    is for sucDrivingkers!!!! FSD is what it’s all about for highway driving. 8k has given me the confidence to drive after dark in places I’m unfamiliar with. Which is everywhere since moving to NJ. Apparently street lights are played and coming from Manhattan it’s hard on the eyes.
    But really… it’s the perfect wingman and we make a great team. If you can’t afford it don’t buy, but don’t fool yourself thinking FDS isn’t fantastic!!! Not perfect… Damn great.

    Sorry but I have to be critical here.
    If you use summon while standing right next to the car, that is not even remotely a representative use case. I honestly can’t fathom why you’d test it that way. The car didn’t really have anywhere to go and the developers working on this functionality almost certainly aren’t focused on that sort of strange and trivial scenario thing. In fact when the GPS location of your phone is so close to the GPS location of the car, they probably have it programmed to just move forward a few feet because it’s assumed you just want some clearance in order to open the doors.

    • @astateoftech
      @astateoftech  Місяць тому +3

      Agree and disagree. I could have tested it from a greater distance as an additional check for sure! But the use case I mentioned in the video is squeezing it in a tight parking spot, so you don’t have to enter in and out of your vehicle with difficulty.

      @@DerekDavis213 _People with the latest greatest HW4 (hardware version 4) are getting a crippled FSD_
      No, some features are better in HW4, some better in HW3. HW4 with Vision Only gets the better Autopark, while HW3 gets summon-presumably because they have USS. My preference would be the better Autopark; others may differ.
      _Tesla is focusing on older cars first._

      @@BigBen621 If Autopark is better on HW4, then why does it *only* work when backing into a spot? Diagonal parking places are not supported, and Autopark cannot even drive in straight to a parking spot! Unbelievable.
      You mention percentages. Where did you get those exact figures? Do you work for Tesla?

    • @BigBen621
      @BigBen621 Місяць тому

      @@DerekDavis213 _If Autopark is better on HW4_
      Autopark is objectively better on HW4. HW4 allows you to select which parking spot you want to park in, on both sides of the lane you're driving down. HW3 Autopark only selects a single parking spot. Presumably, this is temporary; there seems to be no reason the HW3 cars with USS can't do the same, so this is likely just an improvement Tesla hasn't gotten around to. Neither of them do anything but back into a spot.
      _why does it only work when backing into a spot?_
      You have an absurd fixation on a trivial issue. It is easy to drive head on into a perpendicular spot, even easier to pull into a diagonal spot. Backing into a spot is safer, because when you leave you're not backing out into traffic you can't see. But it takes considerably more skill, and most people have to back and fill 2-3 times to get lined up correctly. This, and the improved safety, are most likely why Tesla's Autopark backs into spaces.
      Many other cars have Autopark, of some form or another. To your knowledge, do any of the others give you the option of driving straight in or backing in? And if not, are you similarly making obsessive comments on their forums?
      _Where did you get those exact figures?_

Thousands of people every day..1.5 million people every year are killed by so called perfect Human driver now around the world.. • @BigBen621
      @BigBen621 Місяць тому

      _the more people use FSD, the less fatal accidents will be_
      The FSD Beta test program has been astonishingly safe. Teslas with FSD engaged have now driven >one billion miles, with no confirmed fatalities; and only one claimed but highly unlikely fatality in Colorado in 2022. Meanwhile, NHTSA statistics show that average human drivers driving one billion miles of driving in the U.S. would experience *13.4 fatalities.* While of course that number has to be adjusted for demographics, car age and condition, driving conditions, etc., there's no conceivable set of adjustments that could adjust 13.4 fatalities down to zero. And zero fatalities also almost certainly means fewer injuries and fewer accidents, which is pretty much the definition of increased safety.

      Agreed on potholes. Not all states allow right on reds. Plus some imtersections don’t allow it. Makes sense Tesla would default to no. Auto park is def slow but that’s by design as people can come out from anywhere in parking lot. Summon is a gimmick and should be cancelled. But I had fsd 11 and it was okay. Tried friends fsd with 12 and we took a 30 minute trip, with stop signs, highways, and red lights etc and did entire trip with zero interactions or issues. It’s awesome if you need to drive a lot or just want the car to do it like if you tired or something. You don’t understand how good it is unless you own one and try it. It’s crazy good

      That's only your opinion, and of course you're welcome to it. If it had always been free, it would never have been developed, and its potential to save tens of thousands of lives a year would never be realized. It was the 400,000 FSD Beta test group buying or subscribing to FSD Beta that paid for its development, which Tesla would not otherwise have been able to afford. Most of them, including me, were happy to pay for it, for differing reasons.

      @@BigBen621 my evidence of it being dangerous is every day on my 3 mile commute to work it almost kills me if I don’t disengage by pulling out in front of cars doing 55mph at a simple merge. The first day it became available free for 30 days, at a fork in the road going 35mph, it decided it would go straight between the fork. If I didn’t take over it would’ve smashed into the curb. These are only two examples. So if that’s happening to me I’m sure it’s happening to others. So personally I wouldn’t pay a dime for it. With that said, I believe Tesla will get there eventually but today it still needs a lot of improvements. The most frustrating part is when it works properly it’s amazing, well it fails, like most other technologies, it’s useless. Thank you.

    ua-cam.com/video/kzyGDTZ9ceE/v-deo.html Answer to your $12K FSD buy or not-to-buy question in the U.S. is like buying a brand new 2024 MYP (think of it as buying a $4.89 hamburger in tiny Georgia town) for $47,630 after federal tax credit, but before tax/registration, on April 19, 2024. It costs only 25% (rounded up) more to add FSD to said MYP.
    Now in the case of the hamburger, the cashier asks if you would want to have fries ($2.39) to go with that? Most people in the U.S. would say yes! Oh btw those are actual costs of the hamburger and fries, before tax, (found in a tiny USA Georgia town) of a world-famous fast-food restaurant chain.
    Bottom line: people would gladly pay 49% (rounded up) more to add fries to their hamburger. So, why would prospective and non-FSD current 2024 MYP owners agonize over the 25% more money to add FSD to their cars?? Unless they truly can't afford to do so, financially!!
