Thank you for making this steek tutorial short to the point. You have no idea how many times l typed in steek and it comes up with people with scissors showing how to cut😂?
Thank you for making this steek tutorial short to the point.
This was such a clear cut, perfect tutorial.❤ Thanks.
I have been dreaming of steeking .. I will definitely be watching your videos . Thank you
That is so perfectly timed!! I’m thinking about the find your fade cardi and was put off by all the purling!! Thank you!!
You're so welcome, Mary! I hope it helps 🤗
Thank you so very much. I have been trying to find a beginner step by step tutorial for me to learn from.
Thanks so much for this video! I just started the Saga Cardigan pattern and I couldn’t quite wrap my head around the written directions for this part of the process. Your video explained what I needed perfectly!
Thank you for a great video! Quick question, when you are picking up the stitches for the ribbing band, where do you pick? On the stockinette stitches or the stitches in the purl row? Maybe you can do a technique video on how you do that. Thanks.
Thank you for sharing! I’m knitting a cardigan and glad I saw this before I split for my sleeves. Now I can speed through it! 🥰😘
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I have started the Bubble Cardigan by S West and have just started the back section and I am so looking forward to doing it your way, so THANK YOU for teaching this technique so clearly! 😘
Thank you so much for this tutorial, Kristin!
Thanks so much for this tutorial! I can’t wait to do my first steeked sweater!
This video is a lifesaver!
Thank you! I needed this.
That was so informative!! Thank you so much.
I am really excited to try this! Thanks for the info. 😊
This is a great tutorial! Thank you!
Thank you soo much for this tutorial, I have always wondered how to do this. Now I can knit my Bubble Cardigan. 😁
Yay!! That makes me so happy, Juliane. Go forth and steek ALL the things!! 🤗
Thank you would you be willing to create another tutorial where you steek and add an icord edge
Brilliant!!
Have you ever converted a pullover to a cardigan with this method?
This is very helpful! Thank you!
This is just fantastic. Thanks so much for sharing 🐑🌸🐑💜
thanks. you've just made me so much less scared to try and knit my first cardigan
YASSS!!! 👏👏👏
Amazing! Thank you!
Thanks for this good idea 😘👌🙏🏻
I watched a tutorial on Norwegian purling. I'm going to cast on a small project and do it all with the flicking technique and using Norwegian purling to see if I can switch to this technique
I hope it goes well, Ginger! :D
Thank you this was very helpful😂. I was wondering when picking up stitches do you pick up on the purl stitch of the steel or the knit stitch on the cardigan just before the purl of the steek😊
Thank you so much for this tutorial! So hard to find one. I’m stuck on steeking for a cowl pattern two colored garter stitch dominat. First I only use one color per round, so when I come around to the steek (knit one st per color alternating) the other color is at the end. I’ve been pulling it across the back and securing it under a few knit st but the it’s a disaster. Any chance you can show how to do this with two colors? Thanks!!!
This helps a lot!
I love this and I love the sweater you showed in the video can you share the pattern?
So glad you enjoyed! Pattern is the Bubble Cardigan by Stephen West :)
Awesome!
Hi Kirsten thank for sharing with every body how are you doing today I am doing fine today stay safe hugs and kisses 💙💙
What if working stranded do you have to catch the float across or do you just have a really long float
Question… did you start the steeking stitches after you divided for armholes or before? I’m dying to knit this cardi and I am not a Purl stitch fan 😂
Can you do this for a panel of stockinette that has already been worked up quite a bit? I’m making a sweater and I’m so tired of switching stitches every row lmao and this is only my first panel
As long as there's no crazy shaping happening around the edges, you should be OK inserting some steeking stitches for the remainder of the flat-knit work :)
But how do you do the other end? Do I bind off the steeking stitches and start on the cuff? I’ve worked the top and now I’m totally stuck getting to the bottom of the cardigan cuz idk what to do with the steek
What if I did the ribbing without adding steering stitches? How do I steek through the ribbing?
I hope this isn’t a stupid question. You’ve inspired me to try a long desired cardigan pattern to steeking since I’m also intimidated by all of the purl stitches.
But if changing the cardigan pattern to steeking, would you knit extra rounds? For instance, with the purl row or WS row, would you instead knit a round and then the next round continue with the RS row instructions?
Not a stupid question at all! It can be confusing at first ... You're not knitting extra rounds, but once you join your work in the round, all WS rows are now worked as RS rows. So now, when knitting a WS row, you'll want to knit the purl stitches and, likewise, purl any knit sts that come up. I hope that makes sense!
@@Voolenvine That makes perfect sense! Thank you so much for the clarification and all of the hard work you put into these videos for us. ☺️
💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗
Thank you for this. Off topic but what is this yarn your using? Is it yours?
Of course! The yarn is deep stash Knit Picks Wool of the Andes in "Seraphine" I believe? 🤔 It's a light lavender mauve...
@@Voolenvine Thank You! I love this color. You and I both love mauve but I tend towards the purple side.
I’m having a hard time visualizing how to do this with a cardigan pattern that has two front panels and a back panel. Can you please help me understand this better?
i love you
This is so helpful. Thank you
