The 292 is a cool engine to go with. Outside of having so much more room under the hood, it can out torque V8's. It was designed as a replacement for the 261 and outperformed many 283s. The downside is it's a lower rpm motor and a bit of a gas guzzler. With a stroke of more than 4" though (as much as a big block V8), turbo will light this build up. Austin has a southern voice from Maine! That's different. After living in Maine, I didn't think that was possible. Awesome build, I've got a '77 and and '84. Gives me some good ideas!
I was doing this, keep it original equipment. A 250 straight six and Powerglide transmission. I would try to get a little more out of the 250 six, but no extreme measures. In fact, the 292 Six probably was the original equipment for several years. Drum brakes are okay but the shoes are only 2" so use the best. Color: Mountain Lake Blue with a glossy finish. A Ford would be fun to fool around with too.
What a great project. I love working on hotrods but I live in California, where the draconian laws make it as difficult as possible, or near impossible.

This is the truck that I have been looking to play with forever.
I love this build it was really unique and I think that's what I enjoyed oh and uh shout out to my Texas Homies 💪 😤
Love the show and truck ,very coool!!! You are so lucky in the USA to find classic cars all over the place . Here in OZ it is very hard and if you can find a classic it will cost you BIG$$$$ ! It's cheaper to fly to the USA and buy a classic and bring it back ! Love watching the show !!!thank you
OMG, such an anticlimax ending after watching this for over two hours. :(
Dude was pissed. Look to me like the guy missed his gear then slammed into too low of a gear.
LT said the flywheel bolts backed out and was rattling around so it wasn't a big deal. 2:19:17
Thank you for the full episode!
I love the sound of the Straight six!
My dad has a red 1965 c10 and it is vary fun to be in when he drives it.
Great truck build!
That said the in and out overdoing of the southern accents and dumb insults got old fast. Stick to the build and you will be fine.
On the flip side, the shtick make it endearingly cheezy for the very reason it is carried throughout so effortlessly.
Well bless her heart....
Austin has a southern voice from Maine! That's different. After living in Maine, I didn't think that was possible. Awesome build, I've got a '77 and and '84. Gives me some good ideas!
I was just gonna point that out
I made it to minute 4:36 and had to change channels!
Check out our channel no “Boognie Nights” Acting lol 797k subs though?! Click on our icon and watch real car guys on a REAL budget!
Faking Democrats
that part when their pretending to drive a semi finished truck and then you realize their on the freaking trailer!
Had my ass laughing! man.
this has been a great build and experience watching theses dudes put this project together.
Someone tell me when the adverts stop
My Grandpa had one of these with 3 on the tree! I will buy one someday!
1:29:12 that is a full-blown bruh moment right there
Absolutely beautiful build. Really like that 6 in-line.
Natural progression from ClassSix. My 2 favorite builds but I'd have put a 5spd in ClassSix.
Good ole three on the tree. Had one in High School that was my first pickup.
2:13:19 it’s sounds like a SUPRA 😘
I have a 1971 F100 and I feel like I can do this shit after watching this.
My hair grew three inches while watching this video. (just thought I'd share)
Upstairs or downstairs?
Only 3"? Might want to call your doctor.

Lmao!!
Looks like a 1964 unless the side emblems have been replaced. 1965 c/10 emblems are on the cowling up behind the hood. glad to see this running; grew up with these.
"It was slapped together for a quick sale" LOL Yeah....right. Like a truck in that condition would have any problem selling.
💯 correct
What happened to the narrator? Is the new voice the weird uncle of the previous Wolfman voice? Man, you guys nails everything except that narrator and sometimes the music is over the top. Thanks for making the dream come true!
I have this truck!
You have "this" truck, or one like it?
@@firefighteruppy9121 I see how this was misleading. I have one like it but it's 1966 and is painted like 57 corvette
I have the DB 150 blasting system for the hobbyist... does a good job and it is messy
I will NEVER understand why some people prefer the "patina" of rust compared to paint.
This is probably the most comprehensive how to I’ve seen. Thank you. How did you do the brake lines? Did you keep the banjo bolt?
