Learned to drive @ 13 yrs old in my Dad's 1960 F100 4spd. After owning a 1955 F100 I purchased a 1960 F100 in 1978 for $800. Drove it till 1992 when I sold for $2500.00. Lotsa memories.
I had a 62 Ford F100. we swapped the 3 speed for an automatic and a 351 Windsor with a bunch of go fast goodies! We swapped in another brake master cylinder 'and hooked it up to the front brakes and the stock master cylinder to the rear Did dandy burnouts!
I grew up on country music, Mr Clint black being in the long list of country music icons I love to listen to even to this day, there's something truthful in county music that connects to the soul and pulls on my heart strings, no matter what type of music one listens to we can all agree that there's a tune we can all connect to and empathize with one another, great music comes from the heart and soul and can make you feel what the writers of the music was felt apon the time it was written,
People complaining about how this isn’t a “full restoration” probably didn’t pay attention. They didn’t restore any of the body because that’s how Clint wanted it. They had a deadline and rebuilding an engine takes time. Tearing one down takes time too. It probably ran when they got it and the gaskets were probably changed before it was sold. While I don’t fully agree with a couple of things they did, I’m not complaining too hard. It’s honestly pretty solid work and the truck looks great. Just wish people weren’t so negative about everything.
The hole in the firewall where the wiring comes through, I always use a small piece of rubber hose roughly the size of a spark plug wire and slice it down the middle with a razor blade. You open it up and fit it around the lip of the metal so your wiring don't rub against the sharp edge of the metal. Over time than can and sometimes does cut the protective coating on the wiring. Just a reassurance from hot wires touching and blowing a fuse or possibly starting a fire.
Underside of the tonneau cover . Cut pieces of foam to fit in the cavities between the conduit and possibly tape them in place and then attach another layer of fiberglass fabric so that you don’t have to fight over each piece of conduit, but I have never done any fiberglass work so I am not sure if the resin would make the foam change shape or not? Anyhow I love the show and hope everything works out for you ✌️
this is where that turbo 300 ford inline 6 should have gone, large billet steelie copies blacked out centrs with a mustang style large dog dish, and a polished soft lip, QA 1 suspension, a built auto overdrive auto 4l60 or 80 E, would be a much more exciting build, oh well still a very cool old truck , i hope it lasts twice as long!
Beautiful rebuild minus 1 thing and y’all are killing me by putting white lettered tires with the white letters on the inside instead of the outside of the tire like they should
Those were good ones , cooler basket in the doors. The first twin I beam suspension. Oh 19& 69 , & king cab crummy cab , Werth a small fortune, u cn find one .
watching bits and pieces of this reminds me how much I absolutely hate working on vehicles, and wish I could just afford to have someone else do all my mechanic work for me.
Fly by night I suppose ??? Bigger Badder Better !!! Was how I Flew !!! A 460 a Dana 60 an whatever was in the junkyard !!! Plus 4 disks an a dual pot master !!! In for a penny go for the pound !!!
Door rubbers window seals and that single pot master cylinder !!! Been close to killed 3 times behind those single pot master cylinders !!! Pop a rubber or line and SURPRISE you got nothing but gears !!!
I've had a 58 and 2 -- 1959 Fords still have a 59 that my father bought in 1963 I'm going to do a found up restoration in the form of a restro mod hot rod.....
Music city trash. Poor block prep Didn't inspect the new motor properly and just threw paint on it 😂 Maybe one day this truck will get the love it deserves.
Comp Cams has a line of Thumpr hydraulic rollers with the largest the Big Mutha Thumpr...... look into the specs on it, I think it would love that Z-28 like no other.
I would like to see that truck fully restored with a built 300 6 cyl.and a centrifugal supercharger and a 6 speed tremec transmission and 8.8 posi rear end.
As an auto tech for 45 years I've never seen such b.s. work...no prep..oh let's throw a used engine in it and paint it...krylon rebuild and rebuild the trans !!! Don't get me started on the damn taillights that where put on the bumper...should be called craigslist rebuild !!!
WOW!!!! High end client and you Craigslist rebuild the engine. If I found out you got an old engine and just painted it and dropped it in, I’d be PIIIIIISSSSSED
I wonder if PowerNation hosts are coached regarding their speech patterns. Their intonaiton is super consistent - the voice rises in tone through a sentence to about 80% the way through, then finishes as a descent. It's distracting AF, and comes across as insincere, kinda like news reader intonation. If you met someone on the street who talked to you like these guys do when on script, you'd think they were insane.
What about the rusty cab corner? Plus the ty rod is prone to bending so you need to slide a pipe over is and spot weld on it. And the king pins go bad should be addressed steering box's go bad too. You didn't show pound the dent out of the back fender....
You mean every video is recycled content from 20+ years ago? You mean everything they are posting today is ten times more expensive and 100 times less efficient than anything today?
Love the truck. It has so much potential. What you two did was slap some parts on it and painted the block. That’s not a restoration. It’s a get it running to sell. Pretty disappointing job.
Why on earth would you replace an engine with one form the bone yard without going through it first. The content has definitely gone down over the years.
Completely rebuilt front and rear suspension, replaced a locked up motor with one that runs and drives, rebuilt transmission, new brakes, tires and wheels, all new electrical and fuel systems, you’re right. SO many shortcuts 🙄
@@walkertongdeeremember, it's NOT a total restoration. Clint wanted his truck as original as possible. They fixed the truck as Clint wanted. And to add, they had a tight deadline.
Unbelievable, they are building a patina truck and using a junkyard engine, fancy wood in the bed, LED lighting and sticking with an externally regulated generator ? In other words it's not a restoration and that generator will fail. I've done a lot of 12v and alternator conversions, mounting a newer, internally regulated alternator is a breeze and upgrades the electrical system for any load you want to put on it. Those old generators only put out 30 amps at best. It's like leaving the single pot master cylinder in place for braking which they did. This episode is made for entertainment purposes only, sucks in real life and Clint's gonna be pissed. Period correct it's not and not doing upgrades for all systems for safety is a huge mistake. TV mechanic's for those that don't know better.
Did you watch the video all the way through? Clint didn’t want a full restoration or new paint job, they literally said he just wants it back on the road for his tour. And you can see he was happy as a clam when they gave it back to him at the end…
It doesn’t need all that,he’s going to probably drive it on stage park it and probably not even drive it off, then do it at the next stop so who cares.
I wished that things like that truck was still that plain, and that easy, instead of the junk we have today

Clint has always been one of my favorite country music singers, cool to see his old truck back out on the road 👍
You make my day with these full build videos, amazing

Clint black right up there with Travis Tritt Randy Travis Alan Jackson & we are all just killin' time. Cool truck indeed.
Him driving this truck in Better Man. I was 14. I fell in love with classic trucks from then.
Great job guys for a great guy ,Clint Biack and kept it olb school just like he wanted
Thanks so much!
one of my all time favorites... Clint and the Truck
Wow now I feel old I remember when that truck and that video first came out 30 plus years back glad to see Clint Black still has his baby with him
Good job guys
Clint Black is coming to my venue in Virginia this summer. I hope to park my !970 Ranchero next to his truck. Awesome job fellers

That is something I would do with my wife when I get my Crown Vic build-up. Lol, that was awesome.
Hey guys, I'm so impressed of your automotive mechanical works. Appreciate you for sharing video. Keep up with
your work. 👍

That sneaky little Dr Who reference tho

VGG would have gotten it running! In the truck!
There’s shade tree mechanics and parts catalogue mechanics, vgg is the former and you can’t fake that kinda talent!
Engine Power couldnt do the motor??? Pat would had loved doin a true stock build on that motor!
That’s awesome!

The show should have the opposite effect. The previous versions of these shows got me into wrenching. Kinda sad.
Cool build
In 1960 the 223 6 cyl had 145 HP-- AND it had 7.2:1 static compression ratio, so 2.0" exhaust is plenty large enough in diameter.
Nice jobbb❤🎉🎉
That engine is going to look great for about 10 minutes of run time till the old gaskets start leaking again :)
Yeah I thought it was pretty ridiculous that they didn't pull that motor apart.

Junkyard motor with a coat of blue paint
I cant believe you guys didn't at least have replacement engine rebuilt even just to stock specs. Ya know, for reliability and peace of mind.
More please

Nice job boys, for a really nice guy Clint' .
The only exception being what you did for taillights at the back bumper, shame on you,, such an eyesore.
33.50. Some people don't know about the star pattern. You should have shown it.
The 2 1/2 in. pipes are too big for that little six 2in. would not kill the torque.
I am building a 60 panel. Where can i find the bulbs for front turn signals. Also, I would love to find chrome metal around the headliner.
They literally loaded that truck so easily and probably only took about 45 minutes
Why on earth did you not replace the rubber freeze plug??
❤
57-60 were the best trucks . My profile pic is my 57 m100.
Ese chasis lo uvieran cambiado la parte de abajo muy podrido para seguir usandolo auque todavia aguante .

Hay you spent all that money 💰 putting a clutch in you forgot to resurface the clutch plate.
You mean you painted the engine before you check the entire thing out , if so ya ain’t working on mine ,
These trucks never had radiator shrouds

Why would you not have gone through that other block and rebuilt it and a new flywheel not to mention go through the transmission then you know
Budget Build.. black probably broke😆

why 2 1/2" diameter exhaust? 2 inch diameter would have been more than adequate.
Ur right! 2.5 inch not right size for hp/torque the inline makes at all
The show would be cool if you stopped with all the idiotic talking and just worked on the project.
@POWERNATION Please do a high rpm naturally aspirated screamer build on the 4.3 chevy v6🙏
Wow, I can't believe you didn't rebuild the engine, that is a junkyard engine, really 😳 I can't watch any more of this 😫
How do you call it a full build when all you do is clean and repaint
I thought this truck was going to be coyote swapped
sad to see... went from Rick Bacon, Kevin Tetz etc. to these jokers. Seems everything is less quality these days
Wtf? Just Craigslist rebuild that 6cyl. Didn't check anything at all. What a bunch or hacks
Eye protection gents??
The out side of the truck needs a face lift with paint and dents pulled out and rust gone.
Plan B. Was a Krylon rebuild. Hahaha. What a joke of a show.
Ford🤣 Love the full builds, but you guys need to cut all the recaps. It's just wasting time, and bloating the EP length.
This show could afford a steam cleaner.

bet angela is pretty disappointed too 😂
It was done the way Clint Black wanted it.
Why wouldn't you rebuild the motor while you had it all torn down?
Do not use the old headliner cloth!!!!! Get new cloth, IT'S VERY CHEAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rattle can engine rebuilders at your service.
Weird looking 64.. looks like a 59 or 60 to me
it's a 60,they said it at the beginning
Hour and 25? O didn't make it to five.
no blasting, ammateurs
I profeur kingdig customs
What kindig does and what Clint wanted are 2 very different things…he didn’t want a full on $300,000 restoration. He just wanted it back on the road
Why on earth would you replace an engine with one form the bone yard without going through it first. The content has definitely gone down over the years.
Que serviço mal feito , motor velho apenas com tinta nova? Baixo padrão pro nível do programa
His face is so tight from plastic surgery I don’t know how he even talks much less sing
Too many shortcuts, bad paint prep, too rushed, attention to detail just aint there
What shortcut, if i may ask?
Completely rebuilt front and rear suspension, replaced a locked up motor with one that runs and drives, rebuilt transmission, new brakes, tires and wheels, all new electrical and fuel systems, you’re right. SO many shortcuts 🙄
