Full Build: 1971 Chevy C10 LT1 Swapped and Bagged

- Our Truck Tech C10 Fauxtina project is quite the beast. We're working on a '71 C-10, set to be absolutely jaw-dropping. We're souping it up with a Corvette power plant, definitely going to have hot rodders in awe. It's not just about the power though, it's also about the style and stance. We're lowering it down, putting bags on all four corners, aiming for a ground-hugging look. The process involves serious work like cutting into the frame for axle clearance and slapping some reinforcement plates in to keep our rig strong. And once we put the stock rear axle back into place, the transformation is something to admire. Our project is all about turning this classic good-looker into a bagged head-turner with muscle to boot. #c10 #chevy #truck
This show brings back wonderful memories
Oh how I miss mine, I had a 67, 68 and a 71. But I miss my 68 the most because it was my Grandpa's
I got my dad's 70. I will never get rid of it. Had it since 1997 and am restoring it now.
always screwing up the builds with crap "patina" paint. what a shame
Patina is an old English word for cheap and lazy.
Thoughts and prayers for that stock 12 bolt C-clip rear end
Gotta love the subtle patina on this one
These guys are amazing!!
Hasn't LT been off this show for a few years now?
Yes and he has his own UA-cam channel. You should check it out. Doing some cool stuff in his own shop
indeed you are right, these are older powernation episodes, he has a youtube channel and is currently working on a 4wd drag race truck with about 1500-1700 hp
Painted frame, new, shiny grille and bumpers and patina??!!
I knew something was fucked up under that bed liner as soon as i saw the truck pull into the shop lol
Love the show though
I never do repairs on a c10 floor
Just replace the complete floor
I can make the doors fit better and get that perfect sound when they close
C10 doors never fit and close well from the factory
In the end a new floor makes a perfect cab worth allot more money!!!
Coupled with new rockers and cab corners…bed line the bottom with matching color to the truck and smooth the fire wall set it up for vintage air
ID DALY DRIVE THE SHH 🤫 OUT THAT DAM THING LOVE IT!!! I USED TO HAVE A 69 GMC MY DAD HAD A 72 RED JUST LIKE THIS ONE BOTH HAD LONG BEDS THO...THIS TRUCK HERE WOULD BE SOOOO FUN TO RUN AROUND IN SUMMER TIME!!!
Look at all that hair LT has😂, and I love the project, but I'd is NO ulgy truck#8./1496FTW , that 535 is gonna be S-I-CK!¡!¡!¡!¡
I'm doing an LT4/10L90E in my 70 C10. Kinda wish you did LT4 instead of LT1. You had to do the low side fuel system anyways, so why stop in Chicago when you're going to new York?
2years and the Frame ist covered in Rost.
Should have put the letter sout in tired old school look
only thing I don't like is fake patina. should paint it satin black or just high gloss black
What’s the width on the wheels ?
Still never understood why they made the exhaust that way ...should have just dumped it ..but to each there own
Can that old frame handle the power of the new engine?
That grill ruins the whole truck for me personally.
Um i think the llt1vwas the last small block chevy
It’s funny to listen to the vvt jargon they are spitting about GM’s worst nightmare. The vvt and active fuel management has since became the worst thing they ever came up with.
Paint is horrible.Just paint the truck and leave the patina to nature.
20” wheels are horrible, as well.
18” max….
Y'all sure screwed up a nice pickup! You had an awesome paint job, screwed it up with some scratches, screwed up the suspension with some ballons! Gimme a break!
Spent a lot of time and money to make the paint look like shite.
Everyone's mispronouncing "Height" by saying: "Hīthe".😂
It's a Midwest thing. Lol
We also use the word "at" a lot at the end of our questions. Like, "Where's my 10mm at?" Instead of, "Where's my 10 mm?"
I'm not a big fan of fauxtina, but I don't hate a well done fauxtina job as much as I hate is when someone sprays gloss over real patina.

With the amount of effort used to do a fake patina paint job you could make something that actually looks nice. Instead of faking the rust bucket look.
What about satin clear?
Why would you put a DOD/AFM in a hot rod?
leave the paint ….. if it’s natural patina then that’s fine! Otherwise leave it alone. Faux patina is hideous!
I say leave the original engine and transmission . For the 400 ho you will gain from the LS it's definitely over rated
this video is making me want a c10 really bad now
With no seatbelt
Absolutely love everything about this build. Also good to see Kevin Tetz approve the build. BTW nice casting couch @1:32.17.
I had a 70s pick up back in 1991,. got it to make a play toy, but got divorced a few years later and had to get rid of it. Why do we always have to lose our trucks when we lose our woman
I'm not opne for patina paint jobs or the look .
I rather have a sharp paint job that makes the vehicle stand out .
But like anything its your choice of how you want your vehicle to look .
High quantity paint job as you call it
Well i think not because here in Pennsylvania it's a cheap paint job .
Should have deleted that afm crap on that engine
Doesnt look patina to me at all. Kinda let down on that one
Let’s ask GM how that afm is working out for them lmao
How much does the horsepower change on an automatic vs manual
WHAT???? I HATE the paintjob. SO not "eye catching".........I don't get it man. Just looks like a shitty old truck. NOPE.
The law that restricts Xfelons from possessing a firearm was created in 1968, in response to the event that accured shortly before in Chicago, where the Chicago State Supreme Court was completely surrounded by the then Black Panthers armed with constitutional protected firearms. There for, it was not only an unconstitutional ruling but also Racist ruling. The analogy proposed by the state that back in history criminals would never be charged with duch offense because they would be executed for other crimes. This is nothing more than speculation snd congiture but for a traverse challenge, Our forefathers that drafted the constitution were at the moment of sign the declaration of independence became criminals. Their crime, 'Treason against the Crown.' punishable by death. This means they were criminals while they wrote the second amendment. Where-by, any law the places any restrictions is in violation. Prriod.
Why not make false patina interior too?
Take a knife and a grinder to the seat make it look junk too.
To me it's sad to see how you ruin a rare pickup like that.
You know there is modern crap trucks that have all that garbage from factory like ls and led and every other undesirable part you ruined this truck with.
Airbags suck, and "patina" is hideous. That's why Copperhead is still the #1 67-72 build.
So, you destroy a perfect restoration with overspray and blotches. Give me strength !!!
Great job fellas! Loved watching your work and you two really know your stuff. Thank you for the video and bringing us along for the ride! Enjoy your “new” truck!
That Chevy need a proper paint job solid red for instance
Paint looks done no more than 3 years prior. The red looked good and I don't even like red.
Showed nothing on interior and where are the front wheel wells? Excellent build though.
Wow nothing like an unlimited build budget , way to tear up a perfectly good truck
There is no replacement for displacement! Should've went with a big block! A fuel injected 572 wouldve been perfect with a 6 speed manual. Direct injection just mean fouled valves down the road. AFM is crap!
Slammed truck... Hard pass! Can't do truck things. Just for hitting on high school girls...
Wow! Great job fellows! You two really know your stuff and it was a pleasure to watch you work. Thank you for the entertainment! Enjoy your “new” ride!
I could watch this on a loop! 🔥
General Motors AFM fuel management sucks. Instead of having thoseazy freaking two-stage lifters that really pieces of crap. why not just shut off the fuel and spark to the cylinders that you don’t want to run and save the economy that way.
The complexity of the mechanical two stage lifters when a few key strikes would just shut off the fuel and save gas.
GM’s last attempt at this type of active fuel management has never worked right.
The DFM sucked and remember the 1981 Cadillac. The famed V8-6-4 engine. One year only and it was a piece of crap.
okay seriously big question ... the chrome rims....not for me would rather see something updated, sick of chrome SOC
Wonder what the cost of this was. Anybody have a clue? I wish they would give the final price including labor.
Thst C10 was incredibly nice before they start on it. I like the LT1 though. Nice.
Aww yes, so very affordable! Somehow I don't think that these shows are geared towards 50 year old dads that barely make the ends meet
Wow them burgers look awsome
If you sell this awesome truck how much would it be?
Makes me want to have a truck. Just wish my garage was wide enough to fit two large cars. Nice work you two!
That couch was not it
Horse Power needs to build a engine for something besides just a vehicle. Lets say a boat a jet or a air or a inboard. May be a pulling tractor or other equipment. Say I want to hop up my forklift.
in australia we dont get chevs we get holdens they are chevs with holden styling same chev engines i would love to send you the specs so you can buy me some brothers parts for it and a cool crete motor do you guys have any 6wd cars over there maybe you could build one for us to see thanks for the cool video
gr8 build video... gives the average man hope to attempt this... can you do a cost breakdown for the parts added
and that’s nothing special only 460 horse from 6.2 L? Ford gets 485.0 L!!
Fords suck and will never look this good
I got a 72 for sale, factory.
the kids who were “dumb”
I can totally hear the song Stranglehold by Ted Nugent in my head while I was watching this...great build!
Really COOL C10 just needs WIDER wheels and tires on the rear! PEACE ✌️
Does anyone know what LT is doing these days?
tht is a pretty good looking truck with new suspension and air ride
I would have done a 4 link in the rear with coil overs on all 4 corners
Only one problem, no A/C, ,, other than that, Awesome job 😏
