Yes, loved his style. Now a days, if you don't have stupid ink on your neck, use disgusting foul language, and wear your hair with an obnoxious color and style, it seems you're at the bottom of the list.

The cool part about this build is that after they sold it, they caught up with it many many years later. It was still on the road and everything still worked and looked great. That a testament to his build quality on this project.

Wow, this took me back when I watched this on TV. Either on TNN or whatever the channel was called by then. Watching him take the truck almost brought tears to my eyes. The amount of work put into the truck and the results is incredible. I loved watching this show growing up. I am still driving the 2001 Chevy Silverado I took off the lot in May 2001 to this day and a big part is because of Stacey. Makes me want to keep the truck forever.

Stacy gives a good motivational message at 2:25:05. We shouldn't get discouraged if our project is taking forever to come to fruition. We can't expect our project to be finished overnight, over the weekend or in a year. Things take time and money obviously. There's no rush. And we dont need to one up other ppl. Theres no shame in having a small block, using worn out interior or parts with different colors, etc. People will always judge. The project is yours! Make it yours. Own it! In the end, you and you only will get to enjoy your project and like Stacy said "Drive it like you stole it!"

I watched this video one Saturday morning, two years ago. I decided right then and there that I wanted to build one of these. I talked to my wife, and a few days later I found a rolling chassis on FB marketplace. Paid $400 for it. My six year old son and I stripped it, and rebuilt it. Then I bought a drivetrain, a donor truck with a cab (1967) and a title. We taught ourselves how to use a mig welder, and how to shoot two stage paint. The rest is history. Now my boy is well on his way to being mechanically minded, and we have the coolest truck to go get ice cream in. If you want it bad enough, you can do this yourself too.

That is a great project, being able to do it right with price cost not a problem. Good job, I'm very envious.
    I had a 72' C10 Shortbed I inherited from My Brother in 1982.
It had a 307 3sp column, both worn out and massive body damage when I got it. I rebuilt the trans, put in a heavy duty clutch with B&M floor shift kit and swapped a 350 30° over with a mild 260 cam & a Holley 4bbl Economaster and some cheap Blackjack Headers with Thrush Turbo duals ran short with 2.5" pipes.
It would do 3rd gear burnouts.
    I wish I would've kept it.

Watching this while I rebuild my 71 GMC 1500 stepside. SB 350, bored 30 over, 4 bolt mains, Chevy steel crank, Eagle rods, Speed Pro pistons, 10.5:1 CR, Brodix Track-1 heads, true roller valvetrain, Offy IR intake, twin 390 double pumpers, estimated 500+ HP on pump gas - no turbo, no nitrous, no blower. The same setup on the 489 CID big block in my 71 Chevelle convertible (with World heads and bigger carbs) beats Copperhead with an estimated 688 HP on pump gas - no turbo, no nitrous, no blower. Both vehicles run twin big block radiators, TCI TH400s, and TCI converters. The Chevelle is setup as a road racer, with p315-60R15's on 12" wide Weld Draglites at all 4 corners. The truck is a narrowed and tubbed retired 1/4 mile dragster that's now used as a parts chaser.

Dana rears aren't used as much as the ford 9 inch because the public isn't aware that they make a great option to swap. They are usually less expensive as well! Also, the Chevy 572 crate engines 650 horsepower is way UNDERRATED! A little massaging, a hotter cam, a thinner head gasket... bla, bla, a more appropriately sized carborater cfm (like 1100+) and it isn't hard to see 750hp+ If you want to go deeper and pump up the compression, carb and cam and use headers with 2 1/2" inner diameter and you are looking at 850+ horsepower, easy!! There is a mathematical algorythm that makes fitting the correct parts much easier. There is NO magic. It is all in the math!!!! BTW. I love watching your show. Everything is SO clean. I Love it. More El Caminos 67s!
