Bro, thanks! Been shopping around for the last year and have also test-driven countless vehicles. Your review not only was great! Now has sealed the deal to order my Tesla Model Y and it will be delivered this May!!
I rented a Tesla Model 3 to try it out and I definitely enjoyed it. However if I were to purchase one to own with my own money, it 100% would be the Model Y. SUV storage and size in the footprint of a regular sedan 🔥
You can easily remove one of the 5 annoying things about your Tesla. On road trips, run the battery down to 10-15% and then charge it up to 70-80%. Then continue your drive to the next charger. You will add a few stops to your trip but each stop will be much quicker. I can go from 10% to 70% in about 25 minutes at a V3 supercharger. It is a waste of time to charge above 80% unless you need the extra charge to make it to the next charger but that is rare.
I personally love the 30 minute stops. Driving for more than 2 hours I feel exhausted. those 30 minute breaks to stop and charge, I can take in the scenery, take a bathroom break or just relax before getting back on the road.
And I can go from 1% to 100% in 3-4 minutes with my gas vehicle at a pump and then go another 400 miles.. How annoying it must be to sit around while the car is charging at each charging station for 25 plus minutes..
I purchased both a Model 3 and Model Y a year apart and both have a design in the bottom aero panel underneath the cars. In both cases, a screw or bolt came off and allowed for a portion of the front of this panel to flop down, and hence start to hit the road any time you go through a dip in the road. Eventually, this break off while driving. Also, when it rained, the cars would collect water underneath and get into the underside. This caused mildew and I had to replace the cabin filter earlier. Both cars were less than one year old. Getting both aero panels replaced cost me about $400 each from Tesla. They did not consider this to be covered by warranty. This is a design flaw that needs to be fixed by Tesla. If you do a google search on this subject, you’ll find multiple instances of this by other people.
Seems like all non truck or SUV cars have plastic covers on the bottom that loose bolts, I see that with all kinds of newer sedans, it's kind of a hybrid SUV/sedan because of the smoothe design, at least it's not a big problem... Plastic is people's favorite
With all that storage it seems they would put a spare tire in there. I just can't get behind paying 50k for a car and being at someone else's mercy to fix a flat.
Its a nice car. I was considering the Model 3 last year but decided to hold off and got a Toyota, the resale value of Tesla's went way down recently. My worry is if that price drop happens again. I'm not willing to burn many thousands of dollars as the EV industry continues to figure itself out.
Oh please, this car sucks. It is very loud in the cabin, not comfortable to drive at all, and I honestly feel like the price to quality is terrible. But you know that's just me
Yes. There's multiple brands available online and they average about $30. I ordered the matte finish version for my model y long range. Cuts down on the the glare considerably.

By far one of the best reviews I’ve seen. Great job man. You’ve made me really want one. Between between this, model S and Bronco Badlands. Im looking to buy Summer 2024
The price for the Model Y as of February 2024 is a no brainer to buy one, especially with the $7,500 tax credit and most states have tax incentives as well. Hands down the Best Buy !! ⚡️😎
The color that shows up through the chip is the color of the plastic injection molded part underneath. Most injection molded parts are made from black-colored pellets, as those are the cheapest to source.
I was a long-term Audi owner -- I just purchased a 2024 Tesla MYLR and I am astonished at the power and handling. I have been behind the wheel of a McLaren and let me tell you.... I have more fun in my Model Y. I can't believe the price, handling, overall savings, space and safety ratings of the model Y. I'm hooked on Tesla now.
Your video is perfect and informative? As the white interior is expensive in terms of cleaning and maintenance which color is better ? please advise as I am buying the car soon. Thank you very much
Thanks - only thing you have to look out for is blue Jean transfer, which does go on the white seats but if you are careful, it can be maintained. Also, use my referral code to save money on your Tesla purchase 👌🏼
To help reduce wiper squealing, coat your windshield with Rain-X. Also use Rain-X wiper fluid to help keep the windshield treated. It will improve visibility in the rain while also reducing wiper friction on the glass. Which will reduce their noise a bit.

My F150 Lightning is far nicer and quieter than any 3 or Y I had. We have a model 3, and it has been a great car except for one annoying flaw. There is only a single fan for both driver and passenger. Unlike most cars where the passenger or driver can block the fan while the other person has it blowing, there is no way to do this on the model 3. So, it really needs separate fans for driver and passenger. Does the model Y have separate fans?
Haha yup! I don’t believe 2024 would be the refresh but no one really knows. The model 3 is sportier and more fun to drive but I chose the model Y it’s still sporty but the practicality of its storage capacity it amazing! 👌🏼
It’s less yes but 30 years of quality control va 15 years for a Tesla … Tesla is your iPhone iPad Apple on wheels … no gas sure but u need a home charger and u need to always find a ev station charger however there is still less maintenance like break bars and roaters.. with one peddle driving u engage in breaks a lot less helps wear and tear….
The fact the value of an EV drops like a stone in the first year. Basically a dead weight. You won’t be able to run it past 7 years without probably having to replace the batteries.
I have the Model 3 Performance and in 4 years the only thing I have done is change the wiper fluid. My friend has over 120,000 miles on his Model 3 and has changed tires twice. He also had to change the lithium battery that runs the accessories for $169. I just ordered a Model Y Performance. I have three ICE vehicles and I am tired or the constant maintenance. I hate smogging the cars, oil changes, coolant, tune ups, timing belt, alternators, transmission fluid etc. My 1990 4Runner has 180,000 miles on it and needs a new engine. I have used the supercharger maybe a dozen times in four years. All of my charging is done at home. I drove the Tesla from San Francisco to Los Angeles and it cost me $35 round trip. The Hotel had free charging and Tesla was doing free supercharging that weekend.
I’ve struggled with the removal of ultrasonic sensors. I’m not thrilled with having to rely on the camera as opposed to the alerts from the sensors. I’ve read this was a mistake from Tesla. Any thoughts???
I agree that it was a mistake on Tesla's part, but on the other hand, it's also one less part to break in the future. Tesla (Elon specifically) stated that the vision software is supposed to help with the calibrations for the Optimus bot 'eyes'.
Just by comparison, there's 50k supercharger stations globally and 115k gas stations in just the US alone.. or there's still nowhere near enough chargers available.. I'm not anti electric, i just don't think the tech is there yet, it's still an early adopter scenario. It is cool though..
One note to mention is that transport technology is evolving at a rapid pace, even if it has taken gas stations in a span of 100 years to get to the point where they are at, the gas pumps have been more efficent at filling up tanks than about 60 years ago. Of course with the increasing demand of both gas and EVs rising, each fill up station has to keep up with said demand. In my part of Texas, a lot of gas stations are still being built. With Tesla, it has taken them 10 years to build up a rather reliable network of roughly 30,000 chargers. Some analytics are suggesting Tesla will achieve 100,000 chargers or more across the US in 5 more years. Also good to point out that installing fast chargers are quicker to install, don't take up as much space, and cheaper to build than conventional gas stations, so the build rate is likely going to expand exponentially.
@@TheReal_JG For me, the biggest holdup in adoption is the additional charging time, the range loss in cold weather, and the lack of chargers along my traveling routes. While I am fine in the city, the vast majority of my travel is into areas where I would need to bring a 110 cord and get a hotel for two days to make it back. While i could just fill up and head home. I have family on the east coast, to drive from here to there is 656mi I have used the tesla network map in combination with electrify America and other chargers, and can't make that trip in one day in an EV, i would need a 3 day hotel schedule to make the drive and it would add nearly a day of driving and 250 additional miles to my trip to do it.. That's why those numbers are important, So technology would need to improve capacity so I can go 500mi on a charge, at 80mph, with the heat on 70f when it's 25f outside, with charging stations at minimum every 150mi from each other on all major highways.. At which point sign me up.. But, like i said, unfortunately the tech isn't there yet..
You can also add solar charging, this will charge an additional 5 to 10 percent sitting outside the whole day. It's a 10k upgrade that takes away your moon roof. You can also get the extended battery, that adds 50 more miles for an additional 25k. You'll lose the front truck space but who cares, you still have the back trunk and now you will blow up from a car accident no matter which half of the car they hit. Then you'll slowly start to realize that for this same price, you could have gotten 3 gas powered hybrid vehicles and now you have a broken Tesla that will cost 10 to 20 k to fix because the battery will eventually die and need a replacement. Assuming the car doesn't kill you 1st from it's "full self driving" feature or bankruptcy from maintenance. At least you have a Tesla?
It varies from state to state. I purchased a Tesla Model y long range in December 2023 in Missouri. Missouri charges a state tax, local county/town tax, a EV Road Tax Sticker ($120/Year), and the Title/Registration Fees. It cost me a whopping $4,100 at the department of Motor vehicles when I registered the new vehicle. Missouri is a unique State as you are not allowed to roll your sales tax into your loan. You are required to pay all the taxes when you register the vehicle. The state sales tax was $2,100, and the remainder was the County/Town Sales Tax, Registration, and Title . Also don't forget about the cost of accessories like the mobile charger, charging adapters, wall charger, and aftermarket spare tire. All of that was easily $6,000 on top of the loan. So be forewarned you need to have some extra cash on hand if you buy one! 😉
You’ll come to appreciate wheel covers after you scrape a few curbs with your $600 alloys wheels. I have on my civic, and they’re like $30/each to replace.
It’s through my Tesla referral link (in description) but they have changed the incentive now to include supercharging free for 6 months and 3 months FSD. They can change it anytime though..
Why no one talks about the suspension of Model y???? There is a lot of scope to improve it, isn’t it ? I am surprised how people spend same equivalent money as BMW all these 😅. I feel 35k to 45k is a perfect price for model y
My Model Y doesn't cool in the summer because of the panoramic roof. Ridiculous that there is no shade. Also, the road noise in this car is beyond unbearable. I can't wait for my lease to be up.
Loved this honest Tesla Y review! I am not a fan of Elon Musk; but I am a fan of Tesla -- is that weird? Anyway, I am currently leasing a 2022 Hyundai Kona ICE and my lease is up next year so in the Spring, when I'm 6 months out from my lease end, I will start my search for my next vehicle. Let's see what happens with prices and U.S. Tax incentives then, as I'm also looking at the new redesigned Hyundai Kona EV, or a Toyota Hybrid. Thanks for a fun to watch video.
Haha not too happy with Elon and the price cuts either but thanks for watching Steve and for the compliments! Let me know if you have any questions if you are decide to go for a Tesla. 👌🏼
The only thing good is its original price make it looks good as luxury car to show off and after all incentives it is affordable for those people can't affort real luxury car. beside that all other factors are not good to a hybrid even an ICE car.
Teslas aren’t very well made with horrid panel gaps, hoods that don’t fit, squeaky, ratty ride and a frustrating user interface. The Model Y is by far the best built and the new (upcoming) Model 3 is apparently much better than the current version. Also, Tesla stopped publishing scheduled maintenance information in 2019, leaving it to customers to know when their vehicle needs service.
Touch screen to open glove box? Seriously? No buttons for climate control? That’s a deal breaker. I’m glad I watched. Now I don’t have to think maybe I might want one. I definitely don’t and it doesn’t live rent free in my brain anymore.
Did I catch all the Booms?! 😂

How is that an suv?
Awesome review !
Thanks a lot! Appreciate it 🙏🏼
You can also add solar charging, this will charge an additional 5 to 10 percent sitting outside the whole day.
What’s the referral code ?
The referral link is in my bio 🙂
@@astateoftech thanks
What about taxes, I live in Fl. I heard sunpass is free
I heard the suspension is not very good on those EVs
Aftermarket wheels lol.... aka wheel hubcaps, funny thing they put silver ones on black wheels to make em fancy, now you put black ones on the silver!
You’ll come to appreciate wheel covers after you scrape a few curbs with your $600 alloys wheels. I have on my civic, and they’re like $30/each to replace.
How do i get the 500 dollar off
It’s through my Tesla referral link (in description) but they have changed the incentive now to include supercharging free for 6 months and 3 months FSD. They can change it anytime though..
I have a roof blind for my 3 which has really helped keep the interior a bit cooler when you're parked in the sun
Surprisingly, the heat doesn’t bother me as much but I also live in Canada where it’s always cold 😅
@@astateoftech much like the U.K. then except for those 4 hot days a year we have 😂
@@jonpriston8784haha we def have to cherish the limited hot days we have 😅
aye might use that referral code soon! where are those after market attachable wheels from? link ?
How can I buy and invest in Tesla
Funny man, great info.
Haha thanks so much! 🙏🏼
down to 10-15% and then charge it up to 70-80%. Then continue your drive to the next charger. You will add a few stop
The only thing good is its original price make it looks good as luxury car to show off and after all incentives it is affordable for those people can't affort real luxury car. beside that all other factors are not good to a hybrid even an ICE car.
Need more subs. Your so funny.
Thanks a lot mlee! Always there supporting every video…you rock 👌🏼
front tint is illegal here i believe.
Dude when you said "I can slide majority of my arm in to my elbow" for some reason my girlfriend got a huge grin on her face 🤣🤣🤣🤣
haha wow that’s too funny! 😂
dont you think owning a full size pick up truck a lot better?
what color tint is that?
I love the things I can't afford.. I seriously love this car!....
Well thats all his opinion on this car... Ill take that with a grain of salt...
This is a nice town is this india or something?
Teslas aren’t very well made with horrid panel gaps, hoods that don’t fit, squeaky, ratty ride and a frustrating user interface. The Model Y is by far the best built and the new (upcoming) Model 3 is apparently much better than the current version. Also, Tesla stopped publishing scheduled maintenance information in 2019, leaving it to customers to know when their vehicle needs service.
10:30 Did you close your frunk on purpose like that... you just voided warranty LMFAO u wild
Coke is JV, let's smear lipstick and yellow curry on that white seat and see how it holds up.
Resounding YESSS, lol. Now you should post the video of your tears due to fallen prices
Let's try 0 to 60.... heading towards a WALL!!!!!! LOL What?!
Lmao 🤣. It wasn’t actually a 0-60 in the video, just trying to show it’s quick off the line. I have 0-60 tests in my acceleration boost video.
Haha makes sense. Great video bro! Keep up the good work. Need some more Model Y Juniper insights! 😀@@astateoftech
You are going to hate the stupid handle design if you live in a state that have a very cold winter.
Touch screen to open glove box? Seriously? No buttons for climate control? That’s a deal breaker. I’m glad I watched. Now I don’t have to think maybe I might want one. I definitely don’t and it doesn’t live rent free in my brain anymore.
you can use voice control
lol how much of that credit you sharing bruh😂😂😂
