If I could marry a UA-cam video it would be this one. Couldn't get the shield back into the plastic collar for two days til I watched this. Thank you so much!!
Thank you so much, you are a life saver... I started out watching another video, starting and stopping, starting and stopping trying to get this darn thing put back together, so then i decided to take a chance on you and went back together just as smooth as could be... I was getting pretty frustrated... Thank you again!
I have the bearing wheel seized up problem, thanks to your video I was abled to cleaned it up and re lubricate it, now my brush is spinning again. Thanks
Thanks so much for this! Was able to really easily take apart and clean following your very simple instructions! Even the parts I was worried would be hard to do you walked through the steps very well and I was able to follow with great success
Firstly it is very useful video. Thanks to share it!!! I tried to do same things but what I realized Dyson made it so complicated to cleaning the head at home. After use the vacuum 3 months later I have to unscrew the head all the same way to cleaning the head .😩 It is very complicated and difficult. Personally I don't wanna buy Dyson product anymore coz I don't want use dirty head vacuum for my house spread all the dirty. They should made easy way to cleaning head .
Hey man I have a question..the neck where we are able to maneuver the dyson in hard to reach areas..that price keep coming open and I see the wires in there and I’m unable to get it to stay like it’s supposed to it’s always coming of and then it’s useless…the wires are still in tact and if I like hold it together it works to vacuum but I can’t find the name of that piece where the rollers are so you have any idea how to fix that or where I can find that part ? Thanks
I think the only part that is available for this nozzle would be the brush roll. Anything beyond that will require you to just replace it unfortunately. It sounds like the part you’re referring to is the “Elbow” or the “swivel neck.” Those are the names commonly given in the industry to that part if I’m understanding you correctly.
1:47 I've just got a broken one of these, it's got no continuity with a multimeter. That means it's broken right? The 2 other heads have continuity. If I take the brush roller out and try and spin the motor by that end T shaped bit it's not smooth as well, is it supposed to be smooth?... It has a subtle and regular move-resitance-move-resistance type action.
A DC motor will feel like that when you spin it manually. Not sure what the issue is with that particular head. Sounds like you have a few back ups though!
@@richardsvacuumcenter Thanks. Do you know if it should have continuity?.. I got that total clean head, the mini one, and the fluffy one. I intend to sell the fluffy one to offset the cost of buying to whole lot, so still want a working total clean one.
Thanks for the video. Very useful. I’ve a potential connection issue, I believe located at the “elbow” section as it stops rotating when the elbow is laid flat at 180 degrees, any other position, even pulling away from Motörhead is fine. How do take the elbow part apart?
sounds like you might be better off replacing the head at this point if you have a severed wire in the neck. If you're able to locate the wire problem in the neck, to attempt to repair it usually isn't possible because of the space it's designed to fit in. Hope that helps.
Thanks for the video! I checked my v7 and they are clean for the parts you have mentioned. The bearing seal/ wheel that you have mentioned does not look like it's rusted but I was able to test and tell that is the part having issue. My brush would turn for one second and stopped. I didn't disassemble the motor, i tried to pull down the bearing wheel a few times and let it "bounce back" a few times, it runs! However, once I start to vacuum,it stopped again after a second. Then I tried to pull it harder for a few times, it worked, I can vaccum but I am not sure when it will stop again. By any chance you know what's the problem? Does it need lubricants? Thanks!
Depends on how wet. If you got some water on just the outside of the motor you are probably ok. If it was a lot and some got inside then it can definitely cause problems.
@@richardsvacuumcenter I have the V7 so the whole new blue roller not just the barring? any way I can repair maybe wd40 or something so it can glide again?
@@nonameno6690 you can try. Removing it is difficult without damaging the plastic. I think the rollers are fairly inexpensive so I would just recommend getting a new roller
hmm that's a tough one to try and figure out with just that description. could be several things. bearings, crack somewhere....idk just guessing. Hard to know without seeing it in person.

The dirt on my "clear" piece was awful. This was super helpful to get that looking like new (I did accidentally rip the gasket but it's all good lol)

that is describing a brushroll that will not spin freely. if you can't get it spinning freely you may need to replace it.
Awesome video thank you ☺️ definitely helped!
you're welcome!
If you get the motor wet, does it ruin the vacuum? I accidentally got mine wet and now I’m worried I broke it.
Depends on how wet. If you got some water on just the outside of the motor you are probably ok. If it was a lot and some got inside then it can definitely cause problems.
At timeframe 0.53 in your video the part you said not to get wet...mine is rusted and that's why it doesn't spin how can I get this part or fix this?
You should be able to easily find that part on Amazon or Walmart.com. Search for v6 brush roll.

You sound like Gage from the old tv show Emergency
Doesn't apply to my V7 head its built differently.
