Wanted to retire to Van Horn, Tx. Collected a lot of corrugated metal and some 2x4"s to build my retirement palace. Wifey said I'd be living alone if that went down. Heck, I think I could have been the mayor by now!
Don't you just love the Speed Limit 80 through Texas? There is a toll road up from I10 to I35 north of Austin with the highest posted speed limit in the country at 85 mph.
Since the highest gear in the trans runs good at 55 mph I never understood why they gave us 100+ top speed and not put a higher gear to run around 70. Would be better for gas mileage and would be less wear on the engine. Must be the oil companies manipulation.
LOL I have seen so many of those West Texas mornings, I could smell that one! Spent three days in Phoenix the forth was my Aunt's birthday, took mom and two other sisters there just got home this afternoon.
Your driving a Semi on the road to home and neighbors are giving you a hard time about that, I'd run over them, LoL. I like your Jeep. I have a 97 Cherokee Sport (xj) HD and I absolutely love it. You must really have a lot of land, nothing like living rural lol.
That is a nice rest area. Slept there in my pick up many a time. Those 2 areas are pretty new still. They just built them 2 or 3 years ago. And BTW it's not Big Springs it's Big Spring. Notice there's no s at the end.
Glad you made it through the Level 2 OK. As a retired LEO (and a lifelong driver), I will guarantee you this.. they can ALWAYS fond something wrong with your truck or paperwork. Alot of the outcome depends on the driver's attitude. Of course if you're driving a piece of crap then nothing will help. You are a true professional driving an older truck that appears to be meticulously maintained. And I'm sure that your attitude towards the Officer helped with your outcome. I have been through several Level 1 and 2s and have always come away with a good result thanks to my boss keeping great care of his equipment. (08 Kw9000 WITH 620,000 MILES). Enjoy your time off
+frustratednomad Thank you I try to mix up the music. A little something for everybody. I use a music service called Epic Sound they have a huge selection of music Thanks for watching
4 contact points for stuff that rolls? That's usually what I do. 2 chains but 4 binders.Did not know there was a weight qualifier for that.Do you know what the limit is for only 2 tiedowns? Enjoy your vacation ! We usually try to go to the beach in San Diego. I like the shady spot with no sand. good vid!
Good vid Dan.Happy you made it home alright.Hope you & Teresa had a nice dinner.Marvelous scenery and those teepee's at the rest stop were a nice touch.Who said animals are dumb.Kelly sure knew where you were.Have a nice break and a good trip up to Las Vegas. stay safe.NZ out @4-20 Wednesday arvo.Laters.☺☺🚛🚛🚛💨💨💨
Enjoy your home time. You mentioned you do not get inspected often, does that mean once or twice per year? Lastly are the inspections suppose to be totally random?
Dan I enjoy watching your videos each and everyone of them my nephew use to live in Pensacola Florida he retired from the navy after 23 years of it he was on the HarryS Truman aircraft carrier
If that wagon would have weighed more than 10,000 lbs you would have had to have a 4 point tie down. Anything like that over 10,000 lbs requires a 4 point tie down.
Loved the video. 👍 Thanks for the bonus footage. Happy Fourth of July and Tnx for your time serving our country. My son retired (Command Sgt Major) after 32 years in the Wisconsin National Guard. Over a million miles in his logbook. Now teaching new drivers at a tech school. So proud of him. I always wanted to be an over the road truck driver, but also wanted to be home every night. 😁 So that didn't happem. 😉 Go safe!
Great video Dan! You definitely have some nice scenery from West Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona. Love that wiiiide open space! Question....are any of your tires on the truck H-rated? See you on your next video ✌

On your frig., when you turn it on again how long does it take to cool down to temperature?
