wants to check your log book.
At one point in this video you actually say "Let me go in and see if they still want this stuff". It made me think; Does anyone ever say 'No'? I mean, what happens if they refuse it??
+Lance Michel I always check to make sure I'm at t he right place and that they will aceppet the shipment before I untarp or loosen any Securement. It's just Habit
Right, I can understand that. *But*, suppose you get there and a sign on the loading dock says "nothing accepted - out of business". Then what happens?? A bit far-fetched maybe. But, hard to believe something like that never happens..
Another good video Dan.. I was waiting for someone to pull a dumbass move from your opening line.... but I'm from New York.... that wasn't even close!!! I get worse moves than that pulled on me every day... and I'm usually driving 40 tons of sand or gravel. Stay safe, enjoy your home time.
Nice to see you made all of your stops. Great work that the mechanics did in getting you back on the road. Close call by the other driver of that flatbed truck driver. Probably couldn't wait behind you and thought that he could overtake you before he realized his exit was coming up. "CRAZY". Be safe out there Dan.....
SuperTruckerDan it's always a pleasure watching your videos and learning more about the industry. Have a wonderful vacation you and Teresa. Safe and happy travels. ✈✈✈✈✈
Dan,.Any chance of doing a vid on tips/tricks on using a ELD? with it coming to most everyone I'm sure it would be of interest to guys still on paper, like myself, lol!
Is always good to see Cali dog. If you want her to stop pulling and walk beside you, put a choker chain collar on her, then when she goes out in front pull back on the leash lightly and say heel, and keep doing that until she walks right beside you. At first she'll turn her head to make sure she's beside you, but later she'll stay in place effortless. If you just want to leave Cali dog do what she wants, that's ok too, I'm just telling you how I was taught and how I trained my dogs. Most dogs want to please their owners if they know what you want. I have found out thru the years animals are not defiant on purpose. I always enjoy Cali dog and your videos. Take care & drive safe, & I won't do what the black semi did hauling the army trucks. I'm a very careful driver. I think one rule to safe driving is always leave plenty of time to get to your appointment so you don't have to drive like a nut and make mistakes.
Had lunch with my wife about 2 blocks from where you were stopped at the light at Timberlane Road just before I-10 and got off at exit 192 where the guy cut in front of you to head home (just off US 90) about 25 miles from the Flying J. I was looking for you the whole time. If I had known, I'd have come to Cottondale and bought your supper. About what time did you come through Tallahassee? One of these days it'll work out.
Know the rest area at Tifton well. Then 319 to Tally and 10 west. Been going up to that area of FL and GA since about 1964-65. Taken SR 12 over to Bristol is probably a little faster as one person commented. Have a safe trip. Love that area of FL. You do great video's
The driver that cut you off to get to his exit is something I am seeing more often, dont know if its distracted driving or just impatient people but its bad to not only to deal with cars but truckdrivers should know better
That Loves is the pits... Gets interesting when the Mega Bus comes in. I work for a company that has a office just around the corner from it. Was cool watching you make the 319 run as I know the route well.
Wondering why you didn't use the first tarp to keep the other from getting covered in dirt like you did with the second and your felt? Driver in the Yellow rig wanted to drag race off the light.
I go I-10 west out of Tallahasse to Florida state road 12, go south on 12 to Bristol Fl. Turn right on stat road 20 to 231 turn left to Panama City. To me it's a little guicker
Hi Dan can't believe what I just saw on your last video while at the very end with the idiot turn right in front of you have you thought any more about pointing your camera on Google map to give me some idea on the distances you have to do and where you are in your country all good videos drive safe regards Richard
Dan - Two questions please. Watching your other vids you mention power divider lock when you're on mud. What is that? Also, how do you decide how the trailer is loaded? How do you determine weight balance? Do you tell whoever id actually loading the trailer what goes onboard in what order according to weight distribution, and/or strapping/tarping requirements? Thanks for watching..OOOps that's your line. Mine is great vids Thank you !
hello Dan. glad you made all your stops as planned. that a sweet sounding Pete even with mufflers. ever thought of buying a set of straight exhaust. happy trails
Hey Dan, great job again! Let me know when you get a boat like the one at that rest area, I'd like to go for a ride! Haha! Sounds crazy but I enjoy watching you work... you seem to be a real common sense guy, real methodical! You work more smart than hard... know what I mean? If we could ever have a cup of coffee, I could ask a 1000 questions about trucking! If you are are ever going down I 10/12 through Baton Rouge, wave at me!! Be safe!
+Brian Gardiner It happens so often I usually don't even get mad anymore. If I start to get Irritated I'll take a break for a little while Thanks for watching

wow that flat bed driver I would have been cussing, do you leave your camera run the whole time you drive, or do you shut it off after you been driving a while?
sorry for my ignorance but why are flat bed trailer axles so far apart when box trailers are closer together the scrub on your trailer tyres must be really bad ( from across the pond uk )
Some professional driver he is.
wow that's some serious kit at the start....
What a pile of money tied up in that boat!
You could see the steps in the hull. They let air in so you can fly the boat across the water.
+Torsee
It was an interesting boat

Hi Dan ! How many owner operator works in Mercer transportation ? In France, it's call "tractionnaire"
wow that flat bed driver I would have been cussing, do you leave your camera run the whole time you drive, or do you shut it off after you been driving a while?
sorry for my ignorance but why are flat bed trailer axles so far apart when box trailers are closer together the scrub on your trailer tyres must be really bad ( from across the pond uk )
What is the switch you turn on when you make every turn?
+Matt Moore
It Releases the air out of the rear trailer axle to help the trailer turn better
Thanks for watching
Well how about that... a four wheeler flatbed. So much could have gone wrong. Glad it didn't. Great video.
+chrisretusn
Agreed
Thanks for watching
whats the song called?
What size are your canvas tarps you use for padding need to order myself some
+Lee Hill
They are some kind of felt stuff. I buy it from Mercer. I recommend enough to to cover the length of the trailer
Thanks for watching
Yeah to bad mercer don't sell to the General public can't find that felt anywhere in the dimensions I want
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😄👌
+David Gil
Thanks for watching
I'm just curious, how much do your tarps weigh?
+syncronisity1
Around 75lbs each
Thanks for watching
Trucker Dan do you now the flatbed chick on youtube
I wonder what other tricks that guy has got up his sleeve, not real professional.
Now there's a steering wheel holder, Not A Truck Driver, a kid with bunch of tattoos...
