  • Rick and Tom set their sights on a new project, and they have some pretty hefty plans for an old Mopar. Some might consider it a less desirable model, but the guys just might change your mind when you see what they have in store.

As someone who knows practically nothing, I’m definitely in the 'a little knowledge is a dangerous thing' zone, I have to give credit to Powernation for how they explain things. I normally watch these videos on my bedside tv when I can’t sleep through pain. The good is they take my mind off the pain, the bad is I can't comment to say how much I enjoy them.

i agree. they do a service by explaining their processes. for ex. , i never knew that flux was for copper only or there where different combinations of flux.

Who else is watching this, and thinking about building something similar 🤔
Seems to happen to all of us.
Unfortunately only a small percentage of us actually do it 😔
The choice of Willow Green really set the car off, and of course the Blacked out HEMI on the bonnet just adds that finishing touch.
    Really enjoyed watching the build.👍

The blower is huge 450 ci per revolution from the 8-71 weirdness kit with a 7 liter built hemi. It’s amazing now that you can make more horsepower in an engine a 1/3 of that size.I didn’t realize how big the belts were back then. In my car I use a 65mm pulley on my supercharged lakers. Couldn’t imagine the gas mileage prolly like 5 miles per gallon

For anyone that doesn't know any better, do *not* use 4 point harnesses. If you need a harness, use a 5 or 6 point harness. With a four point harness in an accident the lap belt can slide up off of your hips (or your body can slide down). This is called 'submarining'. The effect is that the belt cuts into your gut, causing significant internal damage.

Frames too bent and messed up.
Edit- and theres not like there new roofs and rear body structure, front structure really avalible honestly, and at that point your gonna have to do a lot more body tube add on to help hold it all togeather, over time if its just weld on new peice your body will start bowing at those points. So might as well just make a tube car, and set the body peices on it :/. And then you can just get carbon fiber molds and have a tube car, with a carbon body, and put that daytona vin plate on it and boom, there ya go.

Love it! My Grandpa had an old Plymouth Duster (early 70's model, dont remember exactly what year), I loved that thing, tried to talk Grandma into selling it to me after he passed back in the early 80's but she told me she aint selling it to no family member because it wouldn't cause nothing but problems. I did buy an old 72 Plymouth Valiant from my Grandma & Grandpa on the other side back in the early 90's and drove that old thing damn near to the wheels fell off though. It was a funky 4 door with a slant six but them old engines would run forever! I would still love to get a hold of an old Duster! Wound up buying a a new 2015 Challenger Scat Pack though to try to fulfill my cravings for a Mopar Muscle car but it still aint the same, still plan to get one of those old 70's models one of these years before I bite the dust!

For marking your rim for 12 bead lock screws you can use a set of dividers, possibly after you make some, opened up to the radius of the bolt circle. The dividers will evenly walk around the rim 6 times. Measure the midpoint between any two marks and walk the dividers around a second time for a dozen holes. This also works to get 6 pieces of pie without needing Pi. An old Cooper's barrel trick.

I used to work in a body shop, and I have repaired ans recovered seats. It is NOT easy, but it feels good to see a completed job where you can't tell the seats have been recovered. My nightare job was a Volvo where the side airbag was deployed. It not only tore the side of the leather seat cover, but also twisted the frame and dameged the foam. Took a long time, but it looked great when I was done. (I also used some of the old leather cover to recover my 25 year old rolling shop stool...LOL!)

@@moresdavamp5855 when I see a good looking MOPAR everything else escapes me; until they start doing shit to the car it doesn't need or would cost a fuck ton of money for any reason.

Haven't watched it yet, a real valid point was made.
I own a '75 Dart Sport. Found it on accident. I was chasing a '67 notchback and Google maps blew it big. I was in Portland, Oregon not Massachusetts.
I know all the Duster stuff from owning them, and she seemed bigger, better sounding, and felt wonderfully better driving her. They are the overlooked child.
And now I watch the video, and thank you in advance for doing this video, just not a lot out there for those of us who have one, and nope, it ain't a Duster for sure...

Such a cool build, and different. Sure it's a Mopar, but it's not what everyone expects automatically, like a Charger...Challenger...or even a Superbird. And it absolutely is breathtaking.
